  1. I chose not to tell anyone (only my husband and best friend know) becasue I didn't want a lifetime of "Oh, are you allowed to eat that" everytime I put somethign near my mouth. I am 6 weeks out and my weight loss has progressed at a pretty good rate, but not at a shocking rate (-35)...so just now people are starting to ask me about losing weight and I answer that I have completely changed my eating habits and I am simply moving more, eating less. Its nobody's business except my own, it was a medical decision.
  2. I am only 4 weeks out but have gone out to eat several times, and it gets easier and easier. I will either just share what my husband is having (with limitations), or I have ordered a shrimp cocktail appetizer and soup and just eat what I can of each...no one at a table ever turns down a shrimp when I say "I can't finish this, anyone want these shrimp?" LOL. Under duress, I ordered a regular meal and I just shifted things around on the plate to make it look like I had eaten more, I took the rest home and ate it for the next 2 days and still threw most of it out. I have not told anyone about my sleeve, only my husband knows, so friends have commented on how little I have been eating, but its a new year right now, so I just tell them I have made a resolution this year to change the way I eat to be healthier.
  3. You look great! I am 3 1/2 weeks after surgery and I am in a major stall...haven't lost anything in about 5 - 6 days....did you hit stalls like this?
  4. I am 3 weeks out and I was wondering if anyone has been able to use a straw for drinking?

  5. I was sleeved 12/10 in New Jersey. By 5 days after I felt like myself, going to the gym to walk almost every day. I am down 29 pounds, but haven't lost any weight at all in the last 5-6 days, which is a bit frustrating. I am already on soft foods and have gone out to eat a few times due to the holidays, I have found ways to get around most food events, but I definitely miss the social aspect of food. Its getting easier, but still have trouble getting all of my Protein in...I was sick of shakes so I have tried Isopure drinks (like gatorade) and they are nasty! So I am doing my best to get my protein through my food.
