black stool can't get a call fom my doc
Alamoloser replied to steele160's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the same issues post-op, my Dr. indicated it was caused by leftover blood or drainage from the surgery. Mine lasted for at least 2 months but now I'm back to normal. -
It's hilarious to eat, now
Alamoloser replied to TheCurvyJones's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with DUBrookie03, I was spending at least $10-15 per day on food either in the morning before work or at lunch. I looked at my bank account last month and was taken back by the balance hardly moving because of the lack of food debits. My wife was amazed at the grocery bill over the past several months also. -
How soon did you go back to work?
Alamoloser replied to Kennedy310's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt better after 7 days but since my FMLA covered 2 weeks, I of course went back after 2 weeks. Don't rush anything, take as much time as you possibly can. -
Need non-gross chewable Vitamin recommendations ....gummies?
Alamoloser replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do the Flintstones gummies, not bad except they stick to the bottom of the jar. -
considering vsg surgery and have some questions.
Alamoloser replied to sheree212's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm not that far out but my advice would be to try and lose as much weight pre-op as you can. Lifting weights also helps to tighten the loose skin after you've healed up. -
I would start with limited walking, sounds like your still sore.

My journey so far! Surg 10/23/12
Alamoloser replied to healthiermom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Had my surgery 10/15 and your so right that the minimal pain and obstacles that your have to go thru don't amount to anything once you begin to feel free from the obesity. -
If feels so good to have someone that understands your dilemma...No one here judges you because we all bear the same struggles.

Finally have the courage!

Good luck to both of you! its going to change your life. -
Lost 74lbs but want help on how not to lose anymore!
Alamoloser replied to soexcited2013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What a wonderful situation to be in! Congratulations -
I think as long as your getting your vitamins and water in you should be ok. I had a hard time too trying to get more than 500 calories in the first several weeks.

Pregnant - and fallen off the wagon
Alamoloser replied to Sleevedmom2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, congrats on being a new mom...second, sounds like you know what you need to do to stay at a healthy weight gain. It may sound like a lot of weight gain right now because you've been losing for so long but the reality is, your probably not going to balloon up to old weight anytime soon. Keep up a light walking workout and watch your food choices. -
I agree with PdxMan, yeah you can drink one if you want but don't over do it. I've taken a few sips myself and to be honest I get a little gassy feeling in my chest. I don't sweat the calories anymore because like PdxMan, I get very few to begin with. When it comes to soda though, I would rather have a unsweet tea (with sweetner I add) or Orange juice. Sodas just don't do it for me anymore. That whole stretching thing because of carbonation sounds like bs to me but it may further cause you to keep making bad decisions regarding food.

Rest assure, once you see the pounds fall off, you won't think twice about missing those dinners.
-
Test yourself and see how you do with a normal meal (not popcorn or sliders)...my bet is your still very limited on total intake.
-
need advice! when can I start exercising?
Alamoloser replied to skinnywithin's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Just get out there and walk for now, an hour or more is best. I would skip the strenuous activities for at least another month if possible. -
Its ok just bounce back tomorrow.

What a great gift to start the New Year! -
feel like I am starving even though I have no appetite
Alamoloser replied to jkfjdohio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sadlers has a point, go see the Dr because you shouldn't really be in this stage at almost 2 months out. -
your last meal before pre op ?!
Alamoloser replied to Lisa'slosinit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hooters wings with fries and 2 large Dos XX's...Loved it, damn I loved it. -
Eating too much
Alamoloser replied to Butterflysecrets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try drinking a glass of low fat milk 20 minutes before eating. The slight heaviness may limit your intake. -
Those are very bad for you, curb the habit.

weird feeling in my stomach when I eat mostly anything
Alamoloser replied to ThurstT4life's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm right there with you, for past 2 months I get the "weird feeling" that usually encourages me to stop eating because I'm scared whats next. I'm thinking maybe I'm eating too fast or not chewing good enough. -
You look perfect!

You should probably take it a little easy the first couple or few weeks. The important thing is just moving around and not strenuous workouts so you can heal properly. You'll know what your body can handle each week...
