Oh Laura...and I was climbing our stairs to the 2nd floor where my bedroom is on day one! Woo Hoo! (but if you have a recliner, you may decide to sleep in it the first night or so.....)
-
I'll be honest....I would look like a Neanderthal :eek without my liquid hydrocodone the first two days only....I was sore, but I bet there are others who could tend a garden and wash windows on day one! I'm telling you, Laura, you'll be fine as frog's hair!:gluck: ----Toni

Hi Laura, I really babied myself, and I was up and driving on the 4th day, and I have a manual transmission. I totally could've done it sooner, though. I was just erring on the side of being a baby!!!!! HTH! Toni

Marlynncreel, <O:p</O:pJava, and <O:p</O:pDakota'84 YOU ARE UP! Woo Hoo! And if today's surgeries are any indication of how you are going to do tomorrow....you're going to do GREAT! We've already got posters from TODAY'S BANDSTERS. And I love these stories: lo2us, Woman!, I cannot believe you WOKE UP! I bet your anesthetist about fainted!!!! That was my biggest fear, that I would wake up! How surreal that must've felt!?!? I hope the rest of your experience was a good one. Are they making you (and everyone) use a breathing machine thingy at home to keep your lungs clear/strong? I've been bad about using it....but I'm sure they're clear as a bell. Congrats on your AP Band, Becks! I'm so envious that you are a size small. I don't know what size I am, but I bet it's not small! Your whole post had me smiling ----- glad you had such an awesome experience!!!! Dawneb....I don't want to sound encouraging, so put DOWN the fork around future sightings of mac -n- cheese, but I cheated on my pre-op diet. For Pete's sake I even sampled my sister's cookie dough. :opps2: and my pre-op diet was cut short, it was one week vs two, and I still was banded with a liver that looked "Great". I'm NOT advocating cheating....just forgiveness and to try again tomorrow just like Pippz suggested! Well, Hunter'sMom....I just had a protein shake for dinner, so you know what that means.....:brushteeth: Cheers! Toni

Good luck tomorrow Michelle! I hear you about being tired all the time. But that will soon be a memory. Already, I feel *different* and I know it's just going to keep getting better. Woo Hoo!!!!!!! ---Toni

Rita-Girl, The last thing I drank was a fountain diet coke at 10:30 p.m. the night before I was banded. I feel your pain!!!! Believe me....everyone says you won't miss them...and they're right. It's like a miracle. I don't even think about them! Right now I'm enjoying Raspberry Lemonade Crystal Lite. You'll find another addiction. I promise!!!!!!

Hi Stef! I had to look Hurst, TX up on the map and see that it's in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I'm in Houston----only 4 hours apart :omg: I wish you all the best with your band and I'm so glad your sister has had good luck with her WLS. My sister had the G-Bypass about 7 years ago, and gained her weight back.:heh: I think it's great that you'll both have had WLS and be successful! Welcome to the June Board!!!! Toni <------ constipated Welcome Wagon :tired;)

Thank you, H-Mom! It never ceases to amaze me the KNOWLEDGE that we have on this board!!!! I will surely look into Colace. Never thought the Hydrocodone could be the culprit! I haven't been taking it for a few a few days and did have a visitor today----just as MM predicted!!!! Fun, fun! But if this goes on again, I'm going to get some Colace. Thanks so much!!!!!! Toni <---- apparently there's nothing I won't share with you all! thank you!!!!!

Welcome ML! I've got your same concerns with my two daughters, and they're not even in Kindergarten yet....I've got to get this under control...we're in this together, Sweets! Glad you have such a great family!!! Toni

MM...sorry you're itchy! I've not had that problem (yet!) but I'd LOVE for my steristrips to fall off so I can scrub my belly and get off the sticky tape residue from the bandages. Teeheehee. Lucy...I'm still sleeping on my back, and sometimes my side. Guess it's getting better! OK...I'm just going to come out and ask! Are you banded people having bowel movements? Does Protein Powder slow things down so to speak? How's that for the question of the day???? Hugs, Toni

What a GREAT idea, and I love both of the names you're considering! I'll have to really think about it, too. Right now my creative juices are not flowing!:notagree Toni

KT! Soooooooo good to see your posts! Glad you are home and sleeping fine! Your post made perfect sense to me. I made this AWESOME dinner for my family tonight, but I also bought a new mocha flavored Protein shake. So as I was drinking mine I was trying to really "taste" the shake for what it was....not just gulp it down and salivate over everyone else's dinner. I enjoyed myself so much more. And I stayed satisfied, too! So your post really hit home to me! Now if I can just get through tomorrow. I'm finding myself wanting to put solids in my mouth. Ugggggggh. Restraint, restraint, restraint! Cheers everyone! Toni

