All of the Isopure gives me dry mouth but I can tolerate it better than the thicker shakes.

Purée is so much better than liquids! I start soft solids on Thursday. I puréed vegetable lasagna tonight and it was great! Hang in there. It does get better.

Just started purée phase last Thursday. Some ideas that worked for me are: Starkist light tuna in the pouch Hard boiled egg Tablespoon fat free mayo Teaspoon yellow mustard Purée in my Ninja 3 turkey meatballs 5 tablespoons skim ricotta 1/2 cup fat free turkey gravy Purée in my Ninja 3 turkey meatballs 5 tablespoons skim ricotta Small can Hunts no salt added tomato sauce Purée in my Ninja 1/2 can fat free refried Beans 1/2 cup fat free sour cream Just mix up with a spoon Progresso Hearty Black Bean Soup 1/2 cup fat free sour cream Purée in my Ninja All of these make more than 1 serving. I put the extras in small plastic containers to heat for later. Also, I heat in microwave after I purée. I find it works better. I also discovered PB2 powdered Peanut Butter to add to Protein shakes or really anything if you like peanut butter. I also use Isopure unflavored Protein powder and I mix it with sugar free chocolate pudding for extra protein. You can't even taste it. I bought both on Amazon. Finally, my greatest find was Isopure green tea clear Protein Drink that comes in individual bottles at GNC. It is the only protein drink that I can tolerate right now. I love it! Just bought a case at my local GNC yesterday. Well worth the price for me right now. It has 40 grams of protein in one 20 ounce bottle. Can finish one in a day. Great if you like tea. Drink it cold with ice. Got my Ninja blender at Target. Hope this helps some of you. Purée is soooooo much better than full liquid phase. I actually feel somewhat normal again. 39 pounds lost since sleeved on November 28th

1 Week Post Op Down 22 Pounds!
bjlritchie replied to bjlritchie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks guys! I can only have liquids right now: skim milk, low fat creamy soups, water, tea, sugar free hot chocolate, sugar free ice cream, protein shakes. I am having trouble drinking the protein shakes. They're just not sitting well so I have milk instead. I know I'm not getting the 60 grams of protein in but my doc said for these 2 weeks do the best you can and stay hydrated! So, one day at a time. I expect when I get to the purée and soft solid stages the weight may not come off as fast but we'll see. It's not easy. I pretty much want a cheeseburger EVERYDAY! I keep fighting the good fight -
I am one week post op today. I lost 10 pounds on my 8 day pre op liquid diet. I lost 12 pounds post op for a total of 22 pounds! Hurray for me! I am super happy but worried for the day I get on the scale and nothing! I know, I know.... One day at a time. I only wish my brain could remember that! Power to the sleevers:)

4 Days Post-Op & Overwhelmed
bjlritchie replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for the info. I am 5 days post op and not getting anywhere near the required protein. Doing the best that I can. Actually having some yogurt that I didn't thin with milk because my stomach feels so hungry! Trying to sip all day long but it's difficult. I keep saying to myself that this too shall pass:) -
I am 4 days post op. My pain is managed by pain meds. Maybe they could give you a suppository pain med because you need something. I am hungry a lot also. Mine doesn't go away with a little liquid though. Wish I could eat something crunchy. I don't think it matters about the chewable vitamin. It's such a minimal amount that you should be okay. Don't know about the BM but it sounds normal to me with all the anesthesia and fluids they give you. I would call the doc and ask because you will feel much better knowing the medical answer. Hang in there. It's not easy but we can do it. It will get better!

I have a tight feeling and some pain in the breastbone area. My doc said its normal. It feels awful though. I am 3 days out too. Call your doc and see if its normal.

Started full liquids today. Not the most exciting menu. I have a lot of pressure and some pain in the middle of the breastbone area. It gets really tight too. Called the doc and he said its normal. Feels horrible though. Ugh! Trying to stay positive.

I was sleeved on November 28. I am doing okay. Taking pain meds and walking/sipping slowly. It went better than I expected. I am very tired and sore which I know is to be expected. Start full liquids tomorrow for 12 days. Had some chicken broth today which I enjoyed. Taking it one day at a time. Slow and steady wins the race and I plan on winning it Good luck to all of you. I am inspired by you everyday!
