I'm Miserable. Feeling Lots Of Pressure
Twyla replied to Twyla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I am at the doctor's been here all day. They are admitting me for pancreatitis and a blood clot that formed in my abdomen. Now we are trying to figure out how I got pancreatitis as I don't drink, my cholesterol has always been really good and my gall bladder is fine. At least now i know what was causing so much pain. It got really bad last night. I vomited all night long. I will post more when I can. Wish me luck! -

I'm going to bed way early and if this is still an issue in the am, I am calling my surgeon's office. If they can't see me than the ER will just call him down there to see me anyway! -

I'm 19 days out from surgery. Pain is in my abdomen but even worse in my back on both side like inside my rib cage area. So I guess that's middle back? I still have both my appendix and gall bladder. I wouldn't have thought gall bladder because I haven't lost all that much weight yet. I think I'm not even to 20 lbs yet. This pain isn't going away tho. My meds must be wearing off. -
My bmi was 40 or 41. I did have a preop diet when I had my lap band in 2007. I was on liquids for ten days prior. I asked this time and they just said it wasn't necessary. Maybe because mine was a revision?

I didn't have a preop diet either. Just npo 8 hours prior to surgery. So weird how different all the doctors are.

I do not drink thru a straw, I take my prilosec without fail and I was doing so so so good up until now! I hope this is just really bad gas? I hope someone else has had something similar and I'm just worrying for no reason. I am using the restroom fine, drinking fine, not dealing with hunger issues, have even felt more energy. I just don't understand what this is and how I can fix it. Maybe I just needed to vent, maybe I'm pmsing really bad as I'm due to start this week and this is my first period since surgery? I'm on the pill, and I'm very regulated. I'm just really uncomfortable and trying not to work myself up. I had the lapband since 2007 until my revision and this past year was horrible for me with weight gain and vomiting and even constant nausea the three months prior to my revision. I have been so happy to be rid of the nausea, now this. What can I do to try to alleviate gas, so I can see if that's what this is? It just doesn't feel like gas would, at least before. I am just so dang bloated up. -
I had my revision from band to sleeve on the 9th of October. I'm a week out today and doing fairly well. I'm having a hard time getting in my protein, mostly because the thought of food still turns my sore tummy, so I'm doing what I can. I chew on ice chips and sip water, lemonaid, herbal tea all day. I had a little broth today for brunch and some really soupy cottage cheese for dinner. I'm starting to feel human again. I just have to remember to stay on task with my pain meds, I forgot to take them today and I really paid for it. Won't be doing that again! How are they rest of you doing???? Anyone in WA?

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
Twyla replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My name is Twyla and I live in Steilacoom, WA. I am 37, have 3 kids, 17, 12 and 3. We just moved here with the military in June of this year. I just had my revision from lapband to VSG on October 9th. I'm glad I found this site, I need some people to talk to that are going thru the same thing! Curious if I'm going thru some sort of stage right now. I'm 5 days out and having a hard time making myself get down anything but ice chips or hot herbal tea. I just have no appetite. My stomach is telling me I'm hungry, but just the thought of broth makes me sick. I did vomit a couple times the night before last and I'm afraid I will again. It wasn't because I took in too much liquid either, it was out of nowhere. Hurt like hell! Anyway, nice to "meet" all of you! I hope we can all help each other thru our journey to healthier people! -
I know, right?! I had my surgery on the 9th and I'm struggling with trying to eat any kind of liquid protein. I just don't want anything but ice chips or hot tea. The pain is a little better but my left side and ribs are pretty sore. I had a lapband before and this was where my port was, and also where my tummy is, so I'm sure that's why mine really hurts me. I have an ice pack on it constantly. I also have problems taking my meds... haven't even begun to think about the vitamins yet. HOw are you doing with the rest of it?
