    December Exercise Challenge

Hi everyone! I have 3 more days of walking to report. I am finally losing again, mostly due to my last fill. I haven't gotten on a scale yet but my clothes are baggy and people are commenting on how much I've lost just since Thanksgiving. :biggrin1: I am so in the holiday mood this year!!! I'm having fun shopping, singing, planning and of course all the kid's events. "Tis the season to be jolly fa, la la, la, la...." Happy Holidays! Jesus is the reason for the season!

    December Exercise Challenge

Thank you for your support! One more exercise day down! 20 minute walk with my daughter tonight. I asked for a membership to Curves for Christmas. I think that will help. I'm also reading The Success Habits of Weight-Loss Surgery Patients. My WLS councilor says I'm right on track and losing, but I know I could be doing a lot better-- and I want to! As I get more restriction I'm more limited on what I can eat. I'm getting bored with the same ol' same ol'. What are some of your favorites? I'd love to find something new.

    December Exercise Challenge

Happy Holidays! Well, better late than never. And believe me, never would have been easier. It's not easy to come back when you feel like you've let people down. I'm sorry. Thank you, Frangipani for keeping things going. You are all inspiring! I've been struggling with my band and exercise lately. I knew it would be a hurdle-- that's why I signed up to do the exercise challenges. I was hoping it would be easier this time around. I have 10 exercise days scheduled this month, most of which are walking. I got 1 down. I can do this!
  4. Come on, Crazy Ates! Lets get moving! This months goal is to get three exercise days per week, for a total of 12 days of exercise this month. For those who made that goal last month and want to step it up a knotch, I challenge you to 20 days of exercise. This is the kind of exercise that makes you break a sweat, gets your heart pumping, burns calories and tones those tushies! (Be sure to consult your doctor before starting a new exercise program.) Please post your name and exercise goals to this thread. Name: Exercise Goals: You may want to add something like this to your signature (change the number in orange to how many days you have done): Crazy Ates November Exercise Challenge 0/12 Days of Exercise Go, Crazy Ates! Go!

Adjusting the BRAIN along with the band...

Me too! I am so missing those days right after surgery when only 1 cup of Soup would fill me. I have had three fills since surgery on 8/21 and I still don't have enough restriction, though I am getting close. This next fill might be the one. Fighting with head hunger and restaurant food has been the worst for me. DH and I love to eat out and when things get busy, like they have been lately, it's so much easier. I found that french fries and tortilla chips go down way too easy! I need to get back in gear-- exercise, food journal and posts.

    October Exercise Challenge!

Here I am! It's been a tough month. We've had a house full of sick people. I went in for two fills this month and now I'm sick too. Sorry I haven't been here. I'm really struggling with my band too-- not posting, tracking, etc. I haven't gained, but I haven't lost either. GOOD JOB everyone! You are all so amazing and inspirational! :whoo:Super congratulations to everyone who made their goal! :clap2: I didn't make goal this month, but will make the November goal! Bring it on!

    Getting in all that PROTEIN!

Yum! Now I'm in the mood for Beans and cornbread! Guess what's for dinner tomorrow night. LOL! My mom taught me a similar recipe for cooking pinto beans, but this gives me even more ideas. Thank you for posting! Recipe swap anyone? I was craving pumpkin pie and thinking about eating custard to help get my Protein in when I came up with this recipe: Easy Crustless Pumpkin Pie 1 can Libby's Pumpkin Pie mix 6 eggs 1 cup 1% Milk Mix ingredients and pour into a casserole dish (no need for grease or non-stick spray). Bake for 60 min. at 325 degrees. Knife inserted in the middle should come out clean. Let cool 30 min. before serving. Makes ten 1/2 cup servings Calories: 140, Fat: 3g, Carbs: 21g, Protein: 5g It makes a nice little snack for those of us in the holiday mood early:D

    Does anyone have a rash..........

I had a similar problem under my breasts. I went to my dr and found out it was yeast from the antibiotic shot they gave me before surgery. All cleared up now. You should probably have a dr look at it to be sure.

    Getting in all that PROTEIN!

I'm not getting enough Protein in. I never did Atkins because I'm not a big protein fan, unfortunately. It's taking me a while to get used to all this. I'm making progress but not yet ideal. I have eaten more eggs, tuna and salmon in the last few weeks than in all of my life prior. LOL! I'm going to try the New Whey Protein tubes that Candle mentioned. I am also going to try adding some unjury to my nightly pudding that I use to take my pills. I would love to hear some more tips. This post has been very helpful!

That means I'll keep the challenges simple and manageable at any level We will all be in the process of pre-op or recovery through August and September. So, lets start simple and healthy with the goal of CREATING AN EXERCISE HABIT. You could walk from the chair to the bathroom, move your arms, do housework, etc. This is about being mindful of moving your body as a part of getting healthy and losing weight! Professionals say it takes 21 consecutive days to create a habit. It doesn't matter what you do or for how long. What matters is that you do it every day with intention! August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far

Hi, Judi! For me, I used to drop a big chunk of weight (like 10lbs in a week) and then I would plateau for a while. (I expect that to happen again) Also if you are exercising you may be gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat, per sq inch. Of course there's water weight that we gals get once a month-- yuck! So, any of those things could be fooling with the scale. That's why I don't have one at home-- it always lies. LOL! You're doing GREAT! Just keep up the good work. It's going to pay off! {{{hugs}}} :cheer2:

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far

That's true. You caught me. LOL My Dr gave me a hand out that says to aim for 30g a day durring post-op. My nutritionist told me to aim for 60 a day. I've been getting at least 30g a day and sometimes more than 70g. Mostly, like my Dr said, I was just eating for comfort through the post-op phase. Now that I have my fill I will have more choices, eat better and can really get with my exercise! Woo hoo! :whoo: Candle, how are you getting your 70g in a day? Protein supplements? How are things going for you?

    First Fill

I'm four weeks post-op and had my first fill today, under flouro. It went really quick and easy. I barely felt it-- even asked if the needle was in. I watched my stomach on the monitor as I drank the berium. It tasted awful but looked cool. I'm down 27 lbs and feelin good! Yippee! :whoo:
