Someone Advised Me Against The Surgery Today...
CarrieP replied to beba238's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know how you feel. My inlaws kinda freaked out when they found out what I was doing. They even came over to "talk" to me about it. Like I had just woke up one day and said hey I'm gonna have my stomach removed..LOL People just don't realize our struggle how hard it is. We all take chances in life. I realize there's always a danger with surgery but its dangerous walking across a busy street. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

I really don't want to gain anymore weight before my surgery in the new year but I think well why not eat it cause I won't be able to after surgery.. Sent from my iPhone using VST

That's great for you. I've only met with him once and he seems very nice. He told me the popularity of the lap-band has been declining. I also have a friend that is having hers removed. I'm so excited to have my surgery done and over with. If it could do it tomorrow I would. But I decided to wait till the new year so I won't waste my deductible. He did also say I would probably have to have my gallbladder out either before or after the sleeve. Well good luck to you.. Keep posting on your progress -

Hey everybody! I'm from Springfield mo. I have done my first consult, first dietitian consult and waiting for my psych evaluation. I am hoping to have surgery either end of jan or feb 2013. My Dr is Dr Woods he's at Cox south hospital. Anybody else close in the area? -
So why is it that your not susposed to drink 30min before or after eating? Or even as your eating? Does it " flush you out"? Or is it because of absorbing nutrients and filling up too fast?? Thanx Carrie Getting sleeves in the new year!

See that's what I'm stressing about too. Even tough nothing's been said you just never know. Can I ask what insurance you have? I've been thinking about possibly getting mine approved this year but having surgery beginning of next. -
Introduction Hey There
CarrieP replied to Mrsdawsondn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good to meet you! I too have struggled with my weight most of my life. I am at my highest weight (except when I was pregnant I hit the big 300) now I am at 270. I have gained 20 of the last pounds since may of this year. Since my mom passed away. I can really feel the weight taking a toll on me. I have absolutely no energy, I have recently developed high blood pressure and am pre diabetic. I just feel completely miserable all the time. After struggling the past couple of year financially my husband found a great job with great health insurance. So I decided to finally do something for myself and get the sleeve. I have met with the surgeon and have my first meeting with the dietitian on Monday yea! I can't wait to get it done and over with. You got do it for yourself and no body else.
