Hi Junies! What's this liquid/clear diet you all are on pre-op? I have 3 more days of "normal-old" eating left before I start my pre-op diet, but it consists of lean meats, veggies, salads, oatmeal etc. (no fats, no sugars) plus two "liquid" Protein shakes/day. Is that considered a liquid diet, or are you all on something different altogether? i.e. literally liquid? I'm curious! Congrats on all of you who are exercising their booties off! I'm going to start later this week when I feel motivated from the pre-op diet. Doesn't that sound silly? Less calories in, and more calories out! Anyone have a secret to share on how to get on their treadmill each day? I read in "O" magazine it'll take 3 weeks of straight exercise before I'll start to like it/crave it. YUCK! :faint: Anywhoo, I hope I see the scale move during pre-op, too, KT, or I'll feel discouraged for sure. I'm thinking you may see a big drop in a day or so! Hang in there! ---Toni (who has no idea how to make a cute ticker after her name, besides going to the website!) :help:

Hotty...you are the whip! Thanks for the calendar and a DEEP appreciation to you all for sharing your stories and viewpoints about "To Tell or Not to Tell....." I'm right there. I know it's a long way off, and I'm sure we'll cross that road when we get there, but I already am cringing about the "how did you lose your weight" questions that will arise! I'm so excited for all you June 1st bandsters! Doesn't it seem so close??? It's May 20th already! (Or the 21st for KT) Hope you all had a good weekend! Toni

Hi Hotty! Your post had me smiling about the "Santa Claus" but it also brought to mind something I wanted to ask you all about: how do you feel about telling people about the band? Maybe someday I'll be very comfortable with it, but for now I'm just not ready to broadcast it to all my friends. :embarassed: I think they've seen me struggle with the yo-yoing and I've straight-out failed at all my other attempts to lose weight. I just don't want people to be thinking in the back of their minds, "Wow, what a last-ditch desperate measure. Surely she could've just watched her intake and exercised more?!?" ....and I know I shouldn't care what others think, or wonder what they think. OH, and I'm self-pay and I surely don't want to go around answering questions about how much I paid, why my insurance didn't,:think etc.... Please don't misunderstand---I couldn't be more excited about getting banded!!!! I just can't wait! I know it's the answer for me and the beginning of my journey to the way I want to live! So how are you all with this? Are you shouting from the rooftops, mum, or somewhere in-between??? Thanks, Toni

KT...70 minutes on the treadmill? KUDOS! That's fantastic!!!!! I'm good for about 30, and out! Suzzzie...Costco is great if you have a friend to share things with that you purchase since you're single. But most things aren't really all that "bulky" Like tennis shoes, batteries, books, etc. And you really do use up the food you buy, and I love the laundry soap, toilet paper, etc. I can't stand buying that stuff every other week! Costco just has a great reputation of having quality things. Go sometime with your friends. Cheers! Toni (OK, I'll get off my Costco soapbox now!)

Marie! That sounds like a GREAT shopping list. Yeah for Costco! :hungry: (imagine a straw instead of the fork and knife!) Can I ask you what kind of protein drinks you bought/where they're located? I'm with you on picking up the easy to make meals for hubby while doing all the post-op dieting. But I don't think I'll like preparing it, nonetheless!!!!! Anyone else joining this Costco Shopping Sisterhood!?!? Toni

Nina...does Dr. Sweeney require a pre-op diet like Musical Momma and I (and most on the board) are going to do, or do you get to eat normally up until June 5? Toni

Thank you, Nina, for all the EXCELLENT Costco tips!!! I will be using my membership to the hilt now! I'm going to be banded by Dr. Collier. He's super friendly and I can't wait to see "his work" on the 7th! Thanks for asking! How many days till you're banded? How is everyone else doing today?!? Nvalicia....I'm sorry about your migraine. I had one on Tuesday, and I won't paint the ugly picture, but I feel sooooooo bad for you! Get well, and hang in! Toni

Just wanted to say hello to you all and let you know how impressed I am with you and your enthusiasm! You are all being soooooooo GOOD! Am I alone here? I'm just eating "normal"---not overboard---until my pre-op diet next week. I am NOT dieting, though. No counting calories, etc... I also have a banding date in Houston, TX of June 7th! I'm so glad to have the support of so many women going though this together---I'm very appreciative. :help: Someone mentioned picking up some "things" at Costco. What did you buy there? I'm curious!!!!! (and a Costco fanatic!) Thanks, Toni
