10 days post op and feeling weak and tired, is this normal?
goldiva replied to lissa2270's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I have the same feeling, but remember your stomach is smaller so your going to lose weight anyways. Some days I could go without eating simply because I didn't feel like it. But I make sure I keep my liquids in to keep from dehydrating myself. I still havent figured out the eating thing either(lol) this week I started doing smoothies with juice instead of milk, milk makes me feel icky. I'm on the full liquids until my 5th week. Your doing good with the weightloss so far and you will continue to good. Just stay healthy and take it one day at a time. -
I have liquid multivitamins and my biotin and niacin pills I chop up with my smoothies, but you can get your vitamins from anywhere. I dont taste them when i put them in my smoothies, maybe try them at different time of the day as well. Some doctors try and make you buy theirs so they can make money, but you can get the vitamins anywhere, they are Vitamins its no special kind, get something that works for you. Good luck:)

10 days post op and feeling weak and tired, is this normal?
goldiva replied to lissa2270's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same experience this seems to be normal. But remember to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Make sure your getting all of your vitamins in especially the B12. I am 3 weeks out and I thought something was wrong with me but as I kept pushing eventually I was ok. I had to remember your body heals with rest so if your tired then sleep/rest. It gets better, I still have some days where I get exhausted and on those days I just relax and take it easy. Good Luck:) -
I think you are doing good because you are getting cardio in. Over time your body will build up as it gets stronger, dont get discouraged just keep it moving. I'm 3 weeks out and I jumped on the staid machine and thought I was going to pass out, I was devastated because before surgery I was able to do 35-45 minutes but I had to realize my body is going through a transformation, so now I alternate between the stair machine 30 minutes, treadmill 30 minutes and alternating the bike. I was walk/jogging too, yeah Imma wait for that until I get stronger. I also walk in the mornings on a nature trail for 45 minutes(I get bored with the gym) I figure as long as I keep moving I will see results. Good Luck, your doing awesome keep it moving

I have Aetna and it took me about 8 days. You are able to call them and check on your status. I found out that I was approved before my surgeons office. Aetna is usually pretty quick with everything. Good Luck

I am anxious as well to see a difference, I had my surgery on Dec 28 as well, and I was getting a little down on myself at first because I thought I should have lost more weight by now. I lost 24 pounds so far since surgery date. I did not loose any weight pre op which I totally regret because I should have put more of an effort but it was around the holiday so... I had to think about when was the last time I lost 24 pounds in 3 weeks NEVER!! So on my road to getting finer and ever so fabulous I keep putting my best foot forward when Im on the treadmill and kicking it up a notch every day. I workout an hour every day. I started walk/ jogging and learning to be patient and humble myself. I know the change will soon come, hang in there by the summer you will be beach ready sipping on mojitos, or at least that's my plan lolololol

I have scars but they are quickly fading with the help of cocoa butter, Im more worried about the scars I will have from my TT , lol. I was soo worth it tho:)

goldiva replied to Taylor Webster's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements

2 weeks out..frustrated a tad
goldiva replied to kikitrixie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make two weeks tomorrow and Im still on phase 2 until the 5th week is when I can start eating eggs per the diet the doctor has given me. All I eat is soups, water, protein shakes, popsicles, yogurt, broth, jello and cottage cheese. My problem is making sure I get all my protein in and eating when I dont feel like it and for some reason I cannot stomach the sugar free pudding when I loved pudding before. -

Don't get discouraged, my BMI was like 35 and I had no medical issues at all just being overweight and I told the doctors I needed to have surgery as a preventative measure. Everyone experience is difference, but one thing I would tell you is to look up Aetna policy for weightloss and you can call and speak with a rep and they will tell you EXACTLY the qualifications and you would see that you should be fine. My mind use to race with many different thoughts and possibilities, I got sleeved on 12/28/12 and doing great. Get with the coordinator for the surgeon and they have been doing this many ties and know what to submit for approval. I did not have to do any sleep studies, only psych eval, 6mos,2 year weight history and that was it. -

Don't be discouraged, things will work out -
Good, stay with it, as long as you can get your weight documented for two years it doesnt have to be the same source. Everything will work out. Keep me posted

Have you heard anything as of yet?

I'm just glad you got that part out of the way, and now you can mentally prepare yourself and get ready. Follow up with your doctor though and see what date they have for you. It sounds like they have already notified Aetna without letting you know anything, having you all nervous for nothing smh.... but it DOESNT MATTER BECAUSE YOU HAVE A DATE!!!!! YEAH!!!!
