    I Need to find a Dr.

    I'm still trying to get approved through insurance, but my self pay back up plan is to look more into Dr Tersigni in Coose Bay, Oregon Bay Bariatrics - Steve Tersigni, MD - Coos Bay, Oregon Denise had this to say about him: "I was banded by Dr. Tersigni on the coast and he charges 10,000.00 It didn't seem worth it to me to go to Mexico when Dr. Tersigini is 5 min from my house. He's really great. I know a lot of people come from Portland to go to him. The lady that was banded the same day as me by him, lives in Portland." Denise822 vbmenu_register("postmenu_461870", true);
  2. The Lap Band is only a tool not a guaranteed cure. So, can you do a weightloss/health program like Weight Watchers while on the Lap Band? I liked WW and it helped me improve my daily eating habits-- Water, Vitamins, new recipies, etc. I'm wondering if because you can eat anything you want on WW, it would work WITH the Lap Band? Anyone else done this?
  3. My personal money philosophy is "she who pays decides". When it came to planning my wedding, mom paid for the things we aggreed on or she wanted and I paid for the extras I wanted. Sure you want to make her happy, but she can't be dragging you around by the purse strings. That's just rude. I would say, like with everything else as a mom, lay down some very reasonable guidlines and then let her make a final desision. I hope you will get to enjoy every minute of this experience!

    Swimming

    Some questions for all of you swimmers.... What kind of swimming do you do? What's best for weight loss? Do you do other workouts too? I have been taking Water aerobics three times a week but haven't seen much change. I'm not banded yet, but I'm wondering if swimming will be good enough when I do or if I need to look into a gym or something.

    One step closer

    Wat insurance do you have?
  7. I AM GETTING the BAND! No question. I have done a ton of research and I am ready. It's just the waiting process and figuring out how to pay for this that is driving me bananas! I have my appointment for "Information Session" on Monday, 5/15. I called my insurance company and they don't cover the Lap Band. So I am looking for a new insurance company. I may have to self pay, though I don't know how. How do you deal with the waiting and keep your spirits up through all this crap?!?!
