As I stated initially " Any time you have to put that much effort into something to benefit others it is in my opinion unnecessary stress." and I stand by that statement. AGAIN, My statement " I guess I'm just a confident person and refuse to be anything else." is a general statement about ME and my views. I can state my views, just like yous stated yours. It's not personal, and if either of you think that....so be it. Enough said, I have nothing further to add to this topic.

I'm not one to over-share, and like you I believe privacy is very important. On the other hand, I also feel that lying and concocting fabricated stories takes too much energy. I don't believe in lying. I won't/don't let others opinions of me and my life choices bother me, but then again I'm not the type that will cower and allow others to humiliate me either. I get it that others may not have to strength or courage to stand up for themselves, not me. I guess I'm just a confident person and refuse to be anything else. I still love food, I just make different choices now, and of course smaller portions. I see where the majority of people say this is hard, but I haven't found this to be the case for me. Perhaps it will get harder.....if so, I'm up for the challenge.

She is just stating her opinion and everyone does not have to agree with the choices that you make. I would thank her and advise her that I made my decision. They are physicians and are helpful, but the choice is yours. If she is a good physician I would continue to see her.

Hopefully this will hep some with questions. Sometime I wonder if some people received post-op instructions, or whether some even read them. I love that it says "It is a good idea to read over this booklet several times before and after your surgery. You will probably notice new things each time you read it!"

The cardiologist may require you to have a stress test. Good luck.

It depends. You mentioned that you have a yearly exam with your cardiologist, is there an underlying problem? I had to get clearance because I have mitro valve prolapse which has never affected my health, but as a precaution I was given a EKG and echocardiogram. I was not required to take a stress test.

To all who had surgery outside of the United States, did anyone opt for Medical Tourist Insurance? Regular travel insurance doesn’t cover any trip where the purpose of the trip is to obtain medical treatment. This exclusion applies to every part of a travel insurance policy. For example, there’s no coverage for medical treatment, trip cancellation, travel delay, baggage, trip interruption, etc. if the purpose of your trip is to obtain medical treatment. For those who are still pre-op and have scheduled surgery, I would at the very least check it out. There are several sites that offer insurance, just Google medical tourist insurance. What jumped out at me is the coverage when you return to the US. I must say that I did not delve into it in depth, but thought it might be worth mentioning. Nothing surprises me, some aren't ready for the commitment.

I don't have a dog in the fight so I really don't have a favorite. I'm a lifelong GIANTS fan. I have a couple of boxes from work, but the numbers aren't that great. I hope it's a good game, not a blowout.

Wow! Persistence pays off! How are you now, any side affects from this ordeal?

I didn't do anything spectacular, just normal things. The one thing I wish that both of my parents were here to see me reach my goal. My big party will be in another year.

You do know that you are on a site with many people who have in the past made unhealthy food choices, who have paid for those bad habits, yet are now trying to correct the past. It just goes to show you that sometimes it's not about what we ingest, but sometimes our body makeup. I think it's a good thing that we have options like the sleeve to put us on the path of a healthier life. Now to those who have been sleeved, is this a huge change from the amount of calories you were eating before surgery? Yes, it is a change.....no more ice cream, candy....

Chinese food can be torture. I stick with the chicken satays, and maybe some steamed veggies. I hope you feel better. Have you had your post-op lab check up yet?

If its sugar-free, I would go with Equal or spenda.

It is very tasty. I'm trying to figure out if I'll ever be able to eat REAL Habanero Sauce again. I love hot foods.
