That is soooooo funny, I totally have my eye on the cookies and cream, too!!!!! :hungry: And I was wondering about the raspberry bottled drink to push my total over $75 for the free ship. Do you like the bottled drinks?

I have the vanilla powder that I use to make smoothies....it's really good on it's own, too! Love the stuff! Toni

Hi KT and Insub.....I'm with you both....I DO NOT want to go thru Bandster Hell for too long, and I think I'm heading that way. My appetite is coming back, and I look at food and think, "I could totally eat that!" Ugggggggh...... KT, you go with the new boots, girl! I love it! Toni

Hello All! Don't you all LOVE the scale?!? :girl_hug: I can't wait to see more droppage on that part. My friend who's been banded for a year says when we're healed and filled correctly the weight will start falling off. I can't wait! Anyone LOVE to exercise?!? I don't. I'm trying. Got on the treadmill tonight. I'm going to TRY to make it a habit. Any advice? Stef....I bet your port is why your left side is sore. That's where mine is, and if you look at all your incisions, or can "see" them under your bandages, it'll be the longest one. At least that's how it is for me. And if you gently touch it, you might feel it, too. :omg: And I'm pretty sure you are having major gas pain, too. I'm sorry, but it will get better! Keep moving! KT....good to see you again! ----Toni

I am so sorry that your Mom is going through this scary time right now, Snoopy. Prayers are lifted and please keep us posted!!!! Hugs, Toni

I'm sleeping in a regular bed, but the first three nights were not fun!:cry Your abdomen will feel better and better each day, but I must say, my port is still sore, and it's been 9 days! Time will heal.....:clap2::girl_hug::clap2:

Take Good Care out there, Captain----Godspeed! Hopefully the days will fly by, and then it will be Rock-n-Roll time!!!!! :clap2::clap2: ---Toni

Welcome home Java!!!!! :clap2: I'm sorry you're having a tough time, and take all the time you need to rest and heal!!! You are completely normal, but do try to drink!!! Do you have any phenergan or anything from your Dr. to take for your nausea? That might help you get thru this little bump in the road.... You can drink from any container that will hold how ever many ounces your shakes are (6 or 12?) and just sip them slowly so you don't feel nauseated. Your brain is not playing tricks on you....we really are on page 54.....800+ posts, though, which is amazing! ---Toni

I don't know if it's jealousy or not, but my best friend---who struggles with weight to on a small degree, but LOVES to eat out/get together to eat with me, has not contacted me once since I've been banded over a week ago. Not even to check in with me. And I sent an email to her and her husband letting them know I was banded. Still no word..... .....this saddens me to no end. I'm just feeling rejected and upset. Feels good to just post this and let it out.....thanks for the forum!!! Toni

Dr. Pinnar is a MEANIE! Are you sure he didn't just say carbonated drinks? I don't know why you can't have tea and coffee?!? My doctor allows it. It was allowed on day 1. Anyone? Sorry I can't help. BTW, Hi. My name is Toni, and I'm a caffeine addict. (though it's cut down tremendously since giving up Diet Cokes!)

Nvalicia----so good to see your post! You were one of our frontrunners and it was a week ago today you got banded!!!! I hope you are feeling more strong every day and please post whenever you can. We're all eyes and ears! Cheers! Toni (couldn't even wait 5 mins. to post when I saw yours!!!)

