Ive been dry brushing (you can google it) for the past 6 months and its supposed to improve blood circulation, regenerate skin cells, etc. There are lots of great benefits to it but one of the benefits is its totally reduced the appearance of cellulite on me. I had pretty bad (cottage cheese looking) cellulite on the backs of my thighs and its hardly noticable now. It really works. Its cheap to do so why not give it a try?

no weight loss!
notmeanymore replied to christina0613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, I gained 10 pounds from the fluids also. I didnt start seeing the numbers go down till around the 2 week mark which made me happy but then I hit the 3 week stall which made me homicidal But then after the stall, I saw the numbers go down continuously except for the repeated stalls. Just keep being good to your sleeve. -
Good lawd woman!! Now THATS how you celebrate a sleeve!! Good for you beautiful!

What can't you eat, that you used to be able to.

McDonalds was my cure all for hangovers for sure lol. I dont drink anymore though. I didnt quit because of the surgery, I just was waiting till I was healed to attempt it and I just havent yet. Plus, Im so active now that it would piss me off that I couldnt go to yoga or bike riding with my husband because I had a hangover. Im glad you are feeling better then you did when you originally posted. Everyone is different and youll find out soon enough what you can and cant eat. Honestly, you may not even crave those things you are afraid you wont be able to eat. So dont worry, be excited about the new life you are giving yourself -

Excited, nervous and anxious is normal so dont fret. The excitement will last the longest, the nervousness and anxiousness is just temporary. Be good to your sleeve and your sleeve will be good to you and you will lose weight. All these wonderful people arent blowin' smoke up your tushy, it really works as long as you work it Just think, Christmas time youll be around 6 months and you will need a bunch of new clothes so Santa better be ready -

Its a shame though it may be true. Thanks for the article, it was very interesting. -
Im a little conflicted at my recent observation...When I was fatter (75 pounds ago) and would go shopping for example, the clerks wouldnt offer to help me, workers in the grocery store or convenient store would act as if I didnt exist. Now that Im 75 lighter, people are so nice. They offer to help, they go out of their way to assist me or do me a favor. While I love the attention Im conflicted because its makes me a little sad to think that those same people didnt give me a second thought when I was bigger. Was I not a human being then too? Especially at that time I wouldve loved someone to pay attention to me because lord knows my self esteem needed a shot in the arm every so often. Not only that but now, I find that bigger people almost scowl at me. I can be nice as pie and am but will still get the looks. I know exactly how they feel though because I was there, unhappy and miserable. I remember frequently being envious of the thinner people, the people that could shop in the normal size clothes section, wear pretty shoes and all that. But I am who I am and Im still going to be nice and kind to everyone because we are all human beings after all but the view from one side of the fence to the other is quite an interesting one.

For me its more of what I CHOOSE not to eat because so far Ive been able to tolerate everything Ive tried. I find that I dont crave sweets nearly as much and if I do, a big chocolate covered strawberry does the trick. I dont do fast food unless its an emergency and even then I make sure to choose a non-breaded whatever with the most protein. When I started seeing the numbers on teh scale go down and my clothes getting bigger and the compliments coming, I did not want to do anything to sabotage that by eating fast food or falling into old habits. This coming from a girl that was a closet eater. Id have 2 big macs at lunch in my car by myself where no one could see me or even stop at McD's for 2 double cheeseburgers on the way home before dinner. Those days are LONG gone! Size 10 pants, medium (almost in a small) yoga pants and being fit/healthy have trumped any crap-ass food I could shove down my throat. -

Oh Kathy, you are just a ray of sunshine! Im so grateful for you my dear. Thats a great way to put it "receive people better" because I think thats a big part of it too. Im a lot less defensive now because for years people have been discriminatory, rude or disrespectful. It does take some adjusting though to have people be all nice and helpful. My true friends of course have always shown me love and support so Im grateful for that. Thank you for the open door for the century club sweetheart. I cant wait to join you. Ill bring party favors 6 months ago I never ever imagined how my life would change in so many positive ways. I cant wipe the smile off my face XOXO Bunny -

