Husband Not Supportive
angeliiz80 replied to Nicolanz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry my husband is also not as supportive as I had hoped. He is a Marine so he is in shape and has never struggled with being more than 10 lbs overweight and also thinks that I could have done it without the surgery. It's hard I dieted, I exercised and after losing 35 lbs plateaued got frustrated gained it back and did that over and over. I wanted a second chance and here it is. If he isn't going to support me then I will come here for support from people that understand what it's like. Keep up the good work when you are hot & skinny ;*) he will change his tune. -
Surgery First Or Baby First?
angeliiz80 replied to heatherjo7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They recommend baby first, but if you want the surgery you have to wait a minimum of 2 years for it to be "safe". My friend had bypass surgery and now has 3 children and is still in good shape so it depends on what you want to do. Everyone has a different body so it may respond different I would talk to your doctor. Good Luck -
How Soon Has Everyone Driven?
angeliiz80 replied to MSCoastRPh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also drove a week after my surgery maybe a little sooner, but stopped my pain meds after only taking them 2 nights at bed time once I was home. -
Don't worry you will do great :*) Just remember to take it easy when eating just enjoy the 2oz you are eating.

Hope that the pain gets better I stayed in the hospital 2 nights and was still a little sore. By the time I got home I only took pain meds 2 nights at bedtime. It was sore for about a week. It will get better just make sure you are walking it really does help :*) -

I Can't Stick To The 2 Week Pre-Op :)
angeliiz80 replied to syrup79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do this it isn't as hard as at seems. :*) Keep in mind that it will all be worth it in the end. My pre surgery diet was 2 Protein shakes a day and chicken salad for dinner or smart ones meals. Distract yourself so you don't think about food. You can do it. -

I'm FINALLY on puree food. Yay! I have been eating a lot of chicken & eggs. I had a mashed baked potato the other day and it was so good :*) although it took an hour to eat half. Trying to eat as much protein as possible so I don't have to drink the shakes. I need to find another brand because I can't stand the ones I drank for the last 3 weeks :*( Luckily I don't feel hungry at all I just try to eat a few times a day and I know when I start burping I'm full. No pain and feeling good 3 1/2 weeks out :*) -

My nutritionist said that being cold after surgery is very normal. I have experienced it yet, but will be glad when I do cuz I'm always hot. -
Don't bother it probably won't be as good as you think.

Overnight training went well now I am on day shifts. It is definitely harder to get all my protein in with work, but hopefully Tuesday I can start pureed foods. I'm not tired but the last couple days the left side of my stomach was a little sore must be the moving around so much and the healing. Luckily my days are 9 hours for now. I'm exhausted physically by the end of my shift. How are your fluids?

Bipass Or Sleeve - Now I’M Confused
angeliiz80 replied to shastadaisy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree if I want a nice glass of IL Conte Mascato D'Asti I do not want problems afterwards. I wanted to be limited on my intake, but still be able to enjoy small amounts of foods I enjoy. :*) -
I'm sorry this is so hard for you. Are you actually hungry? I only ask because with this surgery they are supposed to cut the nerve in your stomach that tells your brain you are hungry so you shouldn't have that feeling anymore. I seen in your other post you had hot sauce that makes me hopeful that i will be able to eat spicy food because I love it. Hope it gets easier for you.

I'm grateful I have had no "real" cravings. I've been working overnights at Panera making fresh bread, pastries & soufflés and wonder if they are any good, but haven't even wanted to try it. There are a few foods that I am like I can't wait to eat, but not that I feel I have to have. I do enjoy cooking meals for my family though and letting them eat the food I can't have. The sight of food doesn't bother me I am truly focused on losing almost 100 lbs. This is my second chance and I am fully committed.

They didn't tell me not to bend at the waist, but I always try to bend with my knees it's the safer way. Take it easy for a few days you may have just pulled a muscle or something. Be careful and if it's not better in a couple days call your doc to follow-up.