First of all...Hotty, I love ya! Thanks for keeping up with your awesome calendar! Can't believe how blue it's getting!!!!! We're banding together like C-R-A-Z-Y! {{{{{{{{{{{ Rhonda }}}}}}}}}} o2bthin----again, I'm so sorry about your Mom. There's no doubt she's looking down at you and is so proud!!! I'm with you: I have trouble staying asleep at night, and I take Lunesta for crying in the night! When I can't sleep, I come see what this board is up to! You have so much on your plate. Congrats on you son's graduation, but I know you must have a lot of emotions going on with that, too! BTW, this is off topic, but I *still* use benefiber/metamucil/fiber choice tablets dujour once/day, usually in the morning with breakfast, to keep my blood sugar in tact. Dakota....congrats on your band, and I can't believe how quickly you were mobile. I milked this band for all it was worth and didn't even TOUCH the treadmill for 7 days! Even then I only walk a half mile and it was s-l-o-w-l-y! Good for you, girl! SimplyMe....have you seen the posts from Stefanie42467? She got banded in Hurst, TX, too, but with a different doctor, I'm pretty sure. Small world! Speaking of small worlds......NINA GIRL! Are you by chance in Houston, TX?!? I am! And we have a St. Luke's Episcopal hospital here! How cool would that be if we were neighbors!?!? Even if you're not lucky enough to be a Houstonian I'm so glad your banding went well, and despite the gas you were out there hittin' it too. I'm so proud of everyone being so darn active!!!!! ...like Thinner----you active soul! Welcome! Thanks for sharing your story and CONGRATS on your 25 pound weight loss! Holy smokers that is awesome!!!! Speaking of 25 pounds down the tubes....way to go JackieP!!!!! That is fantastic! And I loved the tip about eating fruit at the end of the meal if I'm dying of thirst (which you know I will be!) :speechles Hi Twinkletoe...congrats on your banddate! And to answer your question, I think I speak for all of us when I say we all have LOTS and TONS of willpower. We only need the band because......hang on. I'm just kidding! Diets that restrict are HARD as HECK to maintain---some see it as lack of willpower, but diets just aren't maintainable! At least for me! So I would, for instance, join Jenny Craig. Lose 20 pounds, and gain back 30. This band is going to help me choose my foods more wisely (e.g. proteins first, then veggies, etc...) and in limited amounts. Viola! I'll lose weight, be motivated to move more (exercise) and God Willing maintain it! HTH! Beckie....Congrats on your banddate, too! I can tell by your post you are happy as a clam! FarmerE....Welcome to our family! :biggrin1: MM---High-Five on the Dr. appt! :clap2: I'm coming over for dinner tonight at your house. I want mushies, too! No, seriously though: remember yesterday we both had soup at a restaurant? Well, it was sooooooooooooo good, that I'm going back tonight for more! (but it sure would go great with your chicken!) Whew...sorry if I missed anyone! Ok, I've bugged you people more than enough for now.....but you KNOW I'll be back to post more.... ....in like 5 minutes! :omg: Cheers! Toni

Hang on....whoa....wait UP! You have 7 month-old QUADS + THREE other children living under your roof?!?!?!? And you're getting banded?!? :omg: You are my H-E-R-O :clap2::clap2: ....and no, God won't let you die. I promise! And so will your Dr. Big Hugs! ---Toni (mom of two singleton girls who prayed for safety from above and guiding hands over the Dr., the Anethetist and staff and everthing worked out just fine!) You'll See!

I can totally identify with all your (orange) points!!!! Although, I am getting more comfortable in bed after one week. It's the port side that's the stinker. :phanvan It's taking the longest to "heal" and let me be completely comfortable. I hope you'll find comfort in bed, very soon!
-
I don't think the bandaid would've hurt it a bit...don't worry! Sorry about the gas pain. Try to walk around a little and can someone get those Gas X Strips/Chewables for you? Hope you find relief!!!!!! ---Toni
-
Welcome to the board, Kland!! Fast track is right.....holy smokers! This is exciting!!!!!! Cheers!:clap2: ---Toni
-
No Doubt Suzzzie! I hear you!!!!! I do the same thing! And I can't imagine *not* ordering something like Iced Tea to go with my meal, but what would be the point??????? Nothing to drink for a half hour before or after you eat?????? How are you all going to handle restaurant drinking? Order a glass of Water? I'm clueless?!? :help:
-
YES! I can get that EXACT same feeling----even from a Protein shake....I think from drinking too fast??? But *certainly* from new foods if I don't go s-l-o-w. And I have the same concerns: am I stretching my little pouch????? Yikes! I'm going to ask about it next week at my appt., but does anyone else know???? Thanks for voicing this, Hotty!!!!!!

Congrats on a successful banding Insub! I thought those boot massagers were so cool! Best Wishes tomorrow brokergirl, <O:p</O:pRashad, Lucy, & stefanie42467. You'll do GREAT! Please post when you can from the other side. ----Toni

Hi Serena!!! I don't (have to) sip liquids slowly, I think I'm over that hump. I was shocked that I could feel my port. Again, ewwwwwww. Don't worry, they'll find it with flora if not by feel. Cheers, Toni
-
How is everyone that's waiting to be banded doing on their Pre-Op diets? How are the banded feeling today? It has been exactly a week for me and I am getting really active now..... just keeps getting better. I even ate in a restaurant!!!!! Here's the kicker: I don't know HOW I am going to learn NOT to drink while eating and not drinking before or after the meal. Anyone else worried or concerned about this behavior mod? Thanks, Toni
-
Season, I'm 10 years older than you, so I'm not too worried about scarring and wearing that itsy bitsy teeny weenie bikini!!!!!!! :embarassed: J/K...haven't thought about the scars, but I do have 5 incisions total, and I just got up the nerve to TOUCH the port incision, and I can FEEL the port.....ewwwwwwwww! (can anyone else feel their port?) I was hoping it was really buried. Lord knows I have enough to bury it (right now, that is!!!) Congrats on your Protein and blender shopping spree. I'm a little envious of your new blender, as I like to put ice in mine shakes, and I'm getting a little tired of washing that big ole sucker every time! Cheers, Toni <------- sorry I'm posting so much, but I LOVE this site and you all!
