Dallas, Texas Sleevers! !
Mike Cook replied to attractiveval's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Anybody go to the support group in Rockwall? I think there is one tomorrow night and I'm gonna go. Never been to a support group meeting so I'm not really sure what to expect, but it couldn't hurt right? I've stalled about twenty pounds from my goal and I need a little help/inspiration!! -
I've got this pain in my middle back just below my shoulder blades that kinda concerns me. It only bothers me if Im sitting with my back un-supported (like on a bench) or walking slowly (grocery shopping). If I sit down on the couch or lay down it will go away. It feels like a muscle strain. Its not agonizing pain but it is very uncomfortable. I called my surgeons office about it and they dismissed it as "air in my abdomin from surgery". I went for my one month check up on 12-4-12 and the P.A. immediately said "It's pain radiating from the mesh they put in on your left side". Everything else has been great, lost 70lbs since I started the pre-op diet on 10-18-12 and all my other pains have been GREATLY reduced. Anybody else having this issue? Pain from the mesh?

Well the pain did go away on its own after a full year. Guess my muscles just weren't used to the body. -

Thant seems to be the way mine is. No problems in the morning but the more I stand or sit at the computer (straight up,no back support) the worse it gets. -

Well to be honest I don't recall them saying how long it would last but assumed that it would go away by now, if thats what the pain is caused by. -

They said that they put a mesh under the left most incision because it was the largest and it would give tissue something better to adhere too. -

I was sleeve by dr Kim in frisco on Nov 1. I live in Rockwall I lost 30lbs pre-op and 30 so far post op. My highest was 394. Iwas 378 when i started my preop diet and today Im 318. Oh so happy!!! -
This morning I woke up a little nauseated but not bad. Took all my meds plus started back on my Allopurinol (for Gout) that I was taking before surgery(surgery was 11/1/12 BTW) because my Dr. said it was Ok. About an hour later I break out in a sweat. No chills but my heart did feel like it was beating faster than normal. This feeling lasted about an hour and went away. I haven't ate anything this morning but I did eat 8oz. of strained cream of mushroom soup made with 2% hi-protein milk last night. I felt EXTREMELY full after doing that. That had me worrying that I may have gotten a leak. I hate to say it but I've been eating the same 8oz. every night because I thought that was what I was supposed to be eating. I always feel very full after doing so. Just read my B-book this morning and found that Im only supposed to be eating 4oz. (Oops!) It's 2 hours later now and I feel fine. What was that? A little dump maybe? Anybody else have this happen?

What Was That? Leak Scare.

That thought briefly crossed my mind but that is the way I've always taken my meds. Guess this is one more thing I need to modify in my life. Small price to pay for a new me !!! Thanks -
I know what you mean. I am 19 days out and I have a little "remorse" every day. I've lost 51 pounds since I started(Oct.18) the liquid diet though and that makes it all worth while. Started at 378 now at 327. I just miss food. Its getting better every day though !!!! Hang in there.
