LMAO!!! Well alright. Funny thing is I'm usually the one who wants it more! I think I'm more worried about missionary. Lol.

Oh my other one. I was sitting on the couch and I realized I felt comfortable, I didn't feel like there was some huge bulky thing sitting on my stomach.

Anyone struggle with starting puree?
greensleeve replied to YummyMummy101's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh I forgot scrambled eggs. My dr said if you can purée it you can have it. I seriously can't stand the thought of puréed meat so I don't do that. I got a can of crab meat and added it to cream of shrimp soup with extra garlic and some chicken broth. It was really good. -
Surgery and shark week at the same time

No, I went through the same thing. Just tell them in pre op. Sometimes they give you disposable underwear and a pad, sometimes they tell you to put a pad between your legs. Usually they have a big absorbent pad under you anyway. -

Some days I'm at 600, some days 800. I've been losing steadily, I get 60 grams of protein in a day. -

Kind of a vague one but I put on a shirt I haven't worn in months and I just stared at myself. I look so different in this shirt now. I just kept staring.

I was told no carbonated drinks ever. It stretches out your sleeve.

Once you have the surgery I don't think you will miss it. I used to drink at least four a day if not more. I stopped two weeks before surgery and that was difficult. But after surgery I can't imagine having anything fizzy. I'm burping and hiccuping and my stomach couldn't handle it.

I like it with Greek yogurt and Splenda.

I have never cried soooo much..
greensleeve replied to Susan Beckman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there. I was sleeved on 3/25. I'm right there with you. My emotions are crazy. I don't get upset when I see I'm losing weight but other things definitely do bother me. I am wondering if you have thought about whether you had any mental reasons for gaining weight. Some people do gain weight to protect themselves from unwanted attention or to feel safe and powerful. -
I would change surgeons if I were you. Who is your surgeon anyway?
-
I had a very small amount of Qdoba tortilla soup with sour cream and cheese. That hit the spot. OMG. I feel so much better now.

Surgeons vary on their requirements and it can depend on what your comorbidities are, what meds you are on and your BMI. Don't assume anything. Just because they didn't mention it doesn't mean you won't need it. Just don't want you to have a realistic idea of what to expect. Good luck to you!
-
Call your insurance company and ask them what their requirements are. It's not up to the coordinator, it's up to your insurance company. Some of these people who work for surgeons are just so rude.

Homocidal....lol.

Are you taking something for stomach acid? Sometimes if you have too much acid it feels like you are hungry.

I'm not going to get healthy if I'm so disgusted by the food that I can't get in enough calories to function, but thanks for the support.
-
Yes but it tastes odd by itself.

Cathy where do you live? I'm in Creve Coeur. -
Me too! I thought by this time I would have more energy. I'm getting to the point where the mushy foods are making me feel mentally nauseous. You know before I even eat them. I'm so sick of it. I've always been a big texture person and the mushy texture is really getting to be gross. I am eating less because it's so unappealing. There's only so much cottage cheese, mashed potatoes and Greek yogurt one person can take. I want something crispy!!!!
-
That would scare me too. Is anyone feeling emotional for no reason? I just read someone's post on Facebook about always loving someone and I just wanted to cry.
-
What? Based on what? Did you not lose weight before the surgery? Why would he say that? Oh my I am so sorry! I just can't imagine.

Take your vitamins, take your calcium and get in 64 oz of fluids at least. That helps with my fatigue but I still get tired. I'm down 14 pounds in two weeks since surgery. I just can't believe it. This all feels so surreal. I'm down 30 from high weight in February, but down only one pants size. That is so strange. Is everyone measuring their waists, hips, and neck?
