I was sleeved on December 18th, I'm still in my full liquid phase, and I don't think I would suggest anyone doing this during the holidays. I'm getting better and I did chew a very small piece of spiral ham and spit it out, that was the extent of my cheating. I know that sound disgusting but it worked for me. I don't know if you can do that on sweets to chew it and spit it out but that was suggested by a fellow sleever in my pre-op class. I've lost 20 pounds since my pre-op diet and 7 pounds since I've been sleeved.

Sitting in My Hospital Bed! Wishing this pain would just Go AWAY!

It does get better. I'm praying for you. The O2 settled into my shoulder areas from being operated on laproscopically, that was really painful. Take care and Merry Christmas. -

Meme, I wish you the best of luck. I almost decided to go with the by pass before I learned of the dumping affect.. I don't think I want to deal with that affect. Good luck in your future endeavors. Newman-51 -

Surgery Oct 16 All Post Surgeries Question
NewMe-51 replied to berthaeaster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone had problems with GERD after their surgery? I'm really concerned about that side effect. -
I have not had the surgery yet but I am too concerned about GERD. I take a prilosec x1 daily 20 mg but I've been reading where this surgery increases the chances of GERD and if you have GERD already magnifies it. I'm really concerned about this issue.

I talk with my surgeon next Wednesday, on October 17th. I'm trying to get all my blood work done, xrays, pulmonary function test and everything else they are telling me to do. I've gone to my internal medicine physician for the past 6 months, insurance requirements. I didn't realize you could not drink when you ate. This is good information. Thanks!
