    Psych meds?

I'm on Abilify and Effexor. When I first went on those meds, I gained a ton of weight. Now that I am post sleeve (12/17/12), my wt loss is on the slower side, and I was wondering if it is from the meds too. Curious to see responses to this post as well.

    pb2 suggestions

I add it to chocolate SILK milk alternative. I bet it's good in the vanilla too, (in case you don't like chocolate)
  4. Finally broke a 4 week stall. Boy it was hard being 'patient'. I feel wonderful. Having the sleeve was the best thing ever. Good luck everyone

    All of my December sleevers...

Rsmnd, great idea. Plus': I don't get winded when walking thru airport terminals anymore. I've lost 17 inches, and one pant size. I feel wonderful, and have more energy.

Finally broke a FOUR week frustrating stall. YIPPEE
  7. Great job! Keep up the good work.

    Over this stall

I was sleeved the same day as you. I too have been on a 3.5 week stall. The scale finally moved yesterday, but it was a small move. It's frustrating, but I'm going to keep doing what I have been doing, because I know the scale will eventually move. A NSV is that I lost 16.75 inches so far.

    Irony in the dating scene

I've been on plenty of fish for about a year, while I was at my heaviest. Needless to say, not much activity for me. Ironically, I just met someone who likes 'bigger ladies' now that I had my surgery on december 17th. Oh the maddness! lol I haven't told him I had the WLS yet.

    10 Month Post-Op - 60lbs Lost

Great job, keep up the good work! I have a love hate relationship with working out too, hopefully, it will be more love as I drop weight.
  13. I too am an a 4 week stall, and I'm very frustrated. I started working out yesterday, so hopefully that will help me get over this stall. Emotionally, I want to start cheating, because the scale is not moving, but that's the behaviour that got me heavy to start with. So I perservere. I'm thinking of doing liquids for the next 3 days too like the post above. Good luck and hang in there.
  14. Well tomorrow I am going to the gym for the first time since I was sleeved. (12/17/12) I've lost 30 pounds, and I'm looking forward to doing the eliptical trainer. I hope I can do 10 minutes, and then I will walk too. I also plan on starting a light weightlifting program. Wish me luck!

    All of my December sleevers...

I was sleeved 12/17. I've lost 30 pounds, but have been on a stall for the last 4 weeks. contacted my NUT, she said this is normal, and to keep the course.

    Best vitamins etc

I use bariatric advantage, and I think they taste great. There are multiple flavors, you may try another flavor. My surgeon advised against using flinstones, because they were not nutritionally sound.
  17. I just contacted my nutritionist about my 4 week stall. She said it was normal at this point to hit a stall, and keep doing what I'm doing. I does stink that the scale is not moving though. A NSV, I am off one of my BP meds, and I feel much better when I walk thru the terminals at the airport, I'm not as winded as I used to be.
  18. I'm 5 weeks post op, and for the first three weeks I dropped 20-30 pounds. Now for the last 2 weeks or so, it's not moving at all. I'm watching what I'm eating, journaling, but I have been traveling more for work, and am finding it hard to consume the 64 oz of water. Do you think this may be the culprit? I'm getting frustrated, and I feel like cheating since the scale isn't moving anyway. I need support.
  19. Thanks, I plan on getting measured on Sunday.

    Hi I'm new and lost!

People who don't suffer with our issues with loosing weight definately don't get why we do this to ourselves. But as you know, most of us have tried many eating plans to no avail. Mostly I got support from people when I told them, a few raised eyebrows, and some said right out I was crazy. Anyway in regards to your post every body is different. I had surgery on december 17th and was back to traveling for work in 3 weeks, and I felt fine. I carry a lot of bags and a computer. It was at first difficult to place the computer in the overhead bin, but it got easier over time. Schlepping thru the airport used to make me winded, and I noticed I feel a lot more energized as I walk through it now. I can't wait to loose 20 more pounds, and it will even be easier. PLUS, no more need for a seat extender. glory days ahead....... Best of luck to you. follow your doctor's orders and you will do fine.

    Florida sleevers

Alana, try Dr. Thomas Bass, he has offices in Naples and Ft. Myers. He is awesome. (239) 494-8777
  22. I eat out all the time because I travel for work. I order fish or a turkey burger, and try to get the most bang out of the Protein buck. The thing I feel most guilty about is throwing all those leftovers out, because I'm staying in hotels. Also, many of the servers will ask if my food was ok, because I eat so little of it. Next week, I'm going to ask if they could just cook me a 1/2 order of the food. I feel so bad throwing food out (hey, that's how I got to be so big .... lol) The other thing the servers find strange is that I don't order any beverage with the meal. I like a previous post in this thread that they get the Water with lemon to go. I may try that too. Good luck with your WL journey
  23. I'm 31 days out now, and down 30 pounds. I love my sleeve, and had no complications what so ever.
