  1. My advice... 1) As soon as the anesthesia wears off GET UP. The more you walk walk walk the better you feel. 2) sip all day long, it's your new mission to get in the protein and water. 3) sleep in an elevated position for a couple of nights (I ended up in my recliner a few nights). 4) keep track of what you eat and drink in a journal. I forget what I have had because it takes so long to finish something. 5) find a protein powder you like now. I tried several pre-op that tasted horrible. It makes it easier post op when you are having to force it down. I am 1 1/2 weeks out and haven't had any complications. I wish you well.
  2. Sf jello. Warm broth. Decaf white tea with splenda and a drop of lemon. Pedialyte popsicles.

    Don't Overdo It!

I am 1.5 weeks out and I too overdid it. I felt like I could do whatever, but am definitely paying for it today. Rest is on the menu for today.
  4. One day post-op. Feeling like a million bucks!! Barium swallow in a few minutes, then on to my first liquids. Hopefully out of the hospital by noon. I have so much energy. Pain is VERY minimal (only in one site of 6). Walked at least 10 laps last night and this morning. Showered, dressed and ready to start my new healthy life! I hope this journey continues to be uncomplicated. Best of luck to all of you that are sharing in this experience.

    Any Nov 15Th Sleevers?

Awesome! I all smiles over here. Not in too much pain. Only pain is in the largest of the surgical cuts. Mouth is like I ate an entire bag of cotton balls.

    Any Nov 15Th Sleevers?

Hey beetracy! I am in Bryan, and will be sleeved tomorrow as well!! If I could choose one word to describe the way I'm feeling now, it's ANXIOUS!!! Good luck to all of you.
  10. Hi all! My name is Diane and I am scheduled for the sleeve on 11/15. I am in the midst of my 2 week pre-op diet, and am doing great! I am down about 8 lbs just this week! My final pre-op appointment is today. I am still in disbelief that this is going to happen, as I have been researching and considering this surgery for 3 years. I have a 3yo son and he is my motivation. I can't wait to once again enjoy my life. I have been battling with weight since I was in my teens, and it's time to do something drastic to change my life. I really appreciate all of the support I get from this site and look forward to a long 'relationship' with all of you fellow sleevers!!
  11. I chose to tell only those that I knew would be supportive. I was surprised when MIL and extended family were so excited they started going to the pre op support groups with me and they too have decided to have the surgery. Surprised that my husband is not as supportive as I thought. He still thinks diet and exercise would have the same success. I asked, "if that was the case do you really think I would do something so drastic?". Now he goes back and forth saying if I'm successful he'll look into for himself. My brother is the one I will not be telling. He works very hard to stay fit and healthy and I've heard him say that WLS is the "easy way out". To the contrary, this will be the hardest and most difficult thing I have ever done to control my weight/health.
