Keepgoing247 replied to roiansmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy Birthday!!!! In my experience, if I ignore the cravings, they go away. Each day gets easier and easier and I feel stronger for avoiding the temptation. Good luck and I hope you have a great birthday!! -

Thoughts on Dr. Almanza
Keepgoing247 replied to Tiny2019's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My husband and I also used Dr Sergio Quinones. We were sleeved the same day. We were the only ones that had surgery that day and we had great care for Dr Quinones as well as his staff. Also, Dr Quinones is a Proctor for Johnson & Johnson. -
My husband and I just added in salads and we are doing well with it. We aren't able to eat a whole lot of it after we have eaten our protein. I'm very thankful out sleeves like salad.

I would go to the ER. They can check you over and give you pain medicine to make you comfortable. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. Please keep us posted. -
Feel free to add me if you'd like. Morris76058

Do I really need to go to the ER...?
Keepgoing247 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 12 days post op. I'm dehydrated. I have been having a very hard time getting my liquids in. I'm averaging 18-30 ounces a day (inc Protein drinks). In addition to not drinking enough, I'm still nursing my son. I have had dizzy spells when standing up, felt faint, weak and extra tired. However, I don't feel terrible. So I'm not convinced that this is an emergency. I have no insurance and had my surgery in TJ. I plan to go see my PCP tomorrow. I don't think she can give me IV fluids but I figured I would start there. I also have 2 incision sites that are infected. Green pus oozing out of one of them. My PCP will give me antibiotics, so again, it doesn't seem like an emergency (ER visit) situation. The reason I'm posting this, is because I have a slight fever, horrible headache and have had some chest palpitations. I don't want to spend the money at the ER and expose myself to the flu. But, I don't want to make an ignorant decision if it was truly an emergency. I have called my PCP and its after hours, no on call Dr info. I also emailed my patient coordinator around noon and haven't heard back yet. Please tell me what you would do in my situation. Go to ER tonight, or PCP in the morning. Thank you!! -
Just approved! Yay!

Sleeved with a toddler?
Keepgoing247 replied to DreamsOfSkinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My toddler was 23 months when I got my sleeve. My mother in law watched him while my husband and I were sleeved in Tijuana. From the moment we got back, I have been able to do everything with him with no problems. I was even up for cooking and cleaning. Good luck, it will all work out!! -
Decisions! Decisions!
Keepgoing247 replied to READY4CHANGE2013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have a friend who had gastric bypass 6 months ago. She still throws up at least once a day. My sister in law had gastric bypass 2 years ago and in the last 2 months has gained back 30 lbs. she claims to be eating exactly the same as always. My husband and I chose the sleeve. My BMI is very high. However, after all my research, it was the only WLS my husband and I were willing to do. We are 23 days post op and my husband has list 45lbs and I've lost 40lbs. Neither of us have thrown up or slimed or had any negative reactions. We feel good, have more energy and aren't hungry! Good luck however you decide. I just wanted to let you know about my experience. -

I'm on Zoloft and I'm just over 3 weeks post op. I had a bit of a hard time taking it the first week post op, but I break it in half and am able to get it down fine now. Good luck!
