  1. This January will be two years Post-Op for me. I've been using the Chewable Flinstone Gummies as recommended from my Weight Center. (2 Gummies per day) I was just curious. What do you use? Can I just take Normal Centrum tablets now? Do I take one a day or two a day? I don't see why not. I take other tablets. My follow up is this January. Any input would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance for your time have a great day
  2. Hi everyone. So I got the sleeve 2 years ago this January. No problems at all. Down 140lbs. Then this past january had pain went to the ER had to have emergency surgery that same day (following morning actually) for my gallbladder. But now since having that removed I have all these stomach issues. It's very sensitive these days. Especially in the morning. I try to keep fatty foods to a minimum and also coffee. dairy as well. But now this past friday night I got sharp stabbing pains in my stomach. maybe 3-4 of them. then during the night a little discomfort in my mid section, and yes around the belly button region. it lasted until around saturday night. today it's a little sensitive. no more naval discomfort and no more sharp stabbing pains thank god. but it's still a worrying to me. and there is a little discomfort. No vomiting, no bloody urine or stool and no fever. only one case of diahrea but since the gallbladder that seems to be my new norm every now and then. I plan on calling my PCP in the morning for a check up but I was wondering if anyone has gone thru something like this? to be honest I think it's my appendix. From what I've ready it's very common after gallbladder removal. but i mean, first my stomach then gall bladder now this? I'll have nothing left! and i know from what I've read it's considered 'minor surgery' from what we've already been thru but it's still surgery. I just want to catch it before it bursts! thank you in advance for your input. hope all is well
  3. So I had sleeve surgery last January almost at the one year marker (the 30th). All in all I think I'm doing great lost a good amount of excess weight: I don't eat and drink at the same time. Main issues are I still eat fast sometimes and when I do I get these awful gas pains that start in my ribs and spread throughout my back. I notice it when I eat too fast or to much or sometimes if I eat potato chips which I try not to for obvious reasons. Also I have two small babies at home so during I work I drink more coffee than water. Also with two kids and a crazy work schedule it's hard to always remember to take my vitamins. In closing I hope all is well with you guys and gals. Hope the new year is treating you we'll. and if anyone has any tips hints or suggestions it's greatly appreciated. Oh as for the extreme gas pain I've been trying pepper mint tea, gas-ex, fennel seeds and walking and water.
  4. Hey guys guess what !???!! It was my gallbladder it was full of stones one of which was clogging the duct and the doctor said it was massive like the gallbladder itself was huge she said I caught it in the perfect time by going to the ER ugh what a journey lol tnx again
  5. Hi thanks guys. Yes I still have my gallbladder and I don't take anything for reflux. I never burp or have heat burn or anything. Just occasionally probably 5-6 times in a year I've had this extreme gas pain in the ribs and migrates towards my back it's miserable
  6. Thank you I really appreciate it !!
  7. man don't know what to do. hurts so bad. tried 2 gas-ex tablets already and i can only eat 4 per day. just went outside in freezing weather and walked for 15 minutes. it did nothing. chewing mint gum now. will have to chew my last 2 tablets really soon. not sure what's going on. i try my best not to eat past 8pm..tonight was 2 small slices of pizza. last time this happened at night it was also pizza. if i eat pizza during the day i am fine. (1-2 small slices- nothing extreme or crazy). help ?
  8. i think/hope so. ive had it this bad maybe like 2-4 times since surgery ..always passes with time. 2nd time though ive noticed it was pizza at night. @harlemLoser, did you put the heating pad directly on the painful spot ?
