I have a 12 year old beautiful daughter but she has started skipping lunch at school. I don't eat as much at the dinner table like I used to,but she obviously sees that I eat a fraction of what I used to, we all still sit down together. I'm wondering if I'm having a negative affect on her? She is not over weight at all, she does not know I had the surgery but I was wondering how mums cope with daughters who have food issues? How can you tell your child that she needs to eat to be healthy but you can't do that yourself? I may be worrying about nothing but I kind of feel like I'm sending out the wrong message.

NEVER eating a french fry again!
Best of British replied to Alicia0022's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We were on a long journey in the car and stopped off for a McDonalds for the kids. I had half of a chicken Mayo and was as sick as a dog all the way home. I thought it was the bread to be honest...never again though. And for those who start their sentence 'I'm not the food police, but...' Just don't!! Every single person here knows what they should eat and drink, That's the beauty about this surgery, you find out what works for YOU. -

I hate it when people who don't agree with you or don't like the way you have coped with your surgery (or don't like what your surgeon said, even) have an opinion on YOUR life. people ask questions because they want honest answers to our REAL experiences. Everyone is different and ultimately it is up to the individual person to find out what works for them but don't chastise someone for having a different experience to you or your surgeon.

I completely agree but from what I understand (and I'm not an expert) ketosis happens when you are on a very low-carb diet. Drinking wine is full of sugar therefore it is is inevitable that this will throw you out of ketosis. I am strictly sticking to vodka!!!

5'5" Women....what is your goal weight or size?
Best of British replied to VSGRachel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5' 4" and my original goal was 150 but I am 168 now and still feel huge-I'm not sure if I'm suffering from the 'head thing' like my mind hasn't caught up with the body kind of thing. I must admit though, I'm one of those girls who wants to be really skinny. -
When I drop my weight, I'm going to try (insert answer)!

OMG thanks for the laughs!! I am going to take my blonde, gorgeous, skinny, 22 year old step twins on holiday to IBIZA!!! -
Just to let you know that the quote (in grey) at the top of my post are NOT my words, they were someone else's who was being particularly nasty. I am the one asking 'who the hell do you think you are?' Peace.

I will challenge you on what you think you know. I will question your motives and your decisions. I will make you doubt yourself and question your thought process. If you can't handle it, you can "block" me and you will never see a post of mine again. Just know, you will only be running from what is difficult instead of facing it head on. Anyone who perserves and pushes through it, learns to love me. Because they overcome the obstacles and gain true insight into who they are and why they make the decisions that they do. Who the hell do you think you are??

Didn't work did it?

Wine or no Wine?
Best of British replied to ThinnerTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think many people are going to get into this, just read the post 'alcohol' to see how touchy some people are about a little drink!! I can only tell you my personal experience and that is I have had alcohol since being sleeved and have had no problems whatsoever. -
Ha Ha! Told Ya!! Just being honest and as I have never attempted to jump off a bridge I couldn't possibly comment. I would also like you to point out where I encouraged her to drink alcohol? The only advice I gave her was to ignore the Trolls and have a nice birthday!!
-
I drank at maybe 10 days out and it wasn't just a few sips either, I had a fair few double vodka's (I'm gonna get slammed for this) and was perfectly fine. It doesn't sound to me that you want to go out and get wasted so ignore all the harsh comments you have received and have a Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

I confess that I read every single post & could confess to 99% of them! I confess that I still drink vodka & tonic every week. I confess that me & my boyfriend have been arguing about number 1 for the last 3 weeks. I confess I want to be 1 year ahead. I confess I want to bump into my ex-boyfriend when I'm super slim. -
After All This What If It Doesn't Work......in Tears
Best of British replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, you don't know me...but I know you!! I researched the gastric sleeve for a year before having mine done (25th Oct), I've read every single thread on here. I am also on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster at the moment, I love that I have lost 22 pounds but although I feel like I don't miss food per se, I miss sitting round the dining table, eating, drinking wine and chatting. I know I can still do that, but after 2-3 mouthfuls, I feel sick and tired and I'm just not myself any more. I will say that I am not a good person, I've given up on the protein shakes and I take my vitamins sporadically, I hardly eat but because liquids go down well I have been compensating with vodka and I am smoking too much as well. I am dreading all the Christmas do's I have to go to. I realise what I am doing wrong just by reading my own reply x x x x x x -
Hi Cathy. I know what you mean, It can't just fall off can it?! Like you say, it takes time to put it on so it's got to take time to get it off. Although it is MUCH easier to put it on than to lose it! I'm trying to be realistic, I'm not weighing myself everyday and I'm well prepared for a loss, then a stall, then a loss and so on. I also know that it will take longer if you have less to lose (BOO) I went with Prague Beauty, not seen many posts on them but they were really good. I am also craving toast! It's nice to know I can have it eventually, I didn't especially want to go on a strict diet for the rest of my life, just something to help with the amount I can eat, just some control I guess. I joined myfitnesspal a couple of days ago and think that the food tracker is ace, beats trying to write it all down! My partner is 52 and have a couple of friends that are around the same age as you...it's Fab to be Fifty!! Hang in there, from everything I've read it will come off!! Let me know how you get on x x x x P.S Not sure if I'm doing this right, I can't email you straight back, so I copied and pasted ? ?

Mmmmmm Coops, a pint and a sandwich-now you're talking my kinda language! New York?! I remember my school trips, we were lucky to go to Alton Towers for the day! Mind you, my Son (15) went skiing to Austria last year so just goes to show how things change, well jel too! I was also self pay but went to Czech Republic so I believe it was cheaper than UK, I had a fantastic experience and would recommend them to anyone. Good Luck with the boxing (((ducks))) x x x x
