I was fairly nauseated today, too. I had to go to work today, and it took forever to get ready. Finally I got to work and I actually accomplished something. After eating my yogurt for lunch, though, I felt nauseated. I tried to drink my Protein Drink, but I just couldn't force it down. At home I drank a little bit of milk (lactaid), and I felt better. My doctor said that if I had the feeling that something was wrong, I should call him. I suggest calling your doctor's office in the morning and tell them what's going on. Maybe they'll have some suggestions or they can get you in before your appointment next week to look at your incision. That's my advice. Keep is posted. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. I ordered some stuff online & it arrives tomorrow. I hope it tastes ok. I was told no fruit until week 8. It's interesting how different the programs can be. Today I'm going to try mixing my powder with greek yogurt, milk, & some instant pudding mix. We'll see how that goes. I might just eat the yogurt, though. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Good for you! How are you getting your protein in? I'm really struggling with that. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

Yeah...I had a mixed day today so I've been quiet plus I was busy. I can finally drive!! So, I went to Walmart & used one of their driving carts and examined Protein powders & stuff. I bought some muscle milk, which is rather disgusting, but better when mixed with milk (I've been using lactaid). Then I bought some things I need like shampoo, toothpaste, etc. I was exhausted when I was done, but I was still pretty happy to finally have some freedom (in case I didn't mention it, I also have a crushed big toe & have to wear this boot, which makes it hard to drive a clutch & now that I'm off the pain pills, my husband let me use his truck, which is manual). Anyway, I did some work, made some Soup, and then felt like crap. My husband came home & cooked up eggs & hashbrowns with toast. It smelled so good. My soup paled in comparison. Then he ate some popcorn. While he ate, I ate my soup. I totally overate. I was miserable & then ended up getting sick. I kept thinking what have I done? How can I do this? How can I control myself for the rest of my life? I just want to eat & guzzle Water when I'm thirsty, not take these little sips that hardly quench my thirst. I feel totally screwed. I know this will pass, but I kind of feel stuck. These Protein shakes are just disgusting to me. I want to make my own protein shakes, but I can't because I can't have any fruit yet. I'm not getting my protein in, I'm full all the time, so it just seems impossible to drink everything I'm supposed to: 3 protein shakes a day + 64 ounces of water?! How??? Sleeve date: Oct. 15. I'm glad the liquids are working for you. I'm doing pretty well with pudding & yogurt. I was supposed to go back to work on Monday, but I asked for two more days off. I go back Wednesday. Last night I went to a support group meeting and sitting there for two hours was awful. My incisions, stomach, and back were killing me. It was terrible, so I'm a little worried about going back to work now. We'll see how today goes, though. Mostly, I'm just tired. I've been sleeping like 10 hours and still feeling tired. It's a struggle to get out of bed. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

I'm so glad you're doing better today. My incisions were burning, too, and I was worried, but I had my follow up yesterday & the doc said they look good. I think it's just part of the healing process. When is your follow up appointment? Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

Failing This Pre-Op Thing.
Kdedeo replied to BigFatLoser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I was told the same thing. I was lucky and only had to do a 3-month diet. I was also told that if I lost too much weight on that diet, my insurance wouldn't cover the surgery. I made sure to drink a large glass of Water before weigh-in. =) Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy -

I understand completely what a relief that is! My first was Friday. Now it's daily. I am talking miralax to help. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

I had acid reflux, too. I take chewable Pepcid for it now & that seems to help. I'm also on other meds that I have to crush. I had to be on clear fluids until today. I was making my Protein powder with crystal light. I'm sick of that and so ready for milk & yogurt. Can't wait until next week when I can have pureed food. Good for you for walking! I broke my big toe two weeks before surgery, so I'm not as mobile as I would like to be. I still take short walks. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

I had to do a doctor diet, too before surgery. I ignored it and did what I always did...tried to eat healthy, exercise, and didn't beat myself up if I gave in to cravings at times. I lost about 7 pounds, and my surgery was approved. Forget that you're on that diet, but try adopting some of the behaviors you'll need for post-op. I think that's the best thing you can do for yourself, besides stop beating yourself up. It will be ok. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy -
I'm looking for more friends on myfitnesspal. I'm willing to accept any sleevers as friends. I use the same user name there as here if anyone would like to add me. My doctor told me not to worry about calories...only Protein...at least until I'm in maintenance, so I don't use it for calories. But I do like that my fitness pal keeps track of protein as well as Water intake, so I keep using it. I've used it now for about six months. I like that it also connects with my Fitbit. I hope to see some of you on myfitnesspal! kdedeo Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

My fitness pal connects with something called FINIS Swimsense. I'm a swimmer, too, and am going to look into it. Hopefully, it's not too expensive. It will be awhile before I can get back in the Water, but I'm looking forward to it. I'd be interested in knowing when you got to get back in the water & when you find something to help you keep track of distances, etc. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy -

I'm sorry he's not supportive. That can be rough. It sounds like he might be worried about more complications & he doesn't want to go through all that again. I suggest finding a girlfriend, sister, someone to be your support & let him be on the sidelines...it sounds like that's where he wants to be. Don't try to force him to respond...it will be on his timeline. I hope you have other support, though. I can't imagine doing this alone. Even with a supportive husband, this forum helps me tremendously! Good luck! Keep us updated! I hope everything goes well. Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

Good question. 8 ounces in one sitting sounds like too much. I was told to stick to 1-3 ounces every 1/2 hour. But then I'm still not allowed full liquids--only Clear liquids, so my doctor might be more conservative than yours. How are feeling now? Sleeve date: Oct. 15. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

My husband wasn't really on board at first either. I convinced him to go with me to my appointments and the class. I told him that we would gather all the information we needed and if there were still doubts, we could back out. He agreed & at those appointments & classes he learned why I can't lose weight on my own...why I need this tool. After everything, we talked and he was then on board. Give him time, ask him to come to your appointments & let him know how important his support is. Hopefully, he'll come around like mine did. Sleeve date: Oct. 15.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy

Welcome! It sounds like you're healing just great! I'm still on pain meds, but not very often. I tried yesterday to get off of them, but learned it was too soon. Today I'm feeling more positive about all this. After I take my morning meds, I'm going for a walk. I've managed 10 minutes outside twice a day. Thanks for joining the 10/15ers! I hope more join in, too. Sleeve date: Oct. 15.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy
