    Am I eating too much!?

Is your surgeon cool with you eating salad? I have to wait 6 months for veggies.
  6. I just typed a huge response and my 2-year old rolled onto the laptop in his sleep and deleted it. So this is going to be a summary. Before / In-Progress

My ticker is correct - And that 31 lbs is only to MY personal goal of 160. My surgeon would like me to be ar 146 which means losing an additional 45 lbs. Yikes. I have a stomach so I guess some will come from there, hopefuily!
  9. Thanks so much, everyone. The highest weight I've ever been was 336 - Right before delivering my youngest child who is now almost 2 years old. When I decided to get surgery I was 288. 262 on Surgery date. Tips... Follow Dr's orders exactly, stay focused. I've cheated twice in three months and they were small cheats. I kicked myself in the butt for a minute and then got right back on plan. Tons of Water - 80-100 ounces per day. Tons of Protein. No cream Soups, no mashed potatoes, no Jello - PROTEIN, PROTEIN! I really didn't exercise much (except chasing around a 1 year old and a 2 year old all day) but just joined a rigorous workout program last week (Crossfit) and I'm seeing great results already from that. That's it, I guess. Just stay focused, keep your eye on the ball and Good luck to those who haven't been sleeved yet - This is going to change your life if you work it!!
  10. Sorry about the 3 pictures! lol
  11. So thankful I made the decision (after lots of going back and forth) to have this surgery! It is coming off much faster than I had expected and I already feel a world of difference! 31 lbs. until goal!

3 Months Post Op Today and Down 71 Lbs!

I used Boost "High Protein" shakes and then added, I think, a half-scoop of Protein powder - Just Walgreen's brand. It had 30 grams of protein/160 calories per scoop. Everyone's different but my dr. had me drink 2 ounces at a time, 4 times per day. Good luck - You won't regret it, I promise!

3 Months Post Op Today and Down 71 Lbs!

Thank you! I literally have to buy new clothes (pants, specifically) every single month. I buy one pair per month, in a different size each time - I hate spending the money but I guess it's a nice "problem" to have!

3 Months Post Op Today and Down 71 Lbs!

Hah! I'm not sure I have a secret but - I follow the surgeon's guidelines really well. and 70 grams of Protein and no more than 600 calories (Usually more around 500) as instructed. Other than two occasions in 3 months, I've not eaten ANYthing I'm not supposed to. Tons of Water - 80 to 100 ounces per day and I did just recently (like, last week) join a gym called Crossfit where they are working my tail off. GL on your surgery!!

    Weight loss normal track?

You are both faster losers - I have been told that 20 lbs. is average for the entire first month. I lost 30 lbs. my first month and my surgeon was blown away, so 20 lbs in one week - AMAZING. 26 lbs. in 10 days also amazing!

What a difference a year makes!

    You look beautiful! Great job!
  17. Just have to share an awesome Protein source I came across. costco sells Kirkland-brand Frozen Turkey Burger Patties. They are 200 calories and a whopping 35 grams of protein! I've looked at other brands - Jennie-O, etc., and they only have 16 grams of protein. Thought someone could benefit - I eat them daily now! They come in packages of 12 for $10 and change.

    1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1 cups?

Okay. I'll be 3 months out on Tuesday. I'm feeling confused as to what I should be taking in. Especiallys icne I just joined a really rigorous exercise program and not sure if I need to increase Protein, etc. because of that. I currently do 3 meals - either 1/4 cup of protein or a protein shake as a replacement meal but no Snacks or additional Protein Drinks. What were you consuming around month 3?
  19. Mom2IrishTwins

    1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1 cups?

Really interesting! Are the 2 shakes in addition to the 4 meals or included as 2 of those meals? I know that most people are instructed to eat Snacks and what not - My surgeon was adamant about 3 meals only so those 1/4 cups (well now, somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 cup) have been just the times a day. It works out to about 500 calories per day most of the time. Sometimes I replace one of those meals with a Protein Shake (Usually if I'm in a hurry!)

    1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1 cups?

I was told 1/4 cup for months 0-3, 1/2 cup for months 3-6, 3/4 cup for 6-9 and 1 cup, I believe from 9+ on. I'll be 3 months in 2 days and I would say I'm in between 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup.
  21. It does get better. The first week was hard for me. Hang in there!

    One-der-Land!

Okay, I'm a jerk for posting this braggy of a post, but... I'm in "One-der-land!" I had my surgery 9/11 and was 262 (at 5'9") on surgery day. I'm 196 today, not quite 3 months since my surgery! This photo taken last week at 199 lbs! About 35-40 left before I reach my personal goal!
