Is it just me or does the Dr's office look like it used to be a car dealership from the outside? I just watched the one with the woman who keeps changing her hair color. Very hard to watch her going through the drive through, saying she can't find any food to eat that the Dr would approve of and then gaining weight. But so great to see her turn it around!

Fear is getting the best of me.
greensleeve replied to Tear Bear's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm a sleever. I have lost 72 pounds since the month before surgery. I think I might have worried about every aspect of surgery I possibly could. I can't speak for band, but my sleeve is wonderful. Honestly there have only been two times when I was triggered and felt like my old habits wanted to come back. The last was at a social situation, and I felt like I wanted to eat a ton just to fight social anxiety and have something to do. But instead I put healthy food on my plate, ate my cup of food and got up and did something else. Because I physically couldn't eat more or I would be in intense pain. I also realized it wasn't worth sabotaging my progress. I looked at some desert and it looked good but it also looked like failing. So I had a tiny bite of something and that was it. Sugary rich food makes me feel sick now. So I don't even crave it. The same thing with greasy and fried food. I have had one French fry or two cheetos here and there. I just want a taste of it and then I'm done. Every time I get on the scale and see another pound gone I'm amazed that this is happening. And then I'm sad that I wasted a lot of years. You can do this! -
How old do you think I am?

I'm going to say 32 just because you remind me of a bunch of women I work with who are that age and have a similar style. But your skin looks a lot younger. Early twenties. -
How about some NSVs!?!?

I'm wearing size 16 capris with no muffin top! -
Looking at the first pictures is painful. And that was after I lost fifteen pounds. It is just so unreal.

I thought it might be a good idea for the people in and around St. Louis to share information. I would like to know what restaurants in the area will accept Bariatric cards and let you order a kid's meal? What's your favorite place for buying cheap clothing for when you are losing like crazy? What's your favorite place for buying Protein shakes? Any other regional tidbits you would like to share? Or if you have had bad experiences with a restaurant or store, please share. I am starting to wish that there were restaurants where you could pay by the ounce!

You're stuck all day and can't bring in your own food
greensleeve posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What do you do when you go to a place that has really expensive high sugar, no Protein food and you can't bring in your own food? I'm talking concerts, Water parks, amusement parks, zoos even? Yesterday I had to eat a cliff bar and part of a Gatorade. By the time we left I felt exhausted just from not eating enough and having too many carbs. Do you risk it and just bring your own food and hide it? I'm thinking that is the way to go. It's not like I'm trying to steal something, I have legitimate physical issues that preclude me from eating their gross food! I even tried to eat a lot of protein before we left and a drank a lot of water. But with a sleeve there's only so much you can do! -
I have three pairs of pants that are almost identical, in size 22, 18, and 16. I just realized this. I haven't been able to wear the 16 in three years. Now they fit but with muffin top.

Pre-surgery meltdown
greensleeve replied to Susanomic's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very nervous prior to surgery. It's ok, you are having major surgery and making a life changing decision. My coping mechanism the few days before surgery was thinking they wouldn't be able to do it or my insurance would suddenly deny me out of the blue. I lost four pounds in one week prior to the pre op diet because my stomach was so flippy and acidic I could barely eat. -

Today I put on a shirt that I haven't worn in a few weeks. The band at the bottom of the short sleeves is suddenly loose. It used to be tight! -
There's also Freecycle and Craigslist. You can list things as being on the curb and people just go pick it up.

I'm doing the same thing!

Halfway to goal with pics

Thanks! -
The first is a few days after surgery.

I'll have to post the butt shot from the week after surgery later!
-
I did take a few pics, I'm a little wary of posting pics that ID me due to a couple of stalking psychos but here's my butt. Lol.

Good luck!!!!

Why would you throw away clothes?
-
If I wear a baggy shirt with them I'll be fine. Lol. I don't know how I ended up with three army green pairs of capris with cargo pockets. Guess I like them.

Can you sign up for Obama care?
-
Are you in the US?
-
Ha, that's what I mean.

Always appeal. Every employer has a slightly different policy with the insurance companies. Is your BMI low so they need to see comorbidities?

I have coffee every morning and I'm considering adding a cup around dinner time. By the time I'm home from work I'm exhausted. I used to drink soda a lot so that kept me going. Well now I am yawning by five no matter what I eat, how much sleep I get, or how much water I drink. I feel like I'm useless to my family in the evenings.
