You are correct, my body does like it when I use it so Im glad that Ive become addicted to it as of late.

I actually cried when my surgeons office called to tell me I was approved. Im scheduled for Dec. 5th. 29 days to go. It definitely just got REAL lol.

My CPAP affair has been very strange. Ive resisted it and hated it since 2008 but the 2 weeks that I was wearing it recently, I was almost addicted to it. I found I couldnt sleep without it. I got over it though lol. If I dont wear it, I wake up with a super dry throat, my mouth coated in a white goo (so gross) and a massive headache. Im sure its from my house rattling snoring. But when I wear it I dont get any of that stuff. Luckily my husband says my snoring doesnt bother him even though its really loud.

Yes I have a cpap. Im not sure what pressure Im at actually. Ive not been great at wearing it at all but once I knew I had to get cleared by the pulmonologist I started wearing it (total of 2 weeks) so they would have some data to read. They had me bring it in and said that the data showed I was at the right pressure and it was great. I have to go back after a 30 pound loss to get rechecked. Ill probably wait for a 50 cause sleep studies are not fun. They told me to bring the cpap to the hospital on sleeve day too.

I started researching the sleeve specifically because of my sleep apnea. My weight triggered it so along with the other health benefits, Im hoping my apnea goes away.

Hey Sweety, I have severe sleep apnea too. I stop breathing 58 times an hour. Im still having surgery. My surgeon and pulmonologist know all about it. Ive had it for at least 4 years. A good majority of overweight people I believe have sleep apnea. Does that help?

Im scheduled for December 5th. Slightly terrified but mostly excited! Ive been prepping a bit. Ive already ordered my Unjury chicken broth protein and Unjury unflavored protein powder so I can add it to whatever I can tolerate. Also ordered my chewable Bariatric Fusion multi-vitamins. My NUT suggested I start taking them now. This weekend I picked up a couple of protein drinks to taste test but who knows what will taste good after surgery so Im not stocking up on them yet.

Its funny you should say that because my dietician measured me as a 1/2 in shorter and I tried to correct her and she pretty much gave me a wink like 'no no, its ok, we'll just leave it there'. I love her.

Ive heard that others gained while in the hospital from being pumped with fluids. Im sure youll lose it super fast. Im also 5'4. Starting out at 242 HW, currently at 236 but still have to do my pre-op liquid diet so Im hoping I will be lighter than 236 by surgery date (12/5). Hope everything else goes as good as its been so far

Its really nice to read such a positive post. Im scheduled for December 5th and I realized Im not as afraid of the surgery as I am about not waking up. Can I ask what your stats are? Height/starting weight? Im very happy for you that things have been great so far! Keep us updated on your progress please.

I cant wait to wear cute pin-up girl style dresses. Oh and shorts!! I wear long pants and long dresses in summer. I cant wait!

I had to breath into this tube a total of 3 sets. First one was so they could measure the level of oxygen vs. carbon dioxide in my actual breath. The second time was for strength and the third to see how long I could hold my breath. It was really easy. I just sat on a stool and blew into the tube. My particular pulmonologist faxed over that day because the results are immediate. I dont if they all send over the clearance that day but Im sure at least the next day if you tell them that you are really wanting to get cleared so you can get your date. Once my surgeons office got the clearance, I got a call the next day. Good luck!

Hi Jessica, I have BCBS Federal and was freaking out about the exact same thing. My PCP actually LOST my records for 2011 so I had to submit records from 2008 and 2012. In 2008 I was lighter and only had a BMI of 38. Anyway, I was so worried (even cried) that I wouldnt get approved because of the gap in dates and the fact that I couldnt prove I was this big for the past 2 years. But I got approved me within 3 days of being submitted. I also had to do the 3 month supervised diet. I just cleared my pulmonology exam last week and waiting (not very patiently) for my date. It should be the beginning of December. Nice way to start the New Year out. Good luck, keep me posted as to what the outcome is. Remember, the insurance liasion at the surgeons office WANTS you to be scheduled, thats what they are in business for. They have seen all kinds of scenerios and probably know best what will go thru and what wont. You could always pick thier brain about it. Also remember that you can always appeal.
