Vitamin help please!
Keepgoing247 replied to heatherdawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to my local health food store and the owner told me about the Alive gummie multi-Vitamins. Walmart sells the brand but they aren't made and don't have as much nutrients in them as the health food stores version. I've attached pictures. I like the fact that they have 26 fruits and veggies in them as well. -

Congratulations on the start of your new sleeved life. Sounds like you are off to a great start! -
I'm sorry, I don't know anything about them. We did use CareCredit for my husbands LASIK surgery. They offer a set amount of months at a really low interest rate. For my husbands surgery I think it's 24 mos but I'm not positive. Of course if it isn't paid of in the introductory period I think the interest rate is on the high side. Sorry I can't help more. But if you haven't already, I would compare them with CareCredit.

My Gastric Sleeve Journey
Keepgoing247 replied to MissCK's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations on your new life! I have a son who is 3. He is reason I decided to get healthy. I had given up on being anything other than morbidly obese. Then as I was watching him becoming more active I realized that I wanted to be able to keep up with him and not just always watch from the sidelines. You are doing fantastic. Keep up the good work. -
I also took it for a short time will nursing my son. I couldn't stand the syrupy taste constantly in my mouth.

I know I felt 95% back to normal 3 - 4 days post op. Riding quads wouldn't have been a problem at all. Stunts and crazy risks that could get you thrown off wouldn't be wise. But regular riding I think would be fine. That's just based on my husband and my recoveries. I would ask your surgeon to be sure.

Stomach Feeling Tighter. Does this happen?
Keepgoing247 replied to lapnicky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do have days where my sleeve seems tighter than other days. Also it can make a difference if the food or drink is warm vs cold. -
Congratulations and welcome to your new life!

told I can't be on a vegetarian diet.
Keepgoing247 replied to ElliottWasHere's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was raised a vegetarian and am quickly going back to that lifestyle. I much prefer the taste and have found my food to have more protein, less fat and calories than meat. Here is my nutritional breakdown from MFP for today. Not one bite of meat. -
PLEASE HELP - Anyone gotten a "Dr's release" to return to work?
Keepgoing247 replied to elenasal's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had to have my PCP fill out my short term disability paperwork and subsequent work release forms. My PCP had no problems at all doing them for me. -

Honestly my recovery was super easy. I felt 95% back to normal on day 3. I have 3 kiddos and we run a couple businesses. I have much more energy than ever before. I think you will be amazed at how well you will do. Today I climbed up a 3 story circular enclosed tube slide to play with my toddler. Them preceded to enjoy going down the slide. I still remember when I used to freak out if the kids got hurt on one of those massive playgrounds. I knew I wouldn't be able to fit inside and go after my child. Now, I did it for fun! -
Welcome and congratulations on your new life!!

Hard time with 2 week pre-op diet :-(
Keepgoing247 replied to LWren's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first 36 hours were the worst for me. Then each day got much easier. I went to bed at like 7:00 at night so I didn't have the "head" hunger : night time munchies. You've got this! It's not easy, but it does get better. Keep focusing on why you are doing it. Before you know it you will be sleeved and living your new life. -

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. I don't know what I would do either. But I do know that his behavior is unacceptable and disrespectful. I hope he changes his mind and gets the help he needs. You will figure out what is the right thing for you and your family. Best wishes.
