~10 months out pictures- Finally comfortable in bikini!
notmeanymore replied to jbgirl5856's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
In response to your post Farah3k, the only people that notice that I dont overeat like everyone else are the people that know I had the sleeve. No one even notices that I eat only 2 - 4 ounces because most of the time they are so worried about everyone else watching them overeat. -
Feeling Guilty...I took "the easy way out"
notmeanymore replied to gmanbat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This was perfect timing for me because Im supposed to see my husbands family in a month (Ill be 75 pounds lighter than when they last saw me) so I know Ill be getting 20 questions if not more and Ive been struggling with 'do i tell the truth or dont i'. But the people that will be looking down their nose at me and judging me are also very heavy and miserable. So thank you for your perspective because Ive decided to hold my head up high, looking fierce and tell them the truth. Then when they say "oh well Ive been doing weight watchers" I can say "yeah? and hows that workin' for ya?" Thank you gmanbat -
I have a tall (a small) cafe americano from Starbucks a few times a week. I actually never finish it, its just too much for my little tummy and I get my caffeine buzz much quicker than I did prior to surgery. When I dont have my cafe americano I make a nutriblast of spinich, berries, banana, gogi berry, flax, etc and that gives me TONS of energy, more than coffee actually.

Decaf tea...can you have it after surgery ?
notmeanymore replied to laners777's topic in Food and Nutrition
Thanks laners There are so many great decaf flavors out there too, you can make iced tea with it too if you prefer something cold sometimes. Ill add a teaspoon of organic honey if I need to sweeten it up. Good luck with everything. 3 weeks will go so fast and youll be on the losers bench in no time. Just remember, if you can tolerate cold liquids right after surgery, try warm, it did the trick for me. -
Decaf tea...can you have it after surgery ?
notmeanymore replied to laners777's topic in Food and Nutrition
Warm liquids were a blessing for me as I couldnt tolerate cold liquids after surgery for a good month. I drink decaf green tea or Sleeptime tea practically all day. Id say I drink decaf tea 90% of the time. -
I love sushi too and can tolerate it no problem but I can only eat 3 pieces and Im STUFFED. Normally my bill at my favorite sushi place is only $1.25 because during the week they have specials and luckily the plate only has 3 pieces. Im a cheap date for sure This is the only food that I wish I could fit more of in my teeny tiny tummy but my weight loss, the new clothes, the energy and the health completely outweigh my wish to overeat sushi.

Hair Loss
notmeanymore replied to Savedbyamazinggrace's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Im also in the hair loss period of time. I started losing it around 3 months and now Im 6 months and its seemed to be slowing down but I dont have any regrowth yet. Luckily I had tons of hair before I started losing it so yes its thin to me, Ive seen people that have much thinner hair without having lost weight. Like the OP said, Id much rather have the healthy benefits of the weight loss then a lush full head of hair. Besides, people are looking at how cute I look in all my new clothes rather then the top of my head. Itll come back eventually and itll give me a great excuse to get another short bob cut that I love so much!! -
I know it sounds like witchcraft but when I stall, I up my calories by a good amount and bam, pounds drop. Apparently chocolate cures stalls Not really but its nice to dream.

1st Appointment Today/ Blue Shield PPO
notmeanymore replied to kris1189's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My BCBS PPO (Federal Basic) required a 3 month medically supervised diet which consisted of me seeing a nutritionist and doctor once a month for 3 months, a psy evaluation, sleep apnea testing but I already had it, I had to get my heart checked too. I think that was it. The time went very fast. -
Bought my first "Large"
notmeanymore replied to Wls4me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You always make me smile big. I was dancin' my littler butt off for sure. I could barely contain my giggle when I had to ask the saleslady for a medium. I dont care if people looked at me funny for dancing, they used to stare at me for being fat lol. Thanks for the sweet compliments. -

notmeanymore replied to Wls4me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I also did some shopping this weekend and bought larges as well. I actually was able to fit into a couple of mediums but only because the brand ran big but I dont care, I did a dance right there in front of everyone lol. Congrats! I know what an awesome feeling it is. -
4 days in the hospial after surgery?!?
notmeanymore replied to AutismMom's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was in for 2 days and had the single incision spider technique done. The only reason they kept me the extra day is because I couldnt get my fluids down but my surgeon quickly realized that I was having trouble because I was trying to sip cold beverages and it was causing spasms in my new tummy so I went to warm and bam, I was able to sip sip sip and they released me. -
Ive GOT to go clothes shopping. I keep purging all my larger clothes and I have hardly any left. So happy that I get to shop at The Limited and normal girl stores now. Its a whole new world

Any Tattooed Sleevers?
notmeanymore replied to epasseri's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have a 15 hour tattoo on my back from bra line to butt crack and it hasnt distorted after 70+ pounds lost. The only difference is that it is almost on my sides now which is fine by me. Im ready for more though. Im going with one of each front of the shoulders and a portrait in a frame on the tops of each thigh. Im about 30 pounds from goal and Ill probably just get them because if my back piece didnt distort, I doubt the new ones will with a 30 pound loss ya know. -
I have BCBS Fed also and was approved within 2 weeks. I also didnt have a steady 2 years of doctor visits but they took my 2009 records and my 2012 records. Easy peazy! I was most worried about not having the 2 year documented weight but it was fine.

This is the first time Ive posted pics here. Ive just been to embarrassed I guess. But here we go...the before me and the current me. Still have about 30 pounds to go.

70 lbs gone (with pics)
notmeanymore replied to notmeanymore's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It was a surprise to me too. I didnt expect it. But no more night sweats, I actually get chilly all the time now lol. I used to sweat profusely when I got ready in the morning but not anymore. So many wonderful side effects. Besides marrying my husband, this is the best thing Ive ever done for myself. -

Thanks Fiddleman! When I was told I had the hernia, I was more upset that I had to lay off the yoga for awhile lol. And my studio is now starting their 30 day challenge but I cant start practicing again for another 7 weeks Ill get em next time and kill it! -
Does everyone get a drain tube?
notmeanymore replied to a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have a drain tube. My surgeon said it depends on how much the patient is bleeding during surgery. Luckily I didnt require one. He said most of his patients dont. I did have one for my gall bladder removal a few years ago and it didnt hurt to get it out, just a strange sensation. -

10 years younger is such a huge compliment, thanks so much. I have so much energy now, its amazing. I get up earlier, I go to bed earlier, I get so much more stuff done. My sleep apnea is gone, my planters is gone, night sweats - gone, so many improvements. My husband can barely believe Im the same woman lol. I was taking hot yoga for a couple of months and that really helped with toning and tightening up but unfortunately I developed a very large ventral hernia that I just had repaired 2 weeks ago so I was bummed that I couldnt workout but amazingly enough, Ive still lost a few pounds. (And no the yoga didnt cause the hernia, I asked the surgeon about 20 times lol).
