40 Y.O.,Obese since childhood, want to lose 150?
TXdjvsg replied to SerendipityHappens's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not quite 40, but close at 36. I have been overweight my entire life. I can remember my earliest embarrassment having to do with my weight in the 3rd grade. Physical fitness day at school. We were in line to be weighed and I was 115 lbs. The kids around me were mortified that I was in the 100's. Fast forward 25 years later and I was sitting at an even 300. The sleeve surgery has changed my life. I have lost 100.2 lbs thus far. My surgery was 11/15/12, so I reached my first and second goal in 6.5 months. I now weigh 199.8! I still have 40-45 lbs to go to hit a healthy bmi and body fat %, but I am well on my way! Good luck to you all! -
Century club and ONEderland in the same day!!!! I DID IT!!! 100.2 lbs lost, and now I'm officially below the 200lb mark!!! I will never see my scale lead with a "2" again!!! ~ Doing the happy dance ~ woohoo!!!

Have stalled at 6 months
TXdjvsg replied to Dallasgrl47's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I am also in a stall of sorts. My scale keeps telling me that I gain and lose the same lb everyday! Has anyone tried increasing protein, calories, water or carbs and found that any of them actually works? There are so many suggestions to break the stall, but surely there's someone that has tried and succeeded. I have 40 lbs to goal and really getting discouraged. I have increased exercise to shock my body, but to no avail. I will keep at it, but feel there's something else I can do. Help!! Surgery date 11/15/12. -

Good morning November sleevers. Just a quick check-in for me. Highest weight 300 lbs. Surgery weight 289 (11/15/12). Current weight 206.4! That's a total of 93.6 pounds GONE forever! I am so close to the 100 weight loss mark, and just as close to being in the one hundred's in weight. Hoping to hit that mark in the next week or two. Feeling great and loving my new life!!! -

Today is my birthday. I had a goal to reach 100 lbs lost by today. I am sitting at 87 lbs lost. I am sad that I didn't reach this mark, but I know I will sometime in the near future. My life has changed so much in the last 5.5 months. I am so grateful for my sleeve and all the encouragement and support my sleeve family has given me. -

Let me start be saying that I am very happy with the amount I have lost to this point. I was sleeved 11/15/12 and am down 82 lbs. the problem is, I have so much more to lose and at the rate I'm losing at now it will take a VERY long time to get there. I'm stressing because I hear that most weight is lost within the first year after surgery. I'm only losing 1-2 lbs per week (sometimes less) and still need to lose 60 more. Are any of you in this situation? Should I try to go back liquids for a bit or increase calories for a bit? I hear suggestions for both, just don't know which works. Currently I am only getting 800-900 calories per day, 60-70 grams of protein. Work out 4-5 days/week. Any advise/suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

Good day "losers"! I am 4 months post op and 75 lbs down and went from size 3x-4x (26/28 ) clothing to 1x (18/20). Wooohoooo!!!! Feeling great and loads of energy. Working out at least 4-5 times per week. I'm still struggling to get all my water in, and am averaging 800-900 calories per day. Every once in a while I get that hungry feeling. . Anybody else experiencing hunger at this stage in the game? HW:300 10/2012 SW:289 11/2011 CW: 224.8. -
Yes, I go to the support groups at Physicians Centre 2x per month. I am 4 months out and 75 lbs down. So glad you are feeling good.

I've heard people say to increase calories, protein and water to break stalls. You're body needs to know you're still feeding it so it doesn't go into 'starvation/survival' mode. I have hit 3 stalls already, and I'm only 3 months out. They are so frustrating! Hope yours breaks soon.

I just started beef jerky. I love it and so protein dense. Great snack (and sometimes meal coupled with a cheese stick)!