  9. that's the thing i'll be a year out in January. im down almost 140lbs...but this gas is killing me
  10. today is sunday february 3rd. today is the superbowl and also my BIRTHDAY!!! i am 5 days out (i got sleeved on tuesday the 29th of Jan) and feel pretty good. gas and stomach pain has seemed to give me a break today. it's almost 2:00 EST here in boston and I haven't taken any pain meds yet. i start my day with my 2 chewable centrum vitamins (btw i def need liquid centrum. i don't the like the taste or smell of the chewable). then i drink like a Sobe Zero water or Vitamin Water Zero. then i take my Sublingual B12. then i'll have a water bottle. (all slow sips of course). then i'll take a quick 10 minute walk outside. then come back, try like a special K drink or i'll have the instant carnation breakfast with a little ice and fat free milk. then my calcium tablet. then more water. then maybe another vitamin water. sometimes if i feel hungry i'll make tomato soup for dinner. then i take my 2nd calcium tablet. more water so on and so forth. been showering daily and i love it. needed it too lol. Just wanted to share. hope i'm doing the right thing. hope this helps others too. any questions or tips please feel free to comment or leave me a private message. thanks, Mark
  11. Hi almost 5 months post op. Can I use mederma cream on my surgery scars ??? To make them less noticeable ? Thanks
  12. Hi I'm four months post op...down 90lbs total. Can we eat popcorn? Or are the shells/kernels bad for the sleeve? Do they stick or get stuck or hurt the sleeve at all ??
  13. wow, thank you everyone. your input/advice/thoughts are much appreciated. i love this site and i love you all. thank you again have a wonderful day. i did end up going to the movies. i had a small popcorn without butter and without salt. it was great. i was content and full. waited 30 minutes and washed it down with a water. thanks again
  14. so I had sleeve surgery 3 and 1/2 months and i feel ok. i've lost 90lbs so far but here's the thing. i'm always tired/exhausted. i'll admit, i don't always get my protein in and sometimes i miss my calcium but i always drink water, always take my flinstones vitamins and B12...i just want to know, is this normal ??? i'll also admit between working 50 hours a week and having a 15 month old and a pregnant wife, i don't always get to the gym, so maybe i don't exercise enough?? i'm just worried. also my hair started to thin out a bit and fall out a bit so my doctor said take a B-Complex with Biotin.....but do i take that plus the sublingual vitamin B12 ???? do you think if i drink more protein shakes and exercise more, do you think the fatigue will end? maybe increase the H2O some more ?? please help thanks
  15. lol yeah @kcw...the gummies are on my "approved" vitamin list that i got at my weight center. they're Flinstone Complete.
  16. hi guys. had sleeve surgery on 01/29/13. i've lost 90lbs so far (20 before surgery) so long story, my hair is starting to fall out. little by little. not in big clumps or anything. i know this is a side effect but i was wondering if there's anything i can do. also will it grow back? should i start propecia or rogaine? just a little nervous here. i know it's just hair and cosmetic but i want to try and keep it as long as i can. thanks in advance
  17. So yesterday marked 10 weeks Post-Op and I think I'm doing great. down almost 80lbs (20lbs was pre-op). Now i should also add that I have a 1 year old and my wife is also currently pregnant so I'm picking up a lot of slack around the house but long story short. I am exhausted all the time. I'm really tired. And i think a little dehydrated. I say that because everymorning i wake up my mouth is dry like the desert. Also I havent been all that great with my protein shakes and my calcium+D vitamins. i do drink plenty of water though. do you think the lack of protein, water and calcium is causing this? met with MD yesterday and he said all my labs are normal and fine. anyone feel like this? any and all advice is greatly appreciated thank you
  18. hi i was sleeved on 01/29/13. down almost 80lbs (20 was pre-op) moving on... i feel so weak and tired. i mean raising my arms to wash my hair takes a lot out of me. did labs a week ago and everything was normal. am i over tired? is this normal? i've been walking at the gym but havent touched weights yet. should i increase my exercise and start lifting again? before surgery i was a bull. i mean i was lifting 35lb dumbells without an issue. now i feel like i would struggle with 5lbs. my 25lbs daughter seems as if im lifting a fridge. is this normal? should i increase my protein and start lifting? or maybe its all in my head and im just getting sick. it's almost like flu-like symptoms. ugh hope this passes. in the meantime ill increase my water and protein like advised from previous posts. thanks in advance for your input
  19. @Jennabelle I am weak but i can get out of bed and i can move. i just feel sore like i just worked out. does that make sense? I'm not in physical pain or anything just sore like i said. I am a little stuffed up nasally and sometimes my nose is runny and sometimes i cough up phlem but rarely. thats why i think i'm sick/getting sick. i think if im not better by monday ill call my doctor.
