There is a toddler in my pants!

Yes and Yes, mine are getting smaller but longer. I had to get new bras this weekend. I was like pretty soon, they'll be down to my knees. Why can't they just get perkier as they get smaller? Really is that too much to ask???

Really? Really, youve got to be kidding me!

Just goes to show that some people totally don't think before they speak. I mean I love my hairdresser, but health is so much more important. Especially given that for most people who have the surgery they are back at it in less than a month. Oh the nerve of you getting all healthy and stuff. Wow...just...wow!

    What makes you "dump"?

Today it was crab. But I'm also not able to do lactose post-op so that sucks too.

    Daily meds after surgery

My Dr would not allow me to take any pills for the first 2 weeks. After that I could take my PPI and then a month or so later I could take my gallbladder pill. At 6 weeks I could take any meds/vitamins that the Dr okay'd in pill form.

    Why?

RIGHT...my hubby said the same thing. What I found funny is that I am losing them both at the same time. So for a while I'm going to be a box if the tummy doesn't start going down, whereas my whole life I've been a figure 8. If only we could point a magic wand and lose where we want.
  6. I weigh on either Sunday or Monday (I forget sometimes). I am 9 weeks (almost) post-op and have been stalled 7 of those weeks. I was annoyed at first due to me having a lot to lose but the Vets have helped me calm down by reading their words of wisdom. Now, I almost think it is hilarious that I have so much to lose but the scale won't budge...yes, I'm doing all the recommended tasks/behaviors. It is like my body will be the only one ever to be in the single digits (if I keep losing inches this fast) with a person that weighs over 300 lbs. I'm ready to take my show on the road. I could so win the "guess your weight" at this point!

Soooo Cute!! Keep this pic, he'll be embarrassed when you show it to him in about 15 years.

Really? Really, youve got to be kidding me!

Some people are so paralyzed by fear that it spills over into any conversations about that topic. Also weight is relative. It wasn't until I hit 300 lbs that people saw me as overweight. I'm almost 6 ft tall so they always say, wow, I never would have guessed it. Good for you for keeping your patience. That type of poor service is amazing.
  9. I had this for a long while (couple of weeks). The further out I got the better I could drink until around 4 weeks I was almost able to gulp. Understand that you are still so newly sleeved. Your entire body went through a change. Also, your throat could have gotten sore during the procedure. That is fairly common, so that may need to heal too. Give it some time and you'll feel back to normal. If you notice you cannot drink at all, then I'd say call your Dr. Good luck to you!!

    Vitamins

I liked the bariatric vitamins pre-op but post-op I could do the jello ones (Ameriwell Bariatrics brand) and Flinstone Complete. All others make me gag now.

    Syntrax Nectar

No problem! I wish I could give you all mine. I have the unflavored, Cookies, chocolate, and vanilla. Post-op I cannot do these. So I have 4 new ones (ran out the week before surgery) and I'm so ticked I just can't throw them away. Edited: 4 newly opened ones
  12. I had my first BM in the hospital at like 3 days out. However it can take as long as a week to a week in a half...but by then it will rip you a new one. I'd say try and take some stool softeners like it was mentioned above. As for foods, I was told I could have mashed potatoes (some Drs don't allow the starches), grits, cream of wheat (only once or twice), of course soft cheeses and ground up meats/fish.
  13. Keep us posted. Hope you feel better soon!

    Primal Cookies - Caveman Cookies!

They look good and I swear I could smell them through my computer screen. I think it's the hunger.

    Love and hate relationship

Everyone is soooo different. I thought for sure I'd have a problem with "heavier" meats but nope, crabs. I love them so much I'm just going to have to have my mourning period over it. I do plan to try other things I don't eat that often and see if maybe one of those can be my low carb Protein staple. I still have turkey at least. Plus, I tried blue crabs. Maybe another kind will not have this effect on me. Either way, I'm going to wait a bit. It is not sexy to throw up in the bathroom out in public. So I'll try another kind in a few months...at home!
  16. Most of us felt this way at some point in this journey. Calm down, take a step back and allow yourself to feel what you're feeling. Then remind yourself why you even considered this in the first place. Over time you'll start to feel a bit better about this. It's perfectly normal and you're not alone.

    Sip. Sip. Sip

It sounds like you are doing well. It does feel like this is the entire day during that phase, but you seem on point so good for you!

    Love and hate relationship

I feel you. More than anything I'm more annoyed with having to stop and think about my choices. Of course that is EXACTLY what I need to do. I'm also a bit bummed that my favorite food - crab I can no longer tolerate. I literally just threw up my entire lunch (baked crab salad) because crab is a no go for me. I tried it before and got sick but figured I'd try again. So I feel your pain. All the Vets say it will get better so I guess we just have to ride this part of the journey out.

    Non believers

Butter, I appreciate your post. I am almost as liberal as they come but also a believer though in no way shape or form fundamentalist. I think religion is one of those things that people on both sides (believers and non) get very wrong at times. Both sides in many instances feel the other is trying to convert/convince them one way or another. Let's all agree to stop that! My goal is to NOT walk around trying to convert people. Faith is a (in my view) very serious matter and I don't believe God wants me to try and "bring everyone to the light". In fact, through reading the Bible I think most people who take this approach are not only WRONG but doing the exact opposite of what God would want. Not every person that is a believer is going to beat you over the head, try to convert you, or believes that acceptance of science means your going to hell. I'm one of those that absolutely has read the Bible cover to cover and I read it because of my doubts - so very skeptical. By reading it, it brought me to what I feel is a closer relationship with God. That is, my OWN personal relationship with God. No one walking this earth can save another, so again...let's try and stop that! Just as no nonbeliever can convince someone not willing to stop believing. It's just not going to happen. It is a very sad state of affairs when people of all faiths (or no faith) cannot sign onto a support forum and just Celebrate with one another. I've been really saddened by the tone lately in some of the forums and also the intolerance on both sides. Sure, I attribute much of my success and overall peace to God, but again, that's about me and has nothing to do with anyone else. And BTW, I've also read the Torrah and Koran. I'm an avid studier of world cultures, religion, etc. I've met some great friends of all walks of life this way and wouldn't trade those friendships for the world. We respect and value each other and that's what counts.

    Not full

If plain water bothers you post-op (does for me) try either MiO or Crystal Light. I could not do CL as it is too sweet now, but MiO can be slowly brought up to taste. It has been my life saver as plain water just won't go down.
  21. Oh please post the recipe. I'd love to see those, esp the pumpkin!

    Sooooo over it

I feel your pain, I'm almost 9 weeks out and I've been stalled for a total of 7 weeks. However, my inch loss has been awesome. Have you lost many inches? I don't measure myself but I just gave away 3 large trashbags full of clothes that no longer fit. Creating a whole new problem I don't mind. I'm down 2 sizes (almost 3) so I know my body is working. Keep up the hard work and eventually this will break. I know Cheri had 2 - 9 week stalls during her loss phase. So you're not alone. Hugs to you!!

    Sugar free equals diarrhea?

Also, Xylitol (found in a lot of gums and other sugar free items) is known to cause stomach issues. I like the suggestion above to try each one and see which one irritates you.
