    curb/fall/NSV?

Congrats on the NSV! Sorry you fell and are hurting!! I hope you feel better soon!

    Mexican at 4 weeks?

I had a similar function about the same amount of time post op. I went the safe route with chicken tortilla soup. I couldn't even eat half the cup but it was easy on my tummy. Since I had kept my WLS private, I didn't want to try a new food so soon and risk a bad reaction in a public place with people I knew. Beans and cheese would also be great. I chose the soup for the added Protein, and less carbs.

    When can i have coffee?!

I had a small cup around 4 weeks out. I usually drink decaf now but that's because I take supplements that have a natural caffeine in them.

    Lipo after the sleeve?

Lipo is commonly done as part of the "mommy makeover" plastic surgery. (At least from the research I've done). When I reach goal and am ready for my plastics, if I need some lipo along with the breast lift and tummy tuck, I will do it!!
  5. You will be fine! By losing the weight you have shrunk your liver which is why the Dr put you on the pre-op diet. Stick with the liquids for the next 3 days, follow your post op diet and you should be great! Keep us posted on your progress!
  6. I did the day before as well. I think it had to do with liquids in = liquids out. I was fine the day of surgery though. Good luck tomorrow!!

    Anybody use advocare spark?

I have used something similar from a different company. It helps give me energy. The one I use is from natural sourced caffeine, not chemical caffeine that is in most sodas and coffees. Because of this your body can process and break it down better.

First time mommy syndrome?! I think

I'm sure your OB will keep an extra close eye on you. Typically, your body will make sure your baby is getting enough nutrients, even if it's taking them away from you. Congratulations on your surprise! I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly!

    Told not to lose weight?

That's a tough one. You don't want to gain weight and be miserable while waiting for surgery but your chances of keeping the weight off are significantly higher of you have surgery. If it were me, I would just try to maintain the weight you have lost so far. I would probably wear boots and my "heaviest" clothes during your weigh ins, just in case!!
  14. My husband and I were sleeved the same day. We felt back to normal by day 3. We followed our post op diet and have never had a sick / sliming / vomiting episode. We can eat everything we could before just less of it. I so plan my meals with nutrition in mind. At least 98% of the time. I make sure we get in our Protein, then veggies and then complex carbs. Good luck on your decision! I've never regretted ours!
  15. I would have a list of things ready: what is his pre and post-op diet requirements. How long will he have you in the hospital? How many sleeve WLS surgeries has he done? His complication rate? Does he have any patients you can speak with? Does he have support groups you can join? What is the after care offered by him? How long does he expect you to be off of work? I'm sure there are a whole bunch more but those are some I asked my surgeon. Good luck in choosing the surgeon for you, and congratulations on your choice of living a healthier life.

    pre.sleeve but dreaming of plastics.

I can't wait for my mommy makeover. I know it will be very painful, but I would rather have one surgery then multiple surgeries. I've had quite a few surgeries in my life so I'm not too worried about it. It will hurt like crazy, but the pain doesn't last forever and then hopefully I'll be done and I'll move on to enjoying my new life / body!

    Help! Best Shock-Absorbing Walking Shoes?

I love shoes and have Ryka's, Nike, reebok, New Balance but my favorite are my gel Asics. I am an over-pronator and I love how my shoes adjust for that. I don't have anything negative about my other shoes, but if I will be working out a lot or walking a lot. I always chose my Asics. They are my most comfortable shoes I own. Asics have a lot of styles for all different types of feet and gaits. I strongly suggest getting professionally fitted for the correct model. Professional fitting for any of the brands of shoes is worth it!

    34/40lbs TO GOAL!

    Congratulations! You look fantastic!!
  20. I agree with PP. My Dr never gave me a goal weight. I think because I weighed so much, he figured if I got below 200 I would be doing great. I'm 5'7" and have a larger frame. I don't know what my final goal will be, but it will be what makes me feel comfortable and healthy. I'm shooting for 165 and then I want to have plastics. I would love to finish out somewhere between 150ish. BUT, I've had 3 children and if it doesn't feel realistic, I may stop at 175 and then opt for plastics. Sorry to go on and on, but most importantly: congratulations on your fantastic weight loss!! The idea of maintenance scares me as well but you will do great! You have rocked your WLS!!

    Fibro is kicking my ass

My fibro seems to flare up when I'm under a lot of stress. Maybe the additional exercise is a little too much. Try cutting back a bit and see if that helps.

    Acid Reflex and the Sleeve

I used to take Nexium daily. Then I noticed when I ate healthier I was able to only take 3 - 4 times a week. As my surgeon recommended, I took Prilosec daily post op for 6 mos. Now I may take 1 or 2 Prilosec in a month. For me, the greasy fattening food was what caused mine. Now, I rarely have a problem. My surgeon and I discussed my heartburn before surgery and since mine was already better with a better diet, he felt like the sleeve was still a good fit for me. Good luck however you decide to go. The bypass is a good surgery as well. I have many friends who have had it.
