    Headed Home And Nervous

yep 15 minutes is what I was told by my doctor also for each ounce. when you first come home your stomach is still swollen so you can only tolerate so much at a time as the swelling goes down . you'll be able to drink more with time...

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Well I am experiencing a lot of things with sleeve that I had with the band. Mainly issues with eating. Right now I am sitting here walking in place becuz I ate a piece of beef to fast and now it feels stuck in my throat. I had same exasct issue with the band. So I am familiar with alot of things like that. havent encountered any food intoletances yet (knock on wood!). Not many other differences other than the healing process is longer... I dont have issues with chicken at all which is good bcuz I love chicken breast. I have not been cleared for exercise yet tho so hopefilly when I am I can jumpstart my weightloss!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

hello Everyone. just trying to find out if anyone else is experiencing these 2 issues... first of all I have my surgery on October 17th but I don't think I'm losing any weight. I don't have a scale at home so I have been basically going according to my measurements and how much clothes fit. my measurements went up a half inch and my clothes dont fit any different.. I have my post op visit on tomorrow. second of all when I came out of the hospital I noticed I would have to hold my hand against my lower left belly which from what I read is normal.. but that has went away. its place now I have a sore pain about 1 inch above my left big incision. it looks a little swollen but not much it is not read and it is not hot. it's not a bad pain just a little sore when I am walking. I am only concerned because it is a new issue that just started 3 days ago. I have no other problems I'm walking I'm eating getting all of my protein in.. no fever no nothing just that... any input?

    Feel Like I'm A Failure

You sound like your doing great exercise....you could also be converting alot of your fat to MUSCLE!!! Lets face it alot of "us" just let the tool do all the work...with no exercise. Which is why alot need cosmetic help after. But if your doing good exercise your doing it the right way and exchanging your for tone muscle (which of course has its on weight also-just less than fat) under there. In my eyes your doing better than most. I bet your not looking flabby either. Keep up the great work!!!
  17. Oh and how long are you taking off work...me-two months
  18. Yep full liquids. I liquified my own soup lol!! Desperate times call for desperate measures :-) yeah-didnt have and negative effects from the cheese but wont do it again...but this is hard lolbvs cant wait for the next puree stage...that baby food is gonna taste like filet mignon!

  21. Oh forgot...the post op diet is STILL killing me!!!! lol I snuck and ate a corner of a slice of cheese just to have something solid in but immediately felt bad because I really want to heal properly.
  22. Awwh..well Im only 5 days post op (oct 17th) so I cant give you much but I can say that the pain immediately after waking from surgery was an 8 or 9 on a scale of 1-10. BUT they had me hit my pain pump button (morphine) and it IMMEDIATELY went down to a 4 or 6 but bearable. Only thing with me is morphine makes me nauseaus so then they hurried up and gave me something for that that also worked immediately. So when I wasnt sleeping-that cycle continued for about 12 hours with the pain getting progressively better. The 2nd day-i didnt need the pump at all. Just occassional liquid tylenol. Was given clear liquids only AFTER I passed the "no leak " xray. I got very full very quick! Struggled to get the 4oz of liquids down each hour but I managed. Had to pee a lot so that was a headache to have to call nurses every 45 min to go lol. but really started feeling better the evening of 2nd day and was bored and ready for my own bed. Was released on oct 19th!

    It's Done

Congrats!! Im 3 days postop. No problems swallowing but cannot manage to get minimum 48oz of liquids down. I feel so full all the time and get very uncomfortable when I try to force liquids. For swallowing my dr recommended taking small sip, breathe all the way OUT of your nose, and then swallow. Supposed to eliminate the air. Hope this helps
