Hi! that's awesome! I hope to get a 4.0 in law school one day

is there and LBT clothing exchange thread or forum? Evilah

yeah it will make a difference if you use your metal one. Check online for puff pastry directions using metal. Glass absorbs more heat and doesn't release it quickly the way metal does. I think the worst is that the outside (near the metal) will burn before the inside of the pastry cooks. Evilah

i have to wait until july, and i have tons of pre-op testing to do. Tomorrow I have an endoscopy! If you read the lap band Dr.'s manual online (put out by inamed) There are warnings and to evaluate the patients eligibility for the surgery, the only way to do so usually is by endoscopy. I'm on liquids today so I'm kinda groggy, but check out that lap band instruction manual for surgeons and you'll see why an endoscopy is so important. Reading that made me feel better about all this testing! Evilah (my dr.'s lap band practice is a center of excellence with asbs)

did you have an allergy to the band material? Or did you sneeze alot and think that dislodged it? Evilah

Oh yeah, go get tested for sleep apnea. If you have any neck fat at all you probably have it. Not to be a doomsdayer but I think that's the way dr.'s look at it too... outside neck fat=inside neck fat=airway occlusion Evilah

the one posted on this thread... look just northeast of her belly button, and then to the right of the ridge in the center of her stomach, it looks like a worm is under her skin! I used to have a 6 pack, and that bump and worm don't look like normal skinny anatomy to me!

I have a pannis (is that the term?) and I haven't even had surgery and started losing weight yet. I wonder if it will shrink...? I'm also wary of having plastic surgery on my torso since I plan to have more children! Evilah

i just started using my cpap successfully this week, and it's night #3 that has passed and I have love/hate sort of feeling about it. In the mornings I wake up with my husband, feeling refreshed, but part of me wants to go back to bed without it to get some more sleep? I wake up several times during the night and think about the cpap, and then go back to sleep... I don't know if it wakes me up or I'm not used to it or WHAT?!?! Evilah

jbjen, sue11 you mean only clear liquids? or protein shakes and clear liquids? Evilah

I think I've seen alot of at or near goal bandsters~! But then I have a really positive view of the whole process and am also willing to work hard to "meet the band halfway"

There are so many Soups out there lkristy! on of my favorite soup recipe places is recipesource.com I also own a recipe book dedicated to soup that I picked up on the sale rack at B&N. Today, I just had ultimate meals. Ultimate meals cause you to detox, and I think I'm doing that right now. Slight headace, REALLY irritable. Not tired, but not energetic either. bleck! Tomorrow I have an endoscopy and after 6p I'm on Clear Liquids. You can do it kirsty! =Evilah

I think it might be called an "ap" band. i'd like to find out more too, since I'm getting banded in July and may be recieving it! I want to know what to ask my doctor about, or at least how to respond intelligently if he mentions it at my next appt. Evilah

Carlene, You're a hoot! Evilah

I'm not sure if I will be able to do the liquid diet when it is time to (mid june), SO I think I will do a practice liquid diet to build up my "skills". I don't want the day to come, and then not have the willpower or stable blood sugar to follow through. I am doing liquids for three days starting now, this is the pre-op diet required by my doctor. I have a magic bullet-- I'm on my second one. The first one lated about a year then it burned. Of course I had a second one because they made me buy two, so I had a backup. LOL. So glad I didn't give it to my sister. The motor burns out if run it for longer than ten seconds, or try use it for something that is pasty/too thick. But I find it works fantastic at what it CAN do. dips, Protein shakes, chopped foods, whipped cream, mixed drinks, chopped ice, pestos, sauces, pureed soups. I like using the cup for one thing then tossing it in the dishwasher, and only washing the blade if I need it again. But then I have 4 blades, because I bought two! The juicer DOES NOT WORK! In sum, I like it alot, it works for what I use it for, but there are some major things it does not do which other people probably don't like.

I believe that some foods are addictive. Even foods that don't have proven addictive substances (life caffeine) in them. I've never fallen prey to cigarettes, or caffeine, or alcohol, but certain things, like french fries ruin weeks of dieting for me. First it's the french fries, then the spicy chicken sandwhich, and before I know it, I'm all tired and haven't been cooking healthy food and I'm wanting only to eat more and more fries, and mayo, and anything deep fried with a crust. About smoking bans, I wish we could ban car exhaust. I'm terribly sensitive to it. So is my neighbor. I absolutely avoid traffic. If I go to a store with a 2 ton diesel sitting out front running, I RUN THE OTHER WAY! If I have to drive through tons of traffic to get somewhere, it ruins it, cause I'm sick when I get there, and can't enjoy whatever it is. Evilah

long tongues and no wisdom teeth seem to be dominant inheritable traits in my family. heh. I wonder if the genes are linked? My sister's tongue is longer than mine. We measured. lol!!!! evilah
