Your body is "catching up" to the loss. If you haven't already, take your measurements because you'll usually lose inches when you're not losing the weight. Your scale will drop once your body adjusts....I'm 2 months out and stalled the 1st time for a 10 days and the 2nd time for 2 weeks...so I'm down 32 lbs. in 2 months, but I've also lost 12" and am down 2 sizes. Hang in there!

coming up with a after surgery menu
Traci J. replied to rmkwk1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't buy too much food; I bought all the soups, yogurts, popsicles ,etc...and hardly ate any of it. I wasn't hungry and was hard enough to get my protein and liquids in to really eat anything. And now that I can eat pretty much anything...all the stuff I bought for post-op is still sitting there because I don't want them anyway. Good luck and I hope you have a quick recovery. -
I kept all mine on, just make sure you have clear polish. They just need to be able to see the color in underneath.

So I'm 9 weeks post-op and haven't had any problems eating anything i've tried. The problem is, It seems like all I eat is chicken, eggs, ham/cheese rolls, shrimp or meatballs. I'm bored with all these but can't think of anything else to eat that will get me the protein i need without having to drink 2 shakes a day. I don't like fish, other than shrimp, and I was told not to eat tough meats or vegetables until I'm 12 weeks out. I'm still only allowed 40g of carbs a day, so that also restricts alot of what I can eat. Anybody got any good recipes or ideas to help me mix it up a bit? Thanks for the help.

How many times is too many to call your insurance?
Traci J. replied to Emilee68's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'd call tomorrow, if it's still pending I'd ask why and make sure they have received ALL the paperwork. I was approved in 2 days, so not sure why it'd take more than a week....although I guess it depends on your insurance company. Good luck! -
I agree. Thanks for sharing.

Can we have rice?
Traci J. replied to geneseohubcap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't recommend it; I was told not to have more than a baby spoon of rice because it expands in your stomach. So if you eat until you're full, then it expands...you vomit! So if you try it, good luck! -

Soft food stage or 4-5 weeks out, what r u eating ?
Traci J. replied to Luckystar12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut told me not to worry about fat grams, just to focus on getting 700 calories, less than 40g. carbs, 50+ protein a day, and 64+ oz. of fluid not counting protein shakes. I'm 5 weeks out and can eat anything other than breads, veggies, fruits, and strinky/tough foods. -
Premeire Protein Drinks from Costco - BEST EVER
Traci J. replied to IMWORTHIT2013's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I wish they carried the strawberry to; I might ask them if they can order me a case of it. I'd get it off the website but with S&H it's ridiculous. I'll just add berries to the vanilla. 2tsp. of lemon pudding in the vanilla is AWESOME! -
I'd wait a day or 2 then call your insurance company...otherwise you might be waiting awhile for the surgeon's office to get back to you. I had my approval within 48 hours. Good luck!

Gmanbat and wife, B&A pics
Traci J. replied to gmanbat's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
FAB-YOU-LOUS!! You both look great, and so happy. It must have been a great journey to go through it with the one you love. Congrats! What an inspiration. -
My husband was pretty much the same way. But in the end he was just worried about me dying on the table. Now that it's done, he has actually began to watch his own diet better. Your wife won't need to plan meals much, at least not for you, because you probably won't be hungry post-op and when you are you will need to focus on protein first. Once you are able to eat regular foods again, you can eat whatever you want, just only a few bites. I told my hubby he was on his own for dinners until I could eat more and then I'd start cooking again. He was ok with that....so maybe tell your wife not to worry about it creating more work for her, cause if anything it'll be alot less.

Ketosis breath- funny
Traci J. replied to LindsayRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used my ketosis breath as a weapon; when my husband was being a smartass I'd threaten to breath on him. LMAO -
Newbie looking for guidance
Traci J. replied to KDT8402's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your upcoming sleeve. Here is a couple websites that have great, easy recipes for all stages. The mini-muffins are the perfect size for our new tummies. I'm almost 6 weeks out and can eat 3 of them. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ & http://www.emilybites.com/ -
