I lost my bestie when I told her I was thinking about looking into surgery. I dont think she had any way of understanding what I was going thru as she has never had a weight problem a day in her life. So lifelong skinny people tend to think that if you just diet and workout that you can just take the weight off. Im ok with it though. I sure am a lot more picky about who I call friend now.

How much does everyone eat?
notmeanymore replied to robinagogo88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im a little over 8 months out and I eat 2 - 3 ounces at a time. I can get a good size tilapia filet down because its not dense but I can only eat about 3 turkey meatballs. I love my restriction. -

I can eat anything
notmeanymore replied to slatter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved in December 2012. Im down 90 pounds and can tolerate everything Ive tried. Although I have not tried everything that I used to eat because I know its not good for me but Im pretty sure if I did, it would go well. I dont really eat foods that are on my no-no list but if I did, Im sure Id wish that I couldnt tolerate them. Even when Im having a hormonal episode, I still try to be good. I have sugar free chocolate syrup in my skim milk or a double chocolate vitamuffin or a couple chocolate covered strawberries. Im still slowly losing. Ill go for a month and not lose a pound (but not gain) and then the next month Ill lose 4 or 5. I guess my body still hasnt found its sweet spot yet. I strayed sorry...to your point, I think it takes more will power knowing you CAN physically eat everything. -
Im loving the Syntrax Nectar in the Vanilla Bean Torte. Taste really matters to me so Ill sacrifice a couple of grams of protein for the taste. 23 or 25, makes no difference to me because to me its still a good amount to get in one meal. I have a shake for breakfast then I have the rest of the day to make up the rest of my protein grams. We are going on vacation next week and I just picked up a 12 pack of single servings of the Syntrax at Vitamin Shoppe. That way I dont have to worry about getting my morning protein Thinking ahead is the best thing for me.

from size 18 jeans to 10 in 2 months 1 week!
notmeanymore replied to Damaris67's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well regardless of how long it took me to get into my size 10 skinny jeans, Im a happy camper and very happy for you! I share in your excitement! I love that I can shop in the junior section and grab a medium top and a 10 in pants as a norm. Then depending on the brand, I may have to go up. Only one time did I have to try a small on. I thought I was going to faint lol. -

Confused with weight loss documentation!
notmeanymore replied to megandearcos's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had a 3 month requirement and my first visit was my consultation so to speak then a month later counted as 1 month, a month later was 2 months, a month later was 3 months. So 4 visits for the 3 month medically supervised diet. It doesnt necessarily have to be 30 between the appointments. My doctors office told me it just had to be the following month. My shortest "month" was 2 1/2 weeks so that helped speed it up a little bit. Hope that helps. -

I found it to be a horrible evil drink, hated one sip after another. With so many other options on the market, I showed this one the door!

notmeanymore replied to megansmommy123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ill bet he's lost wayyy more than 56 pounds. His ego might be preventing him from telling the true numbers. He looks like he's lost close to a 100 really. -

What foods do you no longer like?
notmeanymore replied to anglicanchic85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only taste change for me was that I dont care for sweet things any more. They tend to be TOO sweet now. Other than that, I still enjoy the taste of all the other foods. -
Grocery shopping is no fun anymore!
notmeanymore replied to marfar7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually love grocery shopping still. The only thing that has changed is that our grocery bill is cut in half. We dont keep junk in the house anymore. Even though my hubby didnt have surgery, he eats healthier now and is way more active. So the money we save on sugar, junk and pop we save for vacations and new clothes for me lol. -
Question for those that have BCBS federal
notmeanymore replied to Brighteyes's topic in Insurance & Financing
Thats how it worked for me as well. I had my initial visit then 30 days later was my 1 month visit, 30 days later 2 month visit, 30 days later 3 month visit and they informed my surgeon that I fulfilled the requirement. In total 4 visits. The visits didnt even have to be 30 days apart, just in the following month. I had a period of time between 1 of the appointments of only 2.5 weeks so that helped speed me up a little. But in the 3 months I was doing the medically supervised diet I took care of the requirements (pulmonologist, psych eval, blood work, ekg, etc.) so once the three months was up I could be submitted as soon as possible. Ive been told and have read that BCBS Federal is your cadillac of insurances, Once submitted I was approved in about a week and a half I think. Others have been approved within a week. Scheduled for surgery the next month. -

Will I ever sleepnon my stomach again?
notmeanymore replied to flyme_places's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope never again. So sorry. Just kidding, I found it helped to have a firm pillow along side of me to roll onto. That way all your weight isnt being weighed down by gravity, the pillow helps support you. It does get better, I promise. -
You LOOK fabulous. You look younger then your previous photo too! Im 43 and I feel the same as you! Im in no way slowing down, quite the opposite. Congrats!

1 year today!
notmeanymore replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have similar states, 222 at day of surgery, Im 5'4 and have lost 87 pounds bringing me to my current weight of 155. Sometimes I feel pretty comfy at this weight but I know I should lose another 20 (per my surgeon) so seeing your success is a good motivator for me. Thanks. p.s. You are cute as a button too Great job, congrats. -
Sharper sense of smell
notmeanymore replied to one-day-soon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its so funny that you say you can smell who drinks at lunch because I thought I was the only one smelled people like that lol. My sense of smell was always good before but now Im like a friggin bloodhound. I can smell the cats food from downstairs sometimes. Its uncanny. People that say they dont smoke either are now busted by my spidey senses lol. -
A two week clear liquid diet really isnt that bad.
notmeanymore replied to karpouzian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome! Great encouragement for those a little scared of the liquid diet. I know I was. -
And now Im so afraid that it will happen again that I take my stool softeners religiously and now even my hubby monitors my poops lol.
