Hello Junies! I hope some of you remember me....I sure remember many of you and keep you close at heart!!! BigBaby..thank you for your message. That meant so much!!!! I'm looking at all these tickers and I'm just amazed!!!! You all are doing soooooo fantastic! Way to go! One year looks good on you! I'm so very proud of you, for you and couldn't be happier for you....I know it couldn't have been super easy! I wish I had some milestones to celebrate, too, but I never did "click" with the band. I had a hard time tolerating foods....lots of pbing, sliming, etc. so I had all my fill removed. I'm much happier, but don't have any weight loss to report. <sigh> So I have regret, but I'm doing fine! Just wanted to say I'm still your biggest cheerleader and sorry I don't tell you enough how proud I am, etc....just know I keep you in my thoughts! :smile2: XOXOXOXO, Toni

I can commiserate & relate, Bug! :frown: I was banded before you and have lost less than you!!!! Uggggggh! Off to Jenny Craig for me and I'm NOT HAPPY about it. Hang in there. Hugs, Toni

Should I have had a different surgery
toniteach replied to suefromca's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Sue, I don't have any solutions for you...but I just wanted to jump in and give you a big hug! I can definately comisserate and tell you that when I was feeling like you, I went in for a slight un-fill and now I can eat foods that are good for me like chicken, etc. that I couldn't tolerate before without sliming and PBing all the time. Yuck! I don't know if I should've had a different surgery, but I sure wish I hadn't gotten the band. It's not been at all what I thought it would be. I hope yours works out for you. Big, big hugs! Yes, New Jersey...I think you are correct! So glad to have found this thread.....I may be the slowest loser there is! Bee...you are not alone! Ugggh! Toni

Lost my willpower and motivation
toniteach replied to NJ_gal_in_VA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
New Jersey: That is so funny: I called SEVERAL Lap-Band doctors in my area to see how much they charged to get my band removed. :nervous I was seriously considering it, too!:cry But it's sooooooooo expensive. :omg: I decided then just to get all my saline removed (that's free) but the technician just removed some, so I still have some restriction. Funny---but I've never really "felt" restricted. I can either eat everything or nothing (slime/PB) Suzzzie...thank you for your posts. I'll try to eat more slowly. I'll try to be a better bandster! But honestly, I think I'd perform better on WW or Jenny Craig! I don't know what the deal is with me! The band and I have never <clicked>. Uggggggh Sorry to come across as a downer, but it's so comforting to know I'm not alone! Misery loves company, right?!? I certainly appreciate all the support, and I'm here for you, NJ! Cheers! Lost my willpower and motivation
toniteach replied to NJ_gal_in_VA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi NJ Gal, Wow...I could've written your post, except I didn't lose quite as much as you! And I had a hard time with foods and PBing/Sliming, so I had to go in for a slight unfill. Now I can eat pretty much all foods with little PBing, and I feel much better. I can't speak for you, but I think in my situation, I am just not a candidate for the Lap-Band. I wish I could turn back the clock and save my husband so much money, and myself so much grief! :think I have thought about trying a different approach: maybe Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, but not sure yet. That's my life story. And, like you, I am currently not exercising but MAYBE once/week. So pitiful! I wish there were a forum for us----the "lost" ones! Hang in there and let us know what you decide to do. I'm behind you 110%!!! BIG hugs, Toni -
My experience, glad the journey is ending

Hala, I'm so glad to hear everything went well...and that your insurance will cover the cost of your removal! Hooray! I just KNEW you'd be A-OK, and hope that the rest of your journey will be a successful one. That's kinda scary about the scar tissue with your liver, but I'm sure it's OK, too. Take the Best of Care!!!! Cheers, Toni -

Hi Hala, I'm sorry you had trouble with your band. Is your surgeon taking it out for "free"? Or is your insurance paying for it? (You lucky dog!) Just curious! Thanks and best wishes on Monday...I'll be thinking of you! Good luck with your finals as well.... Toni -
I'm so glad there are people out there who can relate to me so I don't feel so alone!!!! I must say, Condanchri, you should be so PROUD...90 pounds is so incredible! But it is a pain to have so many problems....and I'm sick of being sick after my meals!!!! And sick of eating junk.....and on and on. Thanks for letting me whine here. I don't feel comfortable doing it with "unbanded" friends. BTW...this post was interrupted as it was my dinnertime after I started typing, so I ate a little pasta and....you guessed it! Couldn't keep it down. Pass the chips. ~Toni

MM~ I'm sorry your band didn't work for you, but think you're going to sail right through your removal surgery: no worries! I must say: I'm really envious that your insurance will be paying for it. I'd like to have mine removed, too (electively) but I'll be paying out-of-pocket. I hope that everything will go smoothly, and that when the time comes, you will do what's best for you on this wild and willy journey! Take good care, Toni
