  1. I told my husband we should watch that. He is diabetic and having a hard time getting his sugar under control. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
  2. I had surgery dec 2012, i gained almost 40 pounds back from not eating right and not excercising. The good thing is though, its a tool, if you use your tool, you can lose. I am happy to say that i have lost that weight and continuing on a downward spiral...thank goodness. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am 3 1/2 years post op and went to have gallbladder removed and bloodwork showed anemia. 7.6 was my hemoglobin. I too feel horrible. No energy. Starting on Iron tablets hoping that will help. I am also scheduled for endoscopy and colonoscopy just to make sure its not from blood loss, but i am sure it has to do with the sleeve. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

    Potty troubles?

I had the same problem post op and the surgeon told me it was normal not to go after surgery. So 3 weeks out I had gone maybe twice and that was always with milk of magnesia. Last Sunday I ended up in the ER I had an obstruction. Still battling "potty issues". I take 3 stool softeners a day and nothing. I have an appointment this week with my surgeon, something has got to give, I feel miserable. Hope things get better for you.

    maybe TMI but

I ended up in ER because of this problem. I have been taking stool softener a but guess my water intake wasn't enough. Most embarrassing and painful experience in my life. Still "trying" to get it all cleared out. Heard Miralax is good to take????

    No Energy

Day 11 here post op and having bad day too. I went back to work last week and I really think I have pushed myself far to much. I have no energy. I just want to sleep. Hopefully this is just a phase we go through. Best of luck to you.

    before an after

    You look great! Good job!!!
  11. I am beginning my week of full liquids. I am having a time getting enough water to keep from getting dehydrated even though I feel like I am drinking all day. My question is, since I can have soup, how much can you eat? Being that it is strained, is there a limit we should eat at a time? The soup goes down a lot better than just plain water but I don't want to eat too much and stretch my sleeve. Of course I don't think I am eating more than 1/2 a cup at a time. Thanks for any input.

    Crying

Oh yes I spent my entire lunch at work one day crying. My husband thinks I am the meanest person on earth right now. I e minute I am fine next I am angry or crying. I am 6 days post op. I think my think is that Christmas was liquids and New Years is liquids and I love both of those days
  13. No protein here. I tried the unjury chicken broth but I just couldn't handle the taste. I have one more day till full liquids and hope to be able to drink the Protein Drinks at that time.
  14. I am 5 days post op and in the hospital they said aim for 2oz per hour but now it's 60 oz per day. If I drink more than 3oz in an hour I am doing good. Anyone else having the same problem? I am drinking water and Gatorade can't stand broth (think I wore that out per op).

    Having doubts!

My surgery is tomorrow also and I have had a really bad day. The thoughts of what if I am doing the wrong thing? What if something happens and I don't come home? What if I can never eat this or that again. Well, I was so upset by my own thoughts I had to come home and just go to sleep to keep myself from just flipping out. I woke up in a better frame of mind. I am doing this for me. I am doing this for a healthier life. If I don't do this, I won't be around much longer because my health has suffered because of my weight. I am sure my husband will enjoy a more energetic wife and my kids will enjoy having an active mom for a change. We all have doubts that is normal. What we have to focus on is the goal and why we started this process in the first place. Best of luck to you tomorrow.

  19. Mine is the day after Christmas and I have had doubts also. I have had an emotional two weeks being on the liquid diet. I have had to battle my "head hunger" more than anything. I am confident this is the right answer for me. I have already lost 22 pounds as of last weeks weigh in and I am sure more now. It feels good to be on the losing side rather than the gaining side. Good luck on your surgery and keep us posted.

    Scared of...

I am afraid of a leak. Afraid of going through this process and not losing "enough" weight. Afraid of having an emotional melt down from not having food to turn to (this pre op diet has been VERY hard for me) Afraid I will have to stay in the hospital longer than expected or having a complication. Afraid I will not be able to return to normal as quickly as I would want. My surgery is also December 26 and I am ready for the other side.
  21. I am having surgery Dec 26 and I have been on the pre op diet since the 12th and I am having a lot of trouble with this. Food is everywhere. I try to keep in mind the goal. It is tough. I know how the people on "intervention" feel about giving up their drugs now....food is my drug.
  22. Got my surgery date, December 26, I am so excited.
