I have been told it is safe to have an MRI after having the sleeve. If you are worried you can always ask your doc

Trip report Am home resting.. I can get out of bed without looking too much like a turtle that has been flipped. Still quiet a bit of pain and Nausea. Got my blood thinner shot in but scared to try and take the omeprizol. Want to remind everyone in the hospital that you are your best (only) advocate... If someone says they will be back to do something don't assume they are going to. Wait 2 minutes and ten page someone else to do it. I sat for waaaay too long at times waiting for help that was supposed to come and didn't. Good luck sleevers :7

Size 20 & 22 Jeans Free

My doctor has a clothing exchange a few times a year. Everyone brings their clothes in and exchanges them for another size. Whatever is left gets donated to charity. (Not that it helps you get rid of yours, but you might talk to your doctor about doing something similar) -
Depends on your insurance and yours doctors and you. Some people go from first appointment to surgery in a month or two, some have been at it for almost a year.

One Before Preop Diet And Eating Like A Pregnant Lady
Kivtuar replied to newgirltx's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried not to over eat too much, but I definitely had a list of places/things I wanted to eat "one more time". I ended up starting my pre-op a day early because I was worried if I spent the last day KNOWING it was the last day, I'd regret the amount of food/junk I'd eat. I haven't really regretted it. Well, once I threw away that package of M&Ms that was sitting in my purse that I was going to eat before I started the pre-op diet. (Who am I kidding? I didn't throw them away, I force fed them to my mother so they didn't go to waste) -
I am from Dallas area too. Getting sleeved on 9/21 with Dr. Rodriguez in Dr. Barker's group. 6 days in preop liquids, can't wait for foooooooooooood again. (I started a day early because I figured if I didn't then I'd just eat the house trying to get every last taste in.)

Anthem Bcbs- Ohio Ppo Pre Approval
Kivtuar replied to JhonnieB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do not see a doctor regularly either however I had 5 random years of weight history and I had pictures of my last 5 years that included pictures of my youngest and me. So here is baby and me at infant, here we are together and she is 1, 2, and so on. I figured her age progression with me would help prove it was across multiple years in case the insurance nurse had doubts. They had to temporarily hold it while a manager looked at it, but it was approved pretty quickly. -
I'm Really Looking Forward Too...

Just being able to fit in the world again. In booths, in the little turnstile gates to get into businesses, in those horrid waiting room chairs. I've never been a clothes horse, I like shoes but generally just wear the same pair over and over. But I want to buy a cheap office chair and now wonder how many weeks it will last before my fat ass breaks it Oh and I want to jump and actually come off the ground -
How Long Was Your Process Getting To The Approval And Surgery Date?
Kivtuar replied to MissBJones's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have bcbs of Texas.. My first appointment was on 8/23 and my surgery is scheduled for 11/21. I was required to have a 5 year weight history of >40 bmi, psych, diet history, letter from pcp recommending surgery. Nut and psych visit. sleep study and egd. I could have gotten through it faster but was dragging my heels because husband wanted to go first. When it looked like he was going to get denied I went ahead and finished everything so we could leave him room at the end of the year so he could get his the same year to save money. (he did get denied, weight history was too low so he will have to wait and see what next year's rules are) -
How did your surgery go?

Any One Else Eating Like Its Going Out Of Fashion ?
Kivtuar replied to Sarah-lu1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have definitely done the food funeral. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today so Mom can eat at ____________ one last time before the surgery. I almost want to go on the liquid diet early just so I can stop it... But then I remember I haven't had my last blizzard yet (or my last fill-in-the-blank) .. So I give myself one more day. (Suppose to start on nov 14) -
I am going on the 21st. I am thankful it is the day before thanksgiving so I will still be in the hospital and (hopefully) not tempted by all of the thanksgiving delights. my family will be able to spend most of thanksgiving with my inlaws so they won't be without. Getting nervous and excited.
