Hope your side is feeling better Mrs.Harkness. Your weather sounds nice. We are having freezing rain, sleet, snow & wind.Temp's in 20's.

Wish your Mom could be with you to see how great you have done with your weight loss, even though you miss her like crazy. That is a major emotional hurdle you have had to endure & yet you have done so with an obviously large amount of grace.

Yes, from my husband except he didn't call me lazy. He was extremely anti-surgery though. His words,"If you want to lose weight, just cut back.I'll help you anyway I can". Oh sure! This is the same person who stocked our cupboards & freezer full of ungodly amounts of carbs & were not talking complex here either/even.We both love those kind of foods & so just a couple of codependent carb junkies. The stranger in the store jumping your case about the surgery is bizarre.

All these complications...is it worth it?
catnapper replied to Flutterfly19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A lot has to do with how well u take care of urself post-op.Drink only the amounts recommended by ur surgeon to prevent distention of ur pouch & create a bleed or leakage, don't stay in bed,sit up during day.Get plenty of rest @ night.Protein & multivitamins will help with the hair situation too. The biggest thing I over looked was not realizing what a major part of head games we play with ourselves before & after surgery. I truly was naive enuf to think that I'd never be starving hungry again & that the pounds would melt right off. -
I don't understand this site?
catnapper replied to catnapper's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No, I honestly was Not talking directly about my own experience though I can see how it could be interpreted that way. When I posted last night & after trolling around a bit, it was noticeable that with some posts, prolly that would be considered redundant, ppl had stopped by,but wrote nothing. They had specifically asked for help. Not meaning to sound like the poster police, it was simply a matter of wanting an explanation & I got several. Thank you. I feel better informed now. -

I didn't jot down any specific names but there were some who,on their own pages, after posting a question or asking for help no one took the time they weren't alone, even a ,'I hear your frustration' or ' tomorrow might be better'.just acknowledge that you are listening. Personally I came here to share & try to encourage others. If that's not being nice then so be it. I had my surgery in Costa Rica, came home to the states less than a week later. No professional assistance & a husband so defiant about the surgery wouldnt drive me to airport 2 1/2 hours away.so of course, after having two diff surgeries, drove myself home too.we all have our stories, right? It's just nice to know someone else is listening, even if it's a 'yes,I think that is great...or a,'this too shall pass'. That's all I have to say, except thank you for your responses. -
Anyone had plastics in their 60's?
catnapper replied to mokee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
eyes, neck, facelift, breast reduction. the eye surgery was by far the most painful, for several months I might add. the gastric sleeve was a walk in the park, not one single complication except one...I'm not losing any weight. are u contemplating surgery or have you too went under the knife?