  20. yeah id say this started recently. im always drinking at least 64 ounces a day. i always get plenty of fluid but i def lack protein and sleep!!
  21. thanks Richard I appreciate your input.
  22. hi guys tomorrow makes 10 weeks post op. almost down 80lbs. i am great with drinking my water and taking my gummy flinstones and my vitamin B but sometimes i forget my calcium and i dont always drink protein shakes. my recent blood lab test showed that my vitamin d was low (probably bc i dont take my calcium+D everyday) i am trying hard to set reminders. for all my vitamins and protein. anyone else feeling like this or having these issues?
  23. hi guys been a while. got sleeved on 01-29-13. lost a total of 70 pounds thus far, looking to lose a lot more. however i have stopped for a little bit. the "plateau" phase maybe? haven't lost in almost 7-10 days. oh well. I'll keep working on it. anyways, regarding coffee. I haven't had coffee since September. But now....I have a 1 year old baby and my wife is also 4 months pregnant. Needless to say, I am on no sleep. My daughter is teething and I'm up all night. I can't function the next day. I know it can dehydrate me so what I'm doing today....(my first coffee since Sept) i got a small ice coffee - 1/2 regular 1/2 decaf with skim milk. and i plan on drinking an extra 20oz of Water at least. Speaking of which, i always take my multi gummies and my Vitamin B but sometimes I forget to take my calcium+D. i def feel it too. i feel tired and weak and sometimes lazy. I think it's because i hate the chewable tablets. i need to buy more of those little chocolate chew bites. Yesterday on easter i did watch what i ate. I did notice i got some stomach pain on the left side yesterday. I'm thinking it was because my new jeans were tight and not because I overate. still trying to stay clear of bread Pasta and rice, even Cereal. hope you all had a good easter. thanks for reading. and I appreciate all and any input/advice. thank you
  24. usually it happens around dinner time. i work all day. i eat light snacks throughout the day so i don't get "starving" but i don't know what it is. Maybe force of habit? When i get home and sit down to a table full of food. It's like I'm back at my old ways. i sit down I'm hungry and i see food. i start eating. i take big bites like i used to and i don't chew it thoroughly. make sense? i need to start reminding myself before i sit down and eat that i need to take small bites and chew chew chew. anyone else going thru this? any tips?
  25. now don't worry. i know i've posted before back when i was just 10 days out. but now i'm almost 2 months out and i really feel good. i can eat meat, chicken, and fish. i can eat baked crackers. i've even tried soft Pasta. (small ravioli) all SMALL PORTIONS of course. i don't want to ruin or hurt myself or my sleeve. I've even tried a little bread and some whole wheat wrap. i am NOT eating sandwiches or subs or bowls of pasta or anything like that. NO fries and no burgers or anything. just a nibble of bread and pasta here and there. and once and a while..some baked crackers. NOT greasy chips. NO ice cream and no pastry. I must admit i've been really lucky. no nausea and no pains.I just can't eat a lot. I fill up really fast. I'm just curious. has anyone else tried anything? can you handle it? i've always stated in other posts how i don't want to eat carbs too often anymore. I'm afraid of gaining weight back and also I'm afraid of slowing down my new weight loss. so far i am down 70lbs in just 7 weeks. i think my progress is pretty good. i want to keep it going. thanks for reading. i value your time, thoughts, and input