I suppose you could be right. I remember always wanting to be invisible I guess so why then would anyone approach me if I gave off the vibe that I didnt want any attention. I think the only store I felt accepted in was Torrid. The chics in there were always so nice because honestly, it was their job to cater to the bigger population. And I do carry myself different now. Although in my head, every time I see someone pull into or out of a McDonalds I secretly think "you do not need to be going there" and I remember almost feeling ashamed when I would go there. Im sure Ill work all this out but its a funny little experiment in human nature isnt it? -
How long before others could eat bread. I am 9 months after surgery and still can't eat any breads etc

Im 6 months out and have recently had a bagel thin with light cream cheese and was able to tolerate it just fine. I kind of wish I couldnt but there hasnt been a food that Ive tried that I couldnt tolerate. I 'prefer' not to eat super dense foods because 1 bite and Im done but other than that, my little tummy is a trooper. -
I get the hiccups when I wake in the morning until I put something in my tummy. But then I hiccup when my tummy is full and I should not take another bite. Go figure lol. Luckily my hubby thinks its cute.

Im 6 months out and went from a tight 8.5 to a comfy 8. Ive always been an 8 so I dont think my feet will shrink any more than that.

I find it fascinating how everyone's tastes are different. I cant stand the Isopure drinks, I thought they were horrid. I do love the flavorless protein powder from Unjury. I also love Unjury chicken broth, it has 21 grams of protein per serving. -
I started losing about that much every day at the 3 month mark. Im now at 6 months and Ive stopped losing except for the normal hair loss that everyone has but it hasnt started growing back yet. Luckily I too had a lot of hair so I was the only one that noticed except my hubby that had to clean it from the drain. I of course take my biotin, I also take this http://www.sephora.com/phytophanere-hair-nails-dietary-supplement-P2884?skuId=1438068 from Sephora. I dont know if it helped but in my mind it made me feel better.

How has VSG Affected your Marriage?
notmeanymore replied to GBFree82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My marriage is even stronger now. We had a tight marriage before but instead of my hubby worrying about my health now, we get to concentrate on being more active, celebrating the nsv's, he loves when I put on fashion shows for him with my new clothes and he especially loves all the extra 'bedroom attention' if you get my drift. My hubby had lost 70+ pounds on his own about 8 years ago and has kept it off so he can empathize with my joys of losing the weight and is so happy for me. We are like newlyweds again -
Bought a size 10 pants yesterday!! I was killin a size 18 before so this is HUGE!! (and so were my pants previously lol)

I love how people who have never had a weight problem in their entire life have something to say about people that have WLS. Walk in my shoes b*tch! I think they should be made to wear a suit double their weight and go about every day life and see whats it like and what its like to have others look down on you because of your weight. So lets see, there are haters that look down on the obese and the same haters look down on people that have WLS. No pleasing the haters so screw them. -
I'm wishing I did the gastric bypass

I am already past 60% of my excess and on my way to 80%. Its work, not a magic pill. But this is the only tool that Ive ever been able to use to help me achieve my ultimate goals. I feel proud that Ive had to sweat, grunt, learn how to eat right again and be successful and have the willpower to not eat crap food all day because if I did and didnt do all those other things (the grunting and sweating), I wouldnt be rid of all of my obesity related ailments and feeling fabulous. I bow to the sleeve -
anyone not lost hair after taken Biotin?
notmeanymore replied to erics300's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ive been taking it since the beginning and Im 6 months out. I honestly couldnt tell you if it helped my hair loss or not. I lost A LOT of hair but thankfully I had lots of hair. Just when it started to get so thin that I was panicking about it, its subsided. Now for the dreaded re-growth. It certainly wont hurt to take it since it does improve other things like nails and skin but I couldnt tell you if it helped. Target has it cheap, something like $5 a bottle for 500mg capsules.
