{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ Java }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Don't be silly! Whether you want it or not, you are getting banded this month!!!! teeheehee BTW..congrats on your son's upcoming nuptuals (sp?) Will this be your first wedding of a child?!? Talk about exciting. I don't want some goofy gallbladder to spoil anything for you! Anyway, I'm so sorry for your Gallbladder worries, and I'm hoping to see a post from you very soon with an update. I'm thinking benign, benign, benign!!! And----Hey, Sweets, I thought of you today: I was able to manage a HALF cup of Java as opposed to my normal 3. It wasn't that I couldn't tolerate the whole cup, it didn't taste like it used to, so I'm reaaaaaaaaaally hoping it's just part of this healing process. I was missing the ole "Gotta have my Java" feeling. Anyway, please, please post soon! Toni

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ Serena }}}}}}}}}}}}}} I'm sooooooo sorry for the loss of your friends----no doubt about it you are missing them. I told my extended family about the band and a few friends, but not everyone, and you'll find that there are a few people on our board who've chosen not to mention it to anyone, either. I completely understand!!!! I said this in another post, but I have an IRL friend who lost 111 pounds this year, her first year, on the band. She's having a photo shoot next week from her Dr.'s company, and may even wind up on a billboard! Talk about coming out of the closet....she's got some jitters! Let us know how your book is! And on another note, anyone heard from our Fab 5 today? I know some very sore ladies have woken up from their surgeries, and a few might even be home, Godwilling! ----Toni
-
Nina, I just love you! Your prayers worked! Thanks everyone! I'm home now in bandland!!!!!!!! Doing great, just feel like I was socked in the abdomen. GREAT experience, and can't wait to compare notes tomorrow with the rest of you. GODSPEED! Toni
-
Thanks for the well wishes, Java....and I hope the gall bladder test runs smooth as silk! Off to shower, get my stuff together, and I'm off to a new beginning! Can't WAIT for all of us to join in bandland...it will be here before we know it!!!! Hugs, Toni
-
Thanks, Faith, You rock with the info! I can't wait to look "informed" tomorrow and ask my Dr. which one I'm getting! It's Go Time is right, Hotty! Thanks for the well wishes!!! Cheers, Toni

Hi All! Has anyone heard how Hoosier did today? I'm excited for our front runner!!!! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight, but I'm going in tomorrow at 8 a.m. for bloodwork and an EKG, and if everything checks out, I'll be in banded at 10 a.m.! I'm just soooooo pumped~! I had some pintos and cheese tonight thinking: this will taste GREAT when I can eat pureed foods later. :hungry: I'm also enjoying the HECK out of my last Diet Coke! BTW...my band will be an Inamed or however you spell it! Guess whatty? I have a "IRL" friend who celebrated her first bandiversary today. Get this: she lost 111 pounds this year! Isn't that amazing?!? I think we can, too! I think we can, I think we can, I think we can..... (see my ticker!) Just incase I can't get online to post tomorrow, I want to wish all the best and lots of hugs and prayers to Hotty, <O:p</O:pLisa H, <O:p</O:pMM, Kt 999 &<O:p</O:p Nvalicia on Friday!!!!!! Come July 1, we'll all be in BANDLAND!!!!!! ---Toni

I hear you loud and clear, Lucy.....it's hard to be around certain people and food with this pre-op dieting. For me, I'm out of state right now with my extended family and it's ALL ABOUT FOOD! Ugggggggh! Thanks for your kind words, Hotty! Have a Pedi for me...that's sound soooooooooo amazing right now! Enjoy every bit of your pampering. You have earned it!!! Cheers everyone! Toni

This modified liquid diet has me feeling almost GUILTY among you all. I had oatmeal for breakfast, then I get an AmazeRX shake for lunch. Are any of you on that protein powder? I think it's pretty good! At least for all your sacrifices on the liquid diet you'll have lost a bunch of weight going into your band. In essence: your journey really has begun! Two days till banding...can't believe it! Wowsers! Thanks, Nina...for your post! Have a GREAT Day, Junies!!!!!
-
Yep...I've already been using the flushable wipees! Fun, fun stuff! Welcome Clarice. So glad you don't have to do the pre-op diet. It's not too fun. Have fun at Pirates, MM! Today's my nephew's HS Open House and it's all about FOOD. Heaven will help me! I can't wait till we're ALL Banded! Toni
-
MM....I'm REALLY proud of you!!! That takes nerves and resolve of steel! Way to go!!!! Toni
-
Just click on your ticker and it will take you there from what I think....Way to go, Java!!!!!! Woo Hoo! :clap2:

