Weird Q...is it always harder to eat the 1st meal of the day?
Jennabelle replied to Earwood's topic in Food and Nutrition
I don't know why it happens but i know I sure can't eat much of anything first thing in the morning! Usually takes me til 2 to really be comfortable!lol -
Side eefect of surgery or am i getting sick ? please read and comment thanks

I think calling your doctor is a good idea. Sounds more flu like then diet related if their is pleghm and runny noses. My motto is better safe then sorry...although there might not be much then can do for you if its the flu. Plenty of rest and fluids! -
How many calories should we be looking for in the powders?
Jennabelle replied to BriDawn's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I do have some body fortress in my stash as well. There is so much to factor in like how many calories do you consume a day (mine is 800) so I always am looking for lower calorie but you also have to be able to stomach the taste. I have purchased unjury online and am quite pleased with it as well. It only has 90 calories per scoop 0 carbs, and 21 g of protein...its probably the best for sleevers I think -

How many calories should we be looking for in the powders?
Jennabelle replied to BriDawn's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I use super advanced whey protein from costco. (It was recommended by my facilitator). It has 130 calories per 1 scoop with 26g of protein. I am from sask, canada.Taste wise I prefer muscle milk but its only 16g of protein with 160 calories (and has more carbs lol). I am always comparing, more protein, less carb/calorie! -

Having been weak and unable to move, where getting out of bed is a struggle I'd take a look at your protein (Since your lab work was good). Minimum 60g a day, spread out thru the day. Can't eat it all in one sitting with a protein shake containing 50g. Water intake a minimum of 64 ounces. My rules are 60 g of protein, 64 ounces of water, and less then 40g of carbs,(almost impossible lol). I wouldn't start any more exercises until you know for sure what is going on...and to be safe I'd also be talking to your doctor...but I;m guessing they will want to know what your diet consists of, water intake, sleep schedule And congrats on 80 pounds!!! Thats amazing!!! -

9 months out stuck stalled and platued
Jennabelle replied to marie110's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 7 months out, and been struggling with a stall. So yesterday I tracked absolutely everything I are/drank and discovered I haven't been doing what I should, too many carbs, 150 calories too many, not enough protein. And no exercise. So out came my "manual" and back to basics it is! Time to be accountable! -
August Sleevers..what Is The Progress
Jennabelle replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was sleeved aug 27, I'm down 75 pounds. I'm thrilled with this weight loss but find myself on the slower end of the weight loss compared to others and it frustrates me. The last 2-3 weeks I haven't lost an ounce...and last night I realized I've let a few bad habits creep back in. My calorie intake is always 50-200 calories too much(my goal is supposed to be 800 until I've reached my goal). My exercise has been lacking since Easter. And I find I'm eating too many carbs. So after this realization last night it's time to quit feeling sorry for myself. Get out my pre-op/post op manual and get back to the basics. I'd love to hear updates from everyone else sleeved in August! -
Heart burn :( pls help
Jennabelle replied to Deeda26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take a prescription PPI, never had an issue before. It's quite common because your stomach is so small now when you add food your stomach acid has no where to go but up lol. I'm under the impression this isn't a permanent problem but I'd talk to your doctor because if left untreated the damage can become quite serious -

My Head Isn't Keeping Up
Jennabelle replied to eclipse's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My head refuses to wrap around the changes as well. When I go into a store I still look at the plus side of the store. Maybe by the time I get closer to goal it will catch up.lol Total lost 57 pounds -
I regretted it week 3 to week 6...it gets easier and gets better. Absolutely best decision & wish I had done it sooner. I also wondered if it was just because I missed chewing lol. Especially when my liquid phase was extended due to some nausea problems

I paid for my surgery and therefore my wait time was like 2 weeks til I had to start my pre op. in those 2 weeks I ate what I wanted, when I wanted as much as I wanted...I gained 15 pounds!!! My only regret now is if I hadn't done that my number on the scale would be in onederland now...I think this is completely normal response for people who are undergoing this major lifestyle change

Do Any Of You Feel Guilt?
Jennabelle replied to ShrinkyDinkMe22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did feel guilty, worried people would think I was taking the easy way out and didn't want to tell people but ....2.5 months out and I can't help but giggle at that thought...this is sooooo NOT an easy way out! -
What Am I Doing Wrong?
Jennabelle replied to pebbles99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had a very long stall(or a very slow second month). I was sleeved aug 27. My highest weight was 256. My surgery date I was 236. And 2 months out I was 211. 45pounds. Today I am 206. And at the 50 pound milestone. The second month I was sooo discouraged. Because most of that 45 pounds was lost in the first 2 weeks. I talked to some fellow sleevers and discovered that my protein and water intake was way too low. You need a minimum of 60g of protein a day but 70 or more is better! And should also be drinking 60oz of water a day. The other tip I have is keep your carbs under 40(under 30 is better). I agree with everything lollyfiddy1965 says. Because my weightloss was slower then I liked I also began working out. I am on the elliptical 5x a week for 20-30mins. I do some weights 3x a week. And I play rec volleyball for an hour every Tuesday. And I curl every Friday for 2 hours. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, chicken and fish. My typical day is also very similar to lollyfiddy1965. I expect my third month to be spectacular as long as I keep following the guidelines. There are still many days where I struggle to meet the requirements. Max 800 calories, max 40g of carbs. Minimum of 60 protein(aim higher) And min 60 oz of water. Keep track of your intake. I use myfitnesspal...a wonderful tool. Hope our tips help you thru this difficult time! And try to remember that it's 35 pounds you'll never gain back! And stay positive it will come!!! I spent my second month in tears(which I'm told is normal) but I've had a much more positive outlook the last 10 days. -
I'm curious as well what you find out. I like the body by vi shakes. I haven't done them post op because I think the carbs are too high, the protein too low for the calories. There are better "shake" options out there. They just don't taste as good lol.
