I'm about 4 months out and I'm pretty much can live on almonds or cashews with my water until 4pm or 5pm then I usually cut up some cheese and meats and have that with maybe a very small piece of chicken breast or what ever meatis served up for the kids.

My wife has been supportive all the way. I think one of her issues is her friends always complimenting me to her as if she doesn't see me everyday. I can notice a slight tendency for her to ask where I'm going more often. Of course she's 100% onboard but I think she now fears of course that other women notice me more also.

Oct Sleevers....whatcha eating?
Alamoloser replied to AvasmommyRN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Still pretty restricted as far as total consumption goes. I pretty much snack on almonds in the morning with water (I also sneak orange juice). That holds me over until later afternoon whcih I then begin to slice up a few pieces of cheese and thin meat. Around dinner time is hit or miss, sometimes I have a few bites of protein and veggies, other days I can be fine with cheese and crackers (even a beer if I'm naughty). -
2 weeks post op and I want my stomach back!
Alamoloser replied to Butterflyjdjl's topic in Rants & Raves
Give it a few more weeks, your still swollen and your body is very upset with you right now. Its a journey not a race.... -
Belly not touching steering wheel
Alamoloser replied to selbradey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job, that's truly a NSV for most people. I also hate the limp chairs that seem as if there made out of old driftewood that some restaurants use. I'm always afraid its just gonna shatter underneath me but not anymore! -

Alamoloser replied to sherytuta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Troll Alert!!! 5 posts after almost a year 1/2 out and barely any weight loss??? We would've heard you crying months ago. Move on -
nearing one year anniversary
Alamoloser replied to Bluenewman21's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad to see your doing well in your journey, continue your progress and I'm positive you will hit that goal. I've developed a habit of a beer or wine every now and then myself so I know your demons. I guess if we can minimize it some it helps but whose kidding who, enjoy a few when you get a chance. -
Easy Way Out? Really?
Alamoloser replied to Lexsan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had someone directly say its the easy way out but I can look at some people's faces after I tell them and see a sense of agitation. Thats when I start thinking to myself, wait a minute, have you drank a soda in the past 6 months? or have you eaten fast food in the past 6 months? Cause I know I haven't and if that's cheating to you then go to he**!! These idiots think we can eat as we please and the pounds are going to miraculously fall off. How fortunate and nice to be born with a normal metabolism, some of the most unhealthiest people are the ones wearing skinny jeans and Under Armour but of cource to them, its about looks. -
I wouldn't necessarily say you will be able to chug but you will be able to take a big enough drink to quench your thirst adequately. i wouldn't attempt it until at least 3 months out.
-
You should feel fine to go but remember the difficulty drinking (especially alcohol) and food that you will have to endure. Its not gonna be a walk in the part but it will be fun to be outside and experiencing Vegas if you haven't been already. Just remember, its not gonna be the same trip as it would be pre-op obviously.

What i won't miss about been over weight.
Alamoloser replied to gelen's_change's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I won't miss not having a neck, I won't miss looking at myself in a barbers chair, I won't miss breaking my shoes down within a year, I won't miss the stress of starting a new diet and failing.... -
weird feeling in my stomach when I eat mostly anything
Alamoloser replied to ThurstT4life's topic in Food and Nutrition
I had it since my surgery date Oct. 15th, the bad part is it eventually subsides and your able to eat a quite bit more. Prepare yourself now by making good decisions because the restriction starts wearing off and you will eat more. -
C-Pap .... how do you know when to stop using?
Alamoloser replied to Mysties mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About three weeks post-op and down significant weight, I decided to take the thing back after sleeping like a baby for several days in row. To this day, I sleep better than I have in years. You'll eventually hit a point when you no longer need it but until then, try and use it as much as you can. -
Eating too fast and not chewing can lead to painful eating. I'm guilty of doing all these things because of old habits but eventually I know my stomach will be able to handle more.

Two years later - wish I'd have done it sooner
Alamoloser replied to LessFatMe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Great post, I appreciate hearing your story because its almost identical to what I'm going through now. -
I think we all do it for a little bit of vanity. I personally had high blood pressure and onset symptoms of diabetes. Heart disease also runs in the family but to say it was strictly for those reasons would be a lie. I do enjoy the attention I get and the looks from the opposite sex.

Problem: Can eat, but don't want to. Help:-
Alamoloser replied to mommyradd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the same boat as you, barely eat even over 3 months out. I've lost a ton of weight and feel great. I know the ability to eat will come back eventually so I hope to lose as much as I can before it happens. Enjoy this time and try to make good choices when you do eat so its easier when that hunger does return. -
Sorry to hear about your sister but I'm sure she knew the risk going into the surgery. We all have fears and worries about the surgery but we also counter those fears with the fact that most of us here are past the threshold of exercising the weight off or dieting. I guess what I'm saying is she had the surgery for her health and unfortunately do to some "borderline neglegence", she had a bad turnout afterwards, I don't she's representitive of the majority of people that have had it. I wish you both the best but to say don't have the surgery because of her outcome isn't fair to those that are pre-op or considering.

What happened to your sleep apnea post surgery?
Alamoloser replied to RedCardinal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had moderate sleep apnea and had to use the machine for insurance purposes but I can tell you after dropping significant weight I tunred that sucker in. I sleep like a baby now and that is one of the most satisfying things about this surgery. I no longer am tired in the day, I have energy and my attitude is better from the rest I get. -
3 weeks out and have a question
Alamoloser replied to pattycake71963's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Its different for everyone but 10lbs is a good goal and hopefully you don't hit any snags. -
I've tried it on several occasions, I mean I would've got the bypass if I wanted total restriction.

No going back now...
Alamoloser replied to Afortunada's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm a little further along than you but I can tell you the moment this weight starts falling off, your not gonna think twice about your decision. Its the best thing you could have done for yourself, you'll see.... -
No, I'm too busy freezing all the time. You might wanna make sure your not running a fever or something, Give it a few days, your body is still out of wack from the trauma it went thru.

I don't weigh myself until I go into the Dr.'s office each month, so that every time I go in, I know there's a big surprise waiting. Went in yeste day and now down to 295lbs from a starting weight of 415 a little over three months ago!
