They do look yummy

I brought $200 with me for tipping and for my mom's meals and I had enough leftover to get souvenirs. I wouldn't really use my visa their (only at the Mariott) unless you are going to the mall. The reason I say that is because some times merchants take a few days to post things and if you have any discrepancies it can be difficult disputing them. My mom ate at other places besides the Mariott. If you have any other questions you can send me a message.

Super excited! I am going to be meeting with a personal trainer later this week to have a fitness assessment done and to map out a plan. I will probably let him know that I had WLS just to he on the safe side and so he will have a better understanding of my needs. Working out always makes me feel good and healthier! I don't have a NUT, so I am not too sure if I should raise my caloric intake and incorporate more complex carbs.

You can search for one online or by going to the locally gym. The key is telling them what you want, checking out their background, and if they have any success stories. Don't settle for just anyone and if you don't like their style at the gum, you can request a different trainer.

Bread...Why did I do it? :(
Pelekania replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I sorry you had to experience that. I think we all have had that moment of weakness where we ate something that we shouldn't have. The key is not continuing on that path... Learn from it and try and figure out why you did it in the first place. I have heard several people and read from a variety of authors that say weightloss is mostly mental...and if you don't deal with that part then once a person loses their weight, it will be very difficult to maintain. Figure out what your triggers are and what lead you to eating the bread. You have come too far not to. Best of luck to you and again we have all had our moments, the key is learning something from it. -
Lol I think I may want a Julian Michaels...lol but you can choose who you want. Just go and talk to someone that works at your gym and advised them that you want a personal trainer. Tell them the type of person you want... If you have free sessions... That's great because they are a little on the expensive side.

5 Weeks out and just threw up my eggs. :-(
Pelekania replied to BeccaDawn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have not had any reactions to any foods I have tried yet. I do eat pretty slow and wait before taking another bite. Also, because I read so many posts with people not being able to tolerate eggs, I bout egg beaters and make them soft. -
is pasta really that bad for you, when you can only eat 2oz ?
Pelekania replied to belle2304's topic in Food and Nutrition
I think that is a good alternative, especially since that is a vegetable. For some reason mine NEVER come out just right, either is is too mushy or crunchy. I guess I just need more practice with it and it really fills you up! -
They know you can't have those things and are intentionally buying those horrible foods for you. So many people have already hit it on the nail...sabotage, jealousy, envious...you are going to be a threat. Being bigger then them you were none of those things because for some reason skinny ppl automatically assume they look better (go figures). But now that you have taken charge of your weight issue, you best believe that they will sabotage your efforts. Recognize the wolf in sheep clothing for what it is... a darn wolf! Call them out on it and let them know that you do not appreciate it.

2 weeks post op and I want my stomach back!
Pelekania replied to Butterflyjdjl's topic in Rants & Raves
I think a lot of people go through this spell. I went through it the day of surgery because I was vomiting spit and blood every few minutes. It was absolutely horrible! Sometimes I wish I could eat a regular meal and not have to move at the speed of a turtle lol but those are just wishes. In regards to your gain, a number of reasons could be the culprit. Are you getting all of your fluids in? Eating your Protein? Is it that time of the month? Has your sodium intake been higher than usual? And the list goes on. Just speak with your doc or NUT. And know that you will lose, it's physically impossible for you not too. Lol toddlers eat more than we do. Happy Losing! -
Well she said her organs are in the wrong place. I am just surprised that no doctor (if you go to the doctor or hospital) has ever caught this. And don't the doctors use a camera when performing the surgery? They should of caught it before they punctured your darn lung. I pray everything works out for you and that your lung is healed.
-
She could possibly have situs inversus or situs ambiguus.... Which causes the normal arrangement of organs to be out of place. Or her surgeon could of just F'd up. I think the latter because it would seem like a doctor would have told her about the former a long time ago.

I am going to have to request someone that will push me to the limit as well! I forgot about going through my insurance for nutritional advice. I do have that free option of speaking (I think on the phone) about that. Definitely will check into it. At first I was contemplating getting a personal trainer, but my friend was like you paid so much for the surgery that not investing in a personal trainer would be silly. I wish you much success!

TWO WEEKS THAT I GOT SURGERY...
Pelekania replied to brenda ziranda's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The post op diet that I am following allows pretty much anything except for bad carbs like mash potatoes, grits, corn etc. As long as you chew it really well or you can mush or purée it. I will be making chili beans this week and blend it up a little. -
Congratulations on your weightloss!

I agree with thegamer and nursegrace on this one. But Which is of more importance... His friendship or possibly venturing back to trying out a relationship with him again? Personally I do not date my friends especially those individuals that are close to me. Relationships tend to have a short lifespan and if it doesn't work out then you lose a good friend. On the other hand, we hear stories all the time of friends getting together and live happy ever after. It's apparent that you are questioning his wanting to date you. I believe that you should deal with those because if you do decide to venture into a relationship, those ? will constantly be on your mind. You stated that he dated a lot, how frequently and how long did those relationships last? We are creatures of habits so that in itself could tell you a lot about his dating rituals. Good luck with whatever decision you make!

I just looked at some of the sites you provided and I have fallen in love with emilybites! Thanks for those recommendations!

How to get in all the food and liquid after surgery?
Pelekania replied to FatMamaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still on full liquids and find it easier to add unflavored protein powder to my drinks. This helps me to reach my protein and water intake goal...sometimes I do fall short with the protein if I do not continuously drink throughout the day. -
So disappointed in myself!
