I wish you well and every success....in whatever decision you make, I was going to go to Mexico however, after doing due diligence and extensive research, I decided NOT to go to Mexico. My family member was to have her VSG by a Dr. G. Alvarez in Piedras Negras,Mexico however, due to a serious medical issue--her USA doctor told her that it would be much too dangerous to have the surgery in Mexico....when she tried to get her one thousand dollar deposit returned to her....the so called 'coordinator' Refused to return the funds...clearly, not a way to run a medical practice and clearly, a possible litigious situation. There are no safeguards in Mexico should something go wrong .....and,much too risky having surgery with a doctor who does not have the post graduate surgical training as does doctors in the USA. The surgeon that I was thinking of going to did not have the post graduate training....even though-he posted his so called resume....going to weekend seminars at nice vacation spots is not post graduate training in surgery....it is called....'buyer beware' ....do not trust..... and make sure that you Verify.....wherever , you decide to have the surgical procedure...... all the best....wishing you good health...and lots of success....

Hi,,,I am waiting for insurance approval..... have you heard anything about Dr.Daniel Herron at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhatten ? I checked him out and liked him....and his team....Is Dr. Kini part of his group ? Will they resubmit your insurance papers so that you could get the surgery ? There was a time that I looked into going to MExico however, after doing my research,etc. I decided that was a terrible idea.......there is absolutely no recourse in a country outside of the USA and the risks are so much higher...a relative of mine was going to go to Mexico however,her doctor discovered a serious medical issue and said she was not a candidate for the VSG--especially, in Mexico..... she asked for her thousand dollar deposit to be returned....and the 'coordinator' refuse to return the funds to her.....even after discussing the medical situation at hand presently.....that is so terrible....that is alot of money to have lost......I hope that all is well with you........

I read your post with concern.... I hope that you try and find a surgeon in an American Hospital since you have a medical condition ......I was going to go to Mexico and to Dr. Alvarez....after exploring other options ,etc....I decided that it was not for me.... there is no recourse in medical facilities and physicians who operate out of the USA should something go wrong....... there are plenty of fine hospitals and surgeons right here in the USA....wishing you all the best in good health.......

Not sure about surgeons in your locale......I will be using a Dr. Daniel Herron at the Mount Sinai hospital in Manhatten,New York,,,,,, there is a website called....Healthgrades and you could look up any physician in the USA on that website.....all the best....with good wishes for good health.....

Yes, I also agree....I went to hear Dr. Bessler and spoke with him....so true....they throw you to the wind....there is no support system...no referrals......he also practices at another hospital somewhere in NJ......