Well, I can say that I cheated today. I had some dough from a HUGE batch of cookies my sister was making. I know I'm going to H&*L in a handbasket. I am thinking of my liver obsessively and getting on track. Just thought I'd confess and also say how proud I am of everyone else! Think I'll go for a walk! XOXOX, Toni
-
HuntersMom....7 Whole Pounds! WOW! That's FANTASTIC!!!!!! Good going Girl! ---Toni
-
Thank you, Missy...that's inspiring enough for me!!! I'm not on a liquid diet, though, just a modified one, so it's hard to know how "good" to be, but I'm trying!!! (I didn't even mention I'm not home, but out-of-state with my extended family until banding day....so it's REALLY tough!!!) Thanks again for sharing that---your husband must be so proud of himself!! Toni
-
INSUB! Glad we are getting banded together!!!! How are you doing? Are you on a diet? I need to scroll back and read your posts.... Broker---I'm a self-pay, too! I know how you feel about it. It's NOT easy to dish out the dough/finance, but it will so be so worth it! Java...how did your pre-op go???? {{{{{{ Hottie }}}}} Thanks for changing the calendar date for me! I'm not doing too well on my Pre-Op diet today...it's too subjective and so I'm a little disappointed in myself. But I haven't had any fats or sugars, so I guess that's a good thing. I must say....I'm PROUD of all of you who starve yourselves day in, day out and are losing weight!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!:clap2: Cheers, Toni

Hi Junies, I can't believe this, but my Dr. is having a procedure done and won't be available to do my surgery on June 7th, so he moved me UP to May 31st. I'm in complete shock and disbelief. Un/fortunately I'll miss a week of the pre-op diet, but I have to be Super Strict-ola. This is just happening soooooo fast! BUT if you think you're getting rid of me to a May 2007 board.....forget it! I'm hooked on you all! So Hotty, would you mind adding me to our June calendar if it isn't too much of a pain???? MM....I can't believe you already got your bike and took it for a spin! I'm super proud! I hope you're not too sore tomorrow. You know what they say: get right back on! No pain, no gain!!!! Jackie...I loved the visual of "we're all in this together"! That should be our mascot! Lucy...I'm totally envious that only your husband knows about your band. I think that's really neat. And I really like your avatar! Anyway, I'm too much of an open book when it comes to my (extended) family and close friends, though, not to say anything. Especially with all this excitement, but I wish only my husband, Mom and sister knew and I could have left it at that! Everyone else: Hope you are doing well and having fun counting down the days! ---Toni
-
Jackie...that's too bad that your Dr. doesn't seem too informative. How about his office staff?? You're right, though: there's loads of info on here, and I love what I'm learning every day from our threads alone! Just an aside----even if your Dr. is the pits with disseminating info, I hope he's one heckuva surgeon for you! That's what counts!!!! I'm glad you like the shadow buddy idea, though your husband is a built in one for sure!!! I love it when I hear about husband/wives having bands together. So cool! (But is it just me, or does it chap your hide when they lose weight so quickly and easily!!!! :heh: ) teeheehee! I'm excited about you all cleaning out your cupboards and fridges! Unfortunately, my husband loves chocolate, and my girls love chips, so I just ignore that stuff! As far as my girls go, they do love a variety of foods, and hopefully will take on my good habits, because quite honestly, they've been the pits lately! My favorite binge food is little cinnamon powdered sugar donettes. They will be banished forever starting tomorrow and I'm feeling really bittersweet about it! ---Toni

Congrats on the purchase of your new baby, MM!!!! I have a nice bike, too, that I've ridden less than a dozen times in a few YEARS! I also have a trailer that goes behind it so I can take my girls. It's just too hard for me with my weight, and I am self-conscious like you said. I hope that this fall, when the weather is cooler in Texas, I'll be out there taking the girls around again. If anything, I should be getting tired of the treadmill, even though the treadmill is a beaute: it has a TV screen that I can watch my TiVo'd programs and a fan!!! Now I just need some extra motivation to get on it and watch my shows. It's easier to do it from my comfy bed!! I was wanting to get a good pair of shoes just for the treadmill. Any suggestions??? Thanks! Toni

