Call your Dr ASAP. You could have a leak. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I had a drain they put it in during the surgery. Not all Drs do this though. It's to make sure you don't have any leaks. When u drink anything blue or green it will show up in the drain if you have a leak. The drain doesn't hurt it's just kinda a pain in the butt. Especially when showering. It feels weird when they take it out doesn't hurt just feels strange. I had mine in for 2weeks. Just ask your Dr if he's gonna use one. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Ok post sleevers so how do you know if your gallbladder is going bad? I've had some problems in the past I get a kinda dull pain in my back. I was sleeved on March 25th everything been going good today I got that feeling again. My Dr didn't wanna take my gallbladder out at the same time as my sleeve surgery. He said something about if it was infected he didn't wanna risk infecting my new stomach. So what if any symptoms do you experience when your gallbladder is going bad? Sent from my iPhone using VST

One month surgery-versary
CarrieP replied to BlessedBeyondMeasure2012's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My 1 month is today too! I can't believe it's already been a month. I also can't see any difference in myself but i do notice is my clothes getting bigger. I'm down 16 lbs from surgery ( wish it was more) and total of 28lbs. The scale hasn't moved for a couple days :-( Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Anybody ever try them? What did you think? I'm just having a hard time with Protein powders and shakes. I know I don't eat enough to get my daily protein in. Sent from my iPhone using VST

CarrieP replied to racoon_439's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I so know the feeling! I eat too fast then it feels like its stuck in my throat! Then I wanna drink something to each it down! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Symptoms of dumping syndrome are most common during a meal or within 15 to 30 minutes following a meal. They include: Gastrointestinal Nausea Vomiting Abdominal cramps Diarrhea Feeling of fullness Cardiovascular Flushing Dizziness, lightheadedness Heart palpitations, rapid heart rate This explains it pretty good Sent from my iPhone using VST

I was sleeved on march 25th. I have dumped a couple times on because I ate stuff I shouldent have. In my opinion the sleeve is a better choice because of the malabsorption that you have with bypass. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Depression and Crying
CarrieP replied to Lizanne Martin Skorupski's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had no problem taking mine. You don't wanna get off it especially right now. The withdrawals can be awful from what I read. My Dr was never concerned with me taking it as far as it getting stuck or anything. I guess you could open it and take it that way if needed. Bit the XR is timed release so opening it might affect it. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
what are you guys eating 3weeks out
CarrieP replied to toy27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on march 25th. I only did the liquid thing for a week or so. I eat whatever I want of corse though maybe only 3 or 4 bites and I can feel that I'm full. I know I'm not getting anywhere near 60 grams of Protein daily. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
You'll do great! The first couple of days you'll probably be saying what the h@ll did I do to myself?? I did. I was sleeved on march 25th. But when you feel and see the weight starting to come off it will all be worth it. I was scared this being my first time going under. I thought for sure I would either not go under and feel anything or wake up during the surgery. Give yourself time to heal. I'm just starting to get my energy back. Of corse everybody's different :-) Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Was it hard for you to
CarrieP replied to NewAshes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your appetite changes so do your tastes. You can eat what you want but you eat too much or something too fattening or too much sugar your gonna pay for it. It was really hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea of only being able to take a few bits of something and I was full. Especially when everbody around me is stuffing their faces and I take two bites and I feel like the food is stuck in my throat. It takes time but you just make it your new life style. Good luck to you Sent from my iPhone using VST -
What did it feel like when you woke up from surgery?
CarrieP replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I woke up to an older guy next to me screaming about I don't know what. Then I was in and out of it for the rest of the day. As for pain they drugged me up good on that first day I was sleeved on the 25th of march. Day two sucked but I've lost 30lbs so I'd do it over in a heart beat. Good luck :-) Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I hurt myself riding my mower! Be carefull. I was sleeved on 3-25. Remember your insides are still healing :-) Sent from my iPhone using VST

To Dump Or Not To Dump
CarrieP replied to bobaloo11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep I was sleeved march 25th. I've dumped a few times when I ate something I knew I shouldent have. Yea I learned my lesson! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
I was sleeved march 25th. I know how you feel. Nervous or scared of the unknown. I will be done and over before you know it. Just try and walk when you can. If you have any stomach cramping just take deep breathes to help you through it. You'll do great! Good luck Sent from my iPhone using VST

Thank everybody! Guess I just gotta remember my body's still healing! Sent from my iPhone using VST

What is the in-hospital experience like?
CarrieP replied to BriDawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea you definitely don't get good sleep till you get home. My stay was ok. Bed was uncomfortable my neighbors husband stayed with her 24-7 so it was kinda crowded. And they kept bringing in Chinese food and Taco Bell. So I was pretty much starving the whole time :-/ Sent from my iPhone using VST
