My husband diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. :'(
carstanger replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. Remember that only God knows. Make sure you take care of yourself as your daughter needs you healthy, too. Pray he beats the odds and he stays with your family. He always will be with both of you!!! Prayers for healing and comfort. -

Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under
carstanger replied to ladymacwhiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 14 months out and proud to say I'm still 5ft2in. Have lost 1/2 inch over the years. I was 65 when I had the surgery, and was 22/24 or 1x, 2x depending on the clothes. I have lost 100.5 pounds and was 125.4 yesterday.....5 pounds below my goal. Want to maintain now so that I don't go above 130. Wearing a size 8P,10p or 12 P depending on the style of pants. Medium or Large P on top. Never weighed that. Have lots of loose skin so not sure what I will do. My body is still changing though. Good luck with your journey!! -

so sorry for this tragic turn of events!! Remember your good times. I pray for peace! We are here for you! -
When traveling I eat the egg white and white cheese out of the as sandwich, ask for side order of scrambled eggs, or Wendy's chili. I have continued to lose weight on every vacation since I had the sleeve surgery! Plan ahead and look up foods or bring things with you in a cooler.

Decaf only and I do fine!!!

Just hit 125.8 today ... Almost 100 pounds. Want some wiggle room. Dr Gluck's goal was 130 but he told me at 1 year out that was just a number! Started at 225.514 months ago!

Tools of the trade: Gadgets/Journals

14 months out. I have been tracking in myfitnesspal.com for over a year. I changed it to 75 grams of protein by changing it to 1200 calories. I have figured out which dishes to use for certain measurements. Hope this helps. -

Maintenance, life at goal, the thoughts that go through my mind as a "vet"
carstanger replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I'm scared too! Have been tracking on myfitnesspal.com for a year and will continue just because. I also weigh every day but now with my clothes on so I have a better idea of where I am when I go to the doctor's. In the midst of buying a vacation place and know that the stress and decision making would make it really easy to gain. Hope to close and move the stuff in that we're buying for it by the middle of Feb. Lots of decisions!!! All our friends take the idea that this is vacation and they can eat the extra stuff but I'm trying to be keep on the way I have been!! -
Protein -- i hate Unjury.
carstanger replied to umrebel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sorry you are having problems. I like Unjury so don't know what to tell you! Good luck! -
I don't like the unflavored. I now have strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, protein cheese. And chicken soup that I use, 14 months out!
-
Don't know what the first one is... Love the Unjury.

Surgery 11/12/12. Highest weight 225.5, current weight128.6z size 8p, 10p, 12p depending on style. Started at 1xor 2x. Normal Bmi!!! Feel great!! -
I like Unjury strawberry and add banana and ice for a smoothie! Also! I use the chocolate flavor. Add cold coffee or milk and I like that. Just got the vanilla and that is good with pumpkin. Etcour nut gave us recipes to use with the protein. I have one a day or a pure protein choc peanut butter bar with 20 grams of protein. I still don't eat a lot so I need to substitute.

Do you work for your weight loss or do the pounds just fall off?
carstanger replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am slimiest 14 months out.. I still track all my food daily on my fitness pal .com and my exercise. I am my doctor's goal on my scale but trying to get a few pounds under as his is always heavier and of course I'm dressed. He wants me in normal BMI with some wiggle room. I actually continued to lose during the holidays but it's more difficult now. We were traveling and I didn't exercise. Water aerobics this morning ! Getting back on track!! I know this is work for me and a lifestyle change!
