    Sick of the attention

I totally agree. I don't think anyone means any harm in acknowledging the weight loss. What I would suggest for those who this bothers is to simply pull them aside and thank them for their support, but tell them that this makes you feel uncomfortable, otherwise it will continue and will annoy you. For me it doesn't bother me when someone compliments me on my weight loss, if someone asks how much weight I tell them quite a bit, smile and keep on moving.

    Getting clean

I had not had surgery since 2004 and quite a bit has changed. Now, a vast majority of hospitals/surgeons request that you bath with an antibacterial preoperatively to reduce the number of germs on your body. I didn't mind the one additional step.

I'm sure you have it under control.

    My personal struggle.

Shortly after surgery I had to go to 4 funerals, and of course I had to go to the repasts. I knew there would be lots of food and knew I had to come prepared with my water and protein shakes. It may be hard, but you just have to find a way to focus on your family, not the food.

    Cant sleep on my back!

Try putting a small pillow under the lower part of your back that might help.

    Getting clean

Dial antibacterial soap. I'm sort of a germaphobe so I take purrell wherever I go, especially in the hospitals, you never know what you will be bringing back home with you.

    Diet soda ever again?

I was told we aren't allowed carbonation, straws and gum is because it can cause swelling and gas accumulation.

    Gratitude Post

I'm over 4 months out and have lost 74lbs, with much more to go. I'm glad to be able to climb the stairs with ease without huffing and puffing. It is also much better on my knees. . Life was good before, it will just get better!
  13. Oh, I didn't need to crush any vitamins or meds, but about 2 weeks after the chewable multivitamins made me nauseous, had to switch to another multivitamin.
  14. I did not use a belly band. Pre-op med: Avapro for hypertension Post-op: I was prescribed percocet for pain, didn't need it. Had to give myself lovenox injections, I took a chewable Multivitamin, b1, D, prilosec, calcium citrate (one month after surgery) iron and I get a B12 shot every other month. Didn't need any gas meds or stool softeners.

I would love love love some popcorn...

A little popcorn never hurts. If I go to the theater I never put the OIL yuck (what they call butter) on the popcorn.....not a fan of wet oily popcorn.

Hey Susie, I'm praying for your dad and your family. I know worrying about a loved one can be stressful. I'm hoping you can find a way to visit your dad in person.

    Addictions. Questions On This

I love shopping online, but one of the things I vowed to do is to stop purchasing clothing online. Only because if I go to a store or mall that means I have to walk and then I will be getting added exercise.

Lol, and they sure aren't checking to see if you have a bush, a beach or a runway. Hilarious.
  25. I felt pretty normal after about 3 weeks. I say "normal" only because I was still adapting to the new diet and schedule back at work.