Hi there! My daughter is 29 mos. and I was told "No lifting anything more than 5-10 lbs." but I was lifting her (she's 28 lbs.) carefully into her highchair easily 3 days post-op....I just used my arms and went slow. HTH! Give your little one a cuddle from me! Toni
-
Hi Lisa, I tried to click on KT's name, but wasn't able to "break thru" to email her or PM her to let her know we wanted to know how she was doing. Hopefully she will check in soon. I hear you about port sight soreness. I'm off my elixir, but the port is still sore, and I'm still sleeping on my back. It won't last forever! Hugs, Toni
-
Serena....welcome home!!!! Wow, I'm reeeeeeeeally amazed with you taking no pain meds. You're my hero! I was living on hydrocodone elixir for a few days like clockwork. (Me thinks me a big baby afterall!) Hooray for you!!!! RHONDA....Don't be so silly! Yes, they're teens, but they are going to notice when you come home from the hospital!!!!! Man, I can't believe you can even hide dieting from them! I'm impressed. My girls are all over my things, but then they're younger. Keep me posted what you do....it's interesting when you can keep that a secret!!!!! Cheers, Toni
-
Welcome home Huntersmom! Glad everything went so smoothly for you!!!! ----Toni

Group hug to HT and MM for no hungries! Isn't that awesome!?!? Sometimes I feel hungry, but I realize it's when I'm WATCHING others eat food. Hmmmmmmm ...... psychological?!? I think so! Hungries, hungries, stay at bay.....come again another day, errrrrr lifetime!

Angeladarling! I think you're going to be banded where they are filming Big Medicine on TLC!!!!! (I love that Dr. team, too!) That is sooooooo cool! (Oh, and that you aren't self-paying is a HUGE bonus!) Only 22 days for you! I was banded by Dr. Richard Collier at Journey Lite. It was GREAT. Dr. Collier is based in Conroe, but I live in Houston. I'm doing everything backward: today I go see the nutritionist! I'm just happy to see a Houstonian on our board! More later.... ----Toni
-
LOVE that story, Suzzzie! You can't have too many GOOD friends, and it sounds like you've got three at least! I may have even rubbed elbows with your friend from Houston!! Thanks for that story...I'm so glad you have someone to take you home/take care of you AND take you to dinner this weekend!!!!!! Cheers! Toni

Welcome Austies! You're in good company on the 12th...RitaMO, LadyBlue, Pippz and dawneb are getting banded. I'm not sure if anyone is in MX on that date, tho.... CBlancha...I'm with you, only on the banded side. It's been 4 days since I've been banded and I'm getting hungry. I can't believe I can't eat solids yet, let alone full liquids or pureed foods. Uggggggh! I can't offer any words of wisdom, but can commisserate! I'm sooooooo proud of all of you that did this pre-op. {{{{{{{ Java }}}}}}}}} I'm glad you got word about your g/b and they're going to monitor it so you don't have to wait 6-8 weeks. Can you imagine all that hard pre-op dieting literally flushed down the drain???? :faint: I hope you aren't too worried, and got ALL the answers you wanted!!!!! Congrats on your date, Rhonda! If you don't tell your kiddos, let us know how you manage THAT post-op! That would be some feat to hide your recovery from them, unless you made up some other illness/surgery recovery. {{{{{{{{{ Pippz }}}}}}}}}}} What's this with being diabetic? I don't know anything about diabetes, but do you have the kind that's managed with diet and exercise, or are you going to need insulin? Welcome Simplyme, Irish, and Angeladarling! Angela....I was/am banded in Houston, too! I'm not familiar with your Dr., but I googled him!:biggrin1: Are you getting banded at the Renaissance Hospital???? Looks like a nice facility! MissySafari....I can totally relate to what you felt in the bakery and wondering about failing on the band. But that's what we're here for! I'm hoping for inspiration/support for eating and exercise if or when I want to stray, since I don't have anyone in my family that's banded. We need not worry, girl...we're going to make it! Hoosierpoms...if you see this...how are you doing? How's your hunger? Are you satisfied on your post-op diet???? Cheers All, esp. Kim and Nina tomorrow! ---Toni
-
I can TOTALLY relate to this completely, 110% Suzzzie! I just wonder and hope I can keep my trap shut. Just yesterday I sent my husband and girls to a birthday party and all my friends were grilling him, "Toni's under the weather, huh, what EXACTLY is wrong?" Uggggggggh. Luckily I'm still on an antibiotic for an inner ear infection, so I can milk that excuse!!!!
-
Welcome Joeygirl....you're in good company on the 6th, and it's just around the corner!!!!! Thanks for poppin' in! We're all in this together!!!!:clap2: ---Toni

Hotty....that is too cool! We have that feeling about you, too! You are something else, Shoogah! Seriously, sounds like you work in a really great hospital!!!! I'm glad you get to have a nice extended time at home before you go back at it, too! I know you guys work your tooshies off!!!!!
