LB....I'm a Journey Lite alum, too! Could the pains in your stomach be from your port? Are the pains anywhere near your port or around that area? I sometimes get a "stitch in my side" and I think the culprit is the port healing itself. But if the pain persists no matter what...call the office and talk to the nurse. Better be safe than sorry! :paranoid:) Hugs, Toni

Hi, It's me---the melodrama queen of the board, it seems! I just have to share with you what happened yesterday and hope like heck it won't happen to YOU all, my friends! Does anyone suffer from migraines? I do. I take a daily preventative, even, (Topamax) but occasionally one slips through. Tuesday morning I woke up with a KILLER/DOOZIE of a Migraine. I quickly took some anti-nause Rx and my migraine med. (Maxalt) but it didn't help. Between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. I dry-heaved about 15-20 times. I'm NOT exaggerating. And each time I was worried to death about my band, and at one point even started to pray. Today my sides hurt from wretching so much. I don't know what the problem was: usually I only vomit once, maybe twice max. But yesterday it just never stopped. Oh, and I'll spare you with all the details on how my husband is a saint: I was on the couch ALL DAY AND NIGHT and I have two children to look after. He made arrangements for them, by the Grace of God! I couldn't pick up the phone yesterday to call my Dr.s office, and today the nurse is out, so I left a message for her to call me tomorrow. I'm just so afraid of the "what ifs" again. What if I ripped my internal stitches or slipped the band, or will have cause future slippage? I just feel so helpless. Sorry if I am boring everyone to tears with my problem :bored Just wanted to warn all of you with migraines to take your Rx the SECOND you feel one coming on to avoid the nausea/vomiting that may follow. I wish I would've woken at 4 a.m. and done so. But what's done is done.... <sigh>, Toni

OK, Insub...that does it! Where is the pile of sand I can go stick my head in???? Now I'm worried beyond sick. <imagine whining voice> ....but I was just SO starved Friday night, I didn't know when to stop until it was too late. And to the contrary, I DID feel major discomfort. Please, Lord, let everything be OK. Unfortunately, I may have done some serious damage. Ugggggggh. Let me be the poster child for the rest of you! Then some good can come of this. You DON'T want to be in my shoes right now. How can one tell if the band has been moved? A Flouroscope? I guess I'll find out at my first fill..... Toni (who can't take it anymore!):paranoid

I know what you mean, Hotty.....my Dr. looked at my Tummy on Friday and he said (referring to my port and one other incision), "don't pick or peel the scabs" so I thought, "then please don't itch!" I've been putting Mederma on them, but not faithfully like 3-4 times a day as suggested on the package.... Lucy, on Friday night I overate and may or may not have done damage / future damage. I wish I would've had your conviction.....I appreciate your post. I must be a weakling----just have been feeling very healed and ready for the next level! I know...too much, too soon. Janine...thanks for the restaurant suggestion! I'm vowing NEVER to let Friday night happen again. Today I ordered a bowl of chicken pot pie soup, and it was DELISH, but I wouldn't let myself finish it. Progress! Hope you had fun in the sun today...it was a rainy day here. :cry Kland, Thinner, Suzzie...glad to hear you are doing so well! Hugs to all! Toni

Dawn and Pippz...glad to hear your surgeries went well, and you are both doing great with your diets. Dawn....I had the opposite problem on the pot, but found out it was because of the meds I was taking for pain. Try your best to keep hydrated!!!!! Cheers to you both! Toni

Hi Pacu, My nutritionist took me off fluids on Day 6---she said I was past due. I started eating yogurt, babyfood, etc... from that day and it's progressed since. :rolleyes Some doctors like their pts. to be on liquids for two weeks. Maybe that's your diet? It's a GREAT conservative, safe approach and ensures GREAT healing. Cheers, Toni

Serena....you are being a GOOD GIRL and doing the diet perfectly and I highly encourage you to keep up the great work! :clap2::clap2: I am all about texture, and I think that's why I skipped the pureed part past the baby food I had after about day 5. Wish I could drop by your pad and see if I could help you with your ticker....don't give up! Try a different website like this one: http://www.my-calorie-counter.com/Weight-Loss-Ticker.asp

I just found out yesterday that I was banded with the AP band, and I didn't even know it! I was his first patient with this band, and it hadn't even been released in the US widely yet. This whole time I was thinking I got the other, older tried-n-true band. I wish I knew the manufacturer or something so I could read about it. I tried to google it but got no great results. I think someone wrote about it a zillion pages ago, but I can't even find it with a search! Oh well! Toni

Hi Hotty, I'm still sore at the port, too, and I think it's to be expected: it's sewn into muscle, isn't it? Ouch! I'm sooooooo with you on not wanting to damage my band and I VERY HIGHLY DOUBT you did ANYTHING at all to yours! I've had lots of meals like that with pressure, etc. But last night took the cake for me and I'm also praying that I didn't botch things: You all know I've been living on the edge here. I'm just eating anything I want! I feel like I've completely healed and I've got nothing but a hollow tube where my band is around----total unrestriction. .....so last night I waited too long between lunch and dinner and I was s-t-a-r-v-i-n-g. I'm talking b*tchy, hypoglycemic hungry. And we went out to eat and I ordered this "healthy" taco salad which came in two sizes. I ordered the smaller. And I ate the whole thing. It was soooooooo good tasting and I was soooooooooo hungry. Well, the problem was I couldn't handle all the food inside and I got MISERABLE. Almost like I could die (not really, but I'm saying it for effect). And I kept thinking----what did I just do to my band???? Please Lord, don't let any of the stitching pop over a stupid taco salad! I called my sister out of state and told her, and we talked for a long time. I was thinking I needed to see a psychiatrist to learn HOW TO STOP EATING! She gave me a lot of useful advice, but I still feel so bad. I was just so grateful to see the sun this morning and start a new day. So my question to you Hotty and everyone: what tools do you have in place to to push away when you are satisfied and not keep eating just because it tastes good and you think you are still a wee bit hungry????? I'm just going to try to stop on my own....willpower....force myself. Any other solutions? I'm getting my first fill on the 25th and the day can't come soon enough! Thanks, Toni

Hi BB, Yes, I mixed my shakes with fruit into oblivion in a blender, but then was "on the pot" all day....don't know if there was a connection with the berries???? I've used a SMALL teaspoon of peanut butter in mine, too, and that was divine!!!! I may not be the one to be asking though, because I ventured away from mushies very quickly. :embarassed: I can't wait 'till June 25th when I get my first fill! I ate my jello. HTH, Toni