Talk about excitement in the air....Janine, I can *feel* it in your post!!!! I'm so excited for you, for us all! We have the same Band-Day, and I thought I'd share what I'm planning as far as last supper/s. I'm having two! One tonight with my immediate family...we're going out for seafood since I've heard shrimp can be almost a no-no with the band. I can't imagine that if you chew it forever, but who knows???? Then tomorrow I'm going to meet my Mom at my favorite restaurant that I can visit anytime after banding, but just want to eat "normally" one last time! Then I say, bring on the 2 week pre-op diet! I'm actually anxious to start, though I'm sure after one week I may not feel the same  Cheers! --Toni

Hi Junies! Hotty....I still can't get over that calendar! It rocks! And you get to drink diet coke some day????? OMGOSH!!!!!! That is unreal! Can we trade surgeons!??! j/k I really do love mine, but if he gave me that news....I'd kiss his feet!!!!! Thanks for the head's up on the calories in Viactive. Figures!!!! I do have a super-huge container of tums, though, so I'm ready! Nvalcia, how's the diet and headaches going? Hope the migraines are at bay. I really can empathize with you there! I even take Topamax to prevent them. Welcome Lisa and Dakota! Suzzzie....I have thought a little bit about what you touched on. I LOVE Wendy's Vanilla Frosty's, etc.... and know they will sabotage any hard work I put into the band. You are so right about it being a tool!!!! I think I have to walk away from them for good or reward myself for every 10 or 20 lbs. lost with one. I haven't decided!!!! Belive me, with being self-pay, it makes it even more scary. It's like I have to be extra mindful...extra careful....extra committed to doing the right thing. I have a friend who was banded 11 months ago who has lost 108 pounds. Her success, she claims, was that she shadowed another bandster. I think that's key. We can support one another on this board through diet and exercise (and she doesn't exercise much that I know of!) Maybe that's an idea we could throw around: We could find a buddy to shadow from this board---a co-sponsor-buddy-system of sorts. I know I'd love to have one. Just a thought! Cheers! Toni

MJSafari....I can TOTALLY relate to that Love/Hate piece! Every single stanza!!! TFS! BIG Congrats Hoosier...I wish I were in your shoes. I didn't even try to go through my ins. I spoke to them on the telephone and found out I'd fail one of their credentials. What a rush that must've been when you got the good word! Hope everything goes well with your consultation/pre-op. Jackie...I love the Crystal Light on-the-gos! I don't love them as much as diet coke with squeezed lime, but I'll learn to!!! I haven't tried the Walmart variety, but sounds like it's worth checking out. I really like the Propel version, too. It mixes so easily and you get a little vitamin to boot. Speaking of vitamins----Any thoughts on my vitamin post??? TIA, Toni
-
Call me a masochist, but I might just try a day or two of liquid diet while on Pre-op just so I can commiserate! MM...I love your ticker! What a neat way to watch the days disappear until BAND-DAY! Anyone considering vitamins? Centrum Chewables or something else? Just wondering. I have taken prenatals religiously just because Dr. Oz (Oprah's guest Dr.) said they're the best in his book....YOU an Owners Manual. Just want to be sure I get the best chewable-bang for my buck! And I guess chew them up after breakfast like normally? (time-wise) Is that your plan? I'm actually looking forward to the Viactiv for calcium. I think Costco has a cheaper knock-off. Cheers!

Wow, KT, those are my favorites, too! Eating out with friends and diet coke....especially dc from a fountain! I'm worried how they will go until I went to a support group with a bunch of banded women and it was a dinner meeting at a mexican restaurant! They were all eating chips and salsa, had iced tea or water, and ordered from the appetizer menu or a-la-carte. It was really cool! One lady got a HUGE taco salad and just put what she didn't eat in a to-go box. Another thing I think I'll miss like crazy, though, is drinking while eating. I'm sure it'll get easier as time goes by, but it will be tough on my at first. And yes, Hotty, I'm really going to enjoy my few days left of "old" eating. And I'm going to miss them----like crazy. I already have my last meal planned at one of my fave restaurants! But we all have so much to look forward to!!!! Now pass the little powdered donettes (Just kidding!) Hugs, Toni

What I meant, Hotty, was are all liquid pre-op diets modified, like mine??? (Because words like "clears" were confusing to me) Thanks for letting me know. I realize we're on all sorts of different diets now. ----Toni
