Geminidrive replied to JuliannaJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should tell them and be done with it. Be nice.....just ask them did they forget you. -
HURT BY COWORKERS
Geminidrive replied to JuliannaJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't give them the power, continue what you were doing before, keep smiling and be the bigger person. Why does everyone keep harping on jealousy? Do we know for a fact that she told everyone what type of surgery she had and that had to be the reason they didn't send her flowers? -

HURT BY COWORKERS
Geminidrive replied to JuliannaJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Who typically sends the gifts, is it one particular person or a group effort? Did you tell them that you Weight Loss surgery? Could it be that someone just dropped the ball? -
Sometimes a negative can be turned into a positive, take that vision and store it in your head and use it as a motivator after you have your surgery. Visual reminders always help me.

New and ANNOYED
Geminidrive replied to Jessiegurl2686's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When starting with this process the best thing you can do is research and be informed, one call to your insurance company and you would have been armed with the insurance requirements before any doctors visits. If you don't meet the requirements what are they (Surgeon) suggesting that the attys will be able to do? -
Not disclosing details about surgery to employer
Geminidrive replied to schavez2010's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
If you do a search, you will find many posts about this subject and the creative things people have advised their employers. -
I've tried every diet in the books, so I just listed them on the medical form, but I also see my PCP regularly and had a history of everything that I tried. I started the process just as the changed from a 6month to a 3 month waiting period. My timing was perfect.

QUESTION: What made you decide to be sleeved OVER gastric bypass?
Geminidrive replied to READY4CHANGE2013's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I only entertained the sleeve and Band, when I initially decided on surgery I thought I would do the band, but after my due diligence, the sleeve was the best choice. Thus far, no pain, no nausea, and no regrets. -

Anyone had surgery and was alone afterwards.
Geminidrive replied to MsBriteEyez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have neighbors or co-workers that can check on you? I live alone, but my brothers live about 1 hour away. My ex-boyfriend checked on me along with my neighbors. I was fine, no pain, no nausea. Just make sure someone checks on you. -
I love my treadmill (Proform Power 995 Treadmill) I wanted a good one and also wanted to make sure I could fold it up. It was expensive, but I was able to pay a portion of it using gift cards.

Since my surgery 10/8 I'm starting to feel like I'm an anomaly. Post surgery I haven't had any pain, I haven't had any emotional breakdowns and haven't had any difficulty with my adjusted diet. (I know 3 months is early, so I can't say what the future holds......hopefully my life redesign will continue along the same path.). I think for me the fact that I didn't have any distractions (financial/personal/family/work issues) has helped tremendously. So with that said, I was wondering if any others have had similar experiences thus far, and if so what do you credit with your success so far? I would love to hear from others, please share your experience.

Post surgery: Pain, Emotion, Difficulty
Geminidrive replied to Geminidrive's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Of course attitude is the most important factor, along with focus and the fact that i was ready. Thanks! -
One night in the hospital and went back to work 3 weeks later. The only restrictions were not to lift anything over ten pounds, so because I have large dog I couldn't walk him. The three weeks was perfect because I was able to get into my new eating routine without being distracted at work.

Local practice cant accept mx patients?
Geminidrive replied to amytug's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Actually surgeons and doctors can refuse to accept patients, they do it every day. A hospital on the other hand, it is a life threating emergency can not refuse treatment. They must stabalize you then they could transfer you to another hospital. -
Not a good day :(
Geminidrive replied to dollbaby1969's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I found after about 2 weeks I couldn't take the chewable vitamins, they made me nauseous. I had to change the vitamins. I also found out that I can't drink anything cold in the morning, I have to warm up my stomach with tea or room temperature drink. -
