[color=#800080][size=4]My story is the same as everyone's here. I'm overweight and unhealthy, and it's time for a change. I never had a problem with my weight until my adult years, after being in an auto accident that limited my activity due to pain for 2 years, then quitting smoking (x2), pregnancy, and the lovely depo provera shot (gained 60 lbs...10 lbs. with every shot) :angry: [/size][/color][color=#800080] Fortunately I was otherwise healthy up until last year when I was diagnosed with diabetes. That, combined with my high cholesterol (which I've had since a teenager thanks to genetics) makes me a ticking time bomb. Plus, I lost my mom when she was 54 yrs. old due to breast cancer, which is another risk. I've tried to lose weight for over 10+ years and have weighed the same as I do now, 270 +/- 5 lbs. Like my aunt said before she decided to get the RnY 2 years ago, "It's like beating a dead horse, and I'm tired". For me, the risks of me NOT having the surgery far outweighed the risk of the surgery itself. I've always been a quick healer and am hoping for a quick recovery.[/color]
